I don't mind bothering elephants... as long as you know what you're doing. I find it kind of short-sighted to say that it is sad and stressful for them. Living in a park without humans is equally as stressful. Thanks (?) to lion poaching, these elephants have it good. The world has changed and they must adapt too. We have to share the earth with them. There are plenty of elephant herds that are more relaxed towards humans... its a shame that poachers sometimes take advantage of this.

Very well said! You are right, the fanned out ears and the sound they make in the beginning was a sign that the elephants were alarmed (most likely because they have a calf with them). At about the 5 seconds mark, the elephant bluff-charged that is in most cases the final warning!
