  • If this gramophone is from 50's, so why does it have mica soundbox made for acoustic records???

  • @patefon95 Because it is an acoustic machine that was designed to not require electricity so it could be taken anywhere and played whether there was an electrical outlet available or not, such as in the outdoors, at the beach, or anywhere else.

  • @cricketrecords Thanks for your answer. I know that it can play without electricity but I was thinking abotout for example ortophonic or viva tonal soundbox. They were produced since 30's for example for hmv 102 gramophones.
