im surprise to see that "communist china" accepted aid from japan during the eathquake, but "democratic" Japan and U.S.A refused aid from china during the fukushima nuclear disaster and catarina storm in the U.S. lol ironic
@njenjesmith Japan did accepted 20000 tons of fuel and 1million US doller cash and a heavy truck which is worth 1million US doller from China, and America did accepted 1million US doller from China during that storm
@ervin920 japan isnt allowed to produce advanced warships or really any advanced weapons of war.. Be warned though, if Japan decides to scrap article 9 of their constitution, you can expect to see some of the most advanced and powerful weapons of the world to be produced by them.
@hiashiro1 Japanese warship is pretty much the most advanced in Asia, article 9 existence really doesn't matter since Japan is being drag around by US and force to buy US weapons. scraping article 9 would at least make Japan look less hypocritical. Japan need to grow some backbone and stand up to the US, the extraterritorial rights must end, American should be accountable to Japanese law in Japan.
@akinkhoo I agree. However I think It's not as yu say. I remind you that America owes Japan almost as much money as they do China. Japan is doing what they think is best for them, I seriously doubt they care at all about American interests. I however don't really wish Japan to become warmonging nation, so I respect their pacifist policies. War is for the past, a foolish but necessary mistake, it's time to move on. Hopefully, Japan is attempting to do just that.
@hiashiro1 if Japan could do that, the military base would had been moved. it not a matter of choice of the Japanese government, it is bind by an unequal treaty which it cannot release itself from. that is the reality. Japan need to stand for itself, it not about becoming a warmonger or not, it is about dignity and respect. without the right to defend itself from US, what they have isn't pacifism, it is enslavement.
@akinkhoo Japan pays money to the U.S to keep those military bases their, what are you talking about? The U.S is there only because the Japanese allow it.
@hiashiro1 you are quite wrong, the Japanese government did not want the base, in fact the issue force their prime minster to stepdown because he couldn't change the treaty that was signed by the government that has fallen out of power, since US refute to renegotiate the treaty, they were FORCED to honored it.
this is no different from what the British did with HK. the chinese republic while never signed the lease had to honor that 100 year lease despite they opposed it.
@hiashiro1 the british made the chinese "pay" for their expenses as well, just because they pay for it doesn't mean they want it, that is what I mean by enslavement, they have no choice because their previous government sold them out knowing they will lose the election anyway.
it is not US fault to take advantage of Japan's weakness, but this is still exploitative. if US were truly ally, what didn't it accept renegotiation? why do something that weaken the creditability of japanese government?
