@watergrandmother -- good observation and very accurate I think.........his extreme disappointment with the government of the day....W Bush. He wrote something similar called `The Great Compromise` back in the 70s about the state of the union at that time. Great Songs by a great artist.

Well i have been a Prine fan long befor it was kool ! First time i heard him was on WMMS Cleveland,,,Billy bass a very out there disc jock was the only one playing him.Sam Stone turned me on to a folk hero who made you stop and listen to the words he was singing.

I'm just getting by. Thats all i'm doing right now. Saw him twice in concert, hoping to see him again if he comes anywhere near here. One of my all time favourite singer/songwriters ever. One of the reasons I learned to fingerpick was his songs.

I was up close when he played Bonnaroo in 05.

He seemed to be recovering nicely from the medical treatment for his throat. It changed his sound a bit but still tops in my opinion.

He was smiling for my Camera that day! Catch a show when you can!
