Most friendly fire nowadays comes from aircraft shooting on ground targets, so if there is some of it coming from the US its because the US provides most of the air support, and the RAF has had almost as many friendly fire incidents in the past few years as the US

The same applied to today where most coalition forces relied on our air-support. You forget the mention the "worst friendly fire incident" in history where RAF bombers attacked 3 ships killing 7,000 Allied POWs. The Swedish warned the RAF pilots there were allied POWs in the ship yet they bombed ii to hell. google it up yourself.

The UK government actually admitted that Millers aircraft was knocked out by RAF bombers returning from an aborted mission over Germany. Weary RAF could not hold more bombs for landing so they decided to drop them which accidentally landed on miller aircraft. 9 US crewmen were killed.

Not like in european countries like France, UK or Germany where the entry test is based on physical activity and smartness! You cannot imagine a french soldier who stopped school at 16 or something without any diploma. There are some, but then they have courses in the army to get a diploma.

In this case the co-ordinates were given correctly, but the pilot read them back with one digit wrong, and the JTAC didn't pickup on the misread co-ordinate. Error on both parts, but anyway, not that it matter cos "friendly fire" will always happen. And to those bashing the Yanks, yes they do have more "friendly fire" incidents than us Brits but what most don't know is that their Close Air Support also bails us out on a daily basis. I know, they've saved my ass plenty in Afghan!!!

Does it matter about Iraq and Afghanistans lowest blue on blue rate? About 1 month or 2 ago a NATO aircraft (American pilot) killed 5 Afghan soldiers in a strike, go tell them those stats. Again even taking into account size your blue on blue rate in Iraq and Afghanistan beats ours, look it up.

@jameseng18 200,000 US troops deployed and there have been 12 friendly fire incidents. 20,000 British troops deployed and there have been 6 friendly fire incidents. Thats one for every 16,666 currently deployed for the US. Thats one for 3,333 currently deployed for Britain.
Now do the math. Take 12 friendly fire incidents US to UK 6 friendly fire incidents(hint: Brits are 5 times more likely to have a friendly fire rate than US)
I can recommend u to do some remedial math.

@BoyMunkey08 No they are not considered friendly fires when it comes to civilians. Iraqi Civilians are neutral either don't support or support. Only when troops, aid-workers, POWs are to be friendly fires when at the same time engaging/held by an enemy force.

Also hence why British and American troops are training Iraqi civilians and forming there Army and police force to deal with the Taliban themselves once we all pull out,but first we need to remove more Taliban and restore more peace.

The same applied to today where most coalition forces relied on our air-support. You forget the mention the "worst friendly fire incident" in history where RAF bombers attacked 3 ships killing 7,000 Allied POWs. The Swedish warned the RAF pilots there were allied POWs in the ship yet they bombed ii to hell. google it up yourself.

If you look it up you will see that there most certainly was a bridge there, and you will also see that the Germans were *CLEARED* out of Chateau Thierry by the assault launched by the American and french forces. The reason the senegalese were crossing the bridge was to come *BACK* from the other side...which is why they were mistaken for being an attacking force.

I know it wasn't solely won by the Venetians but they probably played the most decisive role in the battle, which is one of the most important ever fought. It was later discussed between American and French soldiers that the victims were soldiers of the French 10th colonial division from Senegal, who had been trying to get back across the river. Here: An airplane carrying USAF famed bandmaster Glenn Miller and 8 of his crew disappeared over the English Channel on Dec. 15, 1944 en route from UK to France. The UK government actually admitted that Millers aircraft was knocked out by RAF bombers returning from an aborted mission over Germany. Weary RAF could not hold more bombs for landing so they decided to drop them which accidentally landed on miller aircraft. 9 US crewmen were killed.

You have to think that in the US army, the entry test is not really based on smartness. That means you can find real idiots in this bullshit army. Not like in european countries like France, UK or Germany where the entry test is based on physical activity and smartness! You cannot imagine a french soldier who stopped school at 16 or something without any diploma. There are some, but then they have courses in the army to get a diploma.

@F1Oversteer First off the friendly fire rate in Iraq and Afghanistan, is the lowest friendly fire rate of any conflicts in history. 1% of deaths are friendly. (12-15% in WW2). Only now it gets caught on camera and ppl go berserk.
The Brits have had 10 friendly fire incidents.
The US had 20 friendly fire incidents.
Brits had 18,000 troops there. US has 229,000. US has 12.7 times more troops.
US has 1 incident per 11,450 troops. UK has 1 incident per every 1,800 troops.

In this case the co-ordinates were given correctly, but the pilot read them back with one digit wrong, and the JTAC didn't pickup on the misread co-ordinate. Error on both parts, but anyway, not that it matter cos "friendly fire" will always happen. And to those bashing the Yanks, yes they do have more "friendly fire" incidents than us Brits but what most don't know is that their Close Air Support also bails us out on a daily basis. I know, they've saved my ass plenty in Afghan!!!

@OlderG0ds Well our country has been around for a few hundred years longer, of course we are going to have a higher blue on blue rate, There are recorded incidents from the Napoleonic wars and beyond. Does it matter about Iraq and Afghanistans lowest blue on blue rate? About 1 month or 2 ago a NATO aircraft (American pilot) killed 5 Afghan soldiers in a strike, go tell them those stats. Again even taking into account size your blue on blue rate in Iraq and Afghanistan beats ours, look it up.
