What's there to be against? I've had long discussions with people on this issue. Nobody who comes against me has the ability to reason. There's nothing to be against because nothing in psychiatry has ever been established. You have to understand how ridiculous it is to a scientist to hear someone say drinking caffeine is a mental illness and then turn around and say psychiatry is a science. Psychiatry is fraud and that's not a debatable point.

I never said that psychiatry was a real science, but that IS how it is seen in law and in practice. I am against commitment laws and lying to the public. I am against giving children as young as 2 years old speed and anti-psychotics. There is plenty to be against. And although psychiatry IS a fraud, it is not seen that way therefore there is a debate.

I'm in agreement with you 100%. But the question isn't, "Is what they're doing wrong?" but rather, "Why the hell are they allowed to do this?" There's no question that what they do is incorrect/illogical and that's what I mean by there's no debate. Just don't give the other side the pleasure of thinking they have a chance at validity - because they don't. There is no debate in that sense. Psychiatry is not science and that's a fact.

Psychiatry is today, in 2008 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, what the witch hunts were in 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts, from my observation. I'm actually studying Psychology at the moment and I think what you say about 'anxiety and depression' is probably a valid point. Some form of counselling is probably the best method of dealing with those things rather than putting a person on drugs straight away. Depression is a part of life, but of course can reach extreme levels if nothing is done to change it. There is a lot of pressure these days for people to be constantly buzzing, otherwise something 'must be wrong with them'.

Yes, I totally agree. Now I was VERY depressed in 1984 and part of 1986 but it passed. I simply needed better music and more exposure to sunlight, in addition to better circumstances. Much better times are around the corner. In 1986 I had Pamelor for which sunshine can be substituted (serotonin). Read the medical literature about how short to prescribe/be on that drug (4 months or less I think).

I knew a guy with an M.D. deree who died after he agreed to undergo electroconvulsive therapy because he said it increases the serotonin receptors in the brain. He died of a seizure from that "therapy." Sunshine works just fine but now my friend is dead. He died in about 2002 here in Cheyenne.

I believe that psychiatry destroys lives...at least it does in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and I have observed this for 30 years (I've seen many die from it). A medical doctor wrote a book about psychotropic drugs causing the shootings, and I believe she is correct from what she said on the radio (the title mentions the word "Nightmare" in it I think). I believe pychoanalysis is a good thing but who does it anymore? All they do now is drug 'em up!!!

No, they're not right about psychiatry. They may be right about some elements of those purporting to be representatives of it, but not all psychiatry is fairly represented.
