This is common throughout the European's history. They will claim things from other cultures (Wisdom/philosophy, Mathematics/Science, Religion/Spirituality) and fashion it as their own. So why should anyone be surprised that he is doing it to his own. The so called "Western" Philosophical thought is 100% borrowed from cultures and civilizations that predated the earliest euro-Caucasian social arrangements by tens of thousands of years.

What utter nonsense. The European intellectual tradition did borrow from other more insular traditions, but it has its own firm intellectual roots. It is not 100% borrowed, that is a ridiculous exaggeration. Did the Chinese or Indians ever invent perspective and technical drawing ? Did they ever systematize Natural Philosophy with mathematics to produce Science ?  No, they didn't, plus, they had the decency to generally reference their sources so as not to claim undue credit

Just read "psychology of romantic love" - and found out mr Branden doesen't understand Erich Fromm's concept of brotherhood love, and is mixing it up with "erotic love". It's really funny, because most of the book, he's simply repeating what E. Fromm said about 30 years earlier (in some parts you'd like to simply say: he's based his theory on Fromm's humanism, yet is not mentioning Fromm's name). Then he's mixing up "egoism" with "self-love" - ver basic and popular mistake.
