Someone should post up the tracks for this game. I especially like the music used in Rounds 13-15. And yeah, Namco should put this game on re-release for the masses.
Yes, it does, especially on solo play, enemy tanks are sometimes overwhemlingly penetrating and leave the HQ multi-threatened...The only advantage might be that you can't destroy your own HQ with any kind of fire power, either intentionally or accidentally.
Right, it's kinda hard when u reach that far. Actually i didn't make it at the very next stage when i did this video, so i'm also waiting for somebody else to upload the rest. :) Or, i can re-record it next time for the next several stages when i get lucky to beat them. Thanks for ur comments!
True, u guess it right. Occasionally i play this game with my girlfriend via p2p network but she sucks, just keep throwing coins in. If time flashed back i would have no money for her to play. Netplay through WAN also inevitably has some lags which may affect gameplay at critical moments. I can't post a video like that so maybe i'll find somebody else if this game is to be played in 2.
Using huge amount of continues and player-switching, I managed to see all the levels, final boss and the ending. I have to say that the easiest stage past 17 is 29 where the level is an illustration of Namco logo. Most of the other stages, however, are either long enough to make you go "please stop, I don't think I can endure much longer", have very mean level designs (round 35) or have extremely intense fighting (round 25). Plus final boss is very hard.
ha, fun. and u did it on solo? man you are great, hope you can beat it without continue and post the video...i know the last boss, it's several huge tanks shooting fire you can't escape from...this game's design is plain and simple but still makes it addictive.
Nah! I can't post a video. Also, beating the game solo without continues, even on the easiest mode is above m skills. To kill the final boss without dying, you have to have upgraded tank, shoot a hole above your HQ, try to keep yourself as close to those huge turrets as possible, keep tapping fire and retreating when necessary. Then you can just make it.

I have to say that this is more difficult than its prequel Battle City.

I think it was the level 20 boss which I couldn't beat. I'd really like to see what comes next.

Maybe you need a friend to help you out? It's easier to defend the base with 2 players.

@artman40 Had plenty of those moments when you couldn't take it? I can understand. For a game made in 1991, it looks as tough as old boots.

it's even easier now since there's also a 4 player version of TF on mame
