  • Jesus told me when I was tempted to sin, "I've done my part (the cross), now do yours."

    Praises to you Jesus!

  • Beautiful at EWTN

  • Jesus said: "Do this in rememberance of Me."

  • Oh there's the altar...not being used.

  • @WeepingStellaMaris

I don't think the altar is in use 24/7. When it's time for benediction it's benediction. When it's time for mass, it's time for mass.

  • @priest008 I meant the REAL altar.

  • @priest008 Not the table you call an "altar."

  • Where's the altar?

  • I LOVED how the thurifer swung the thurible in a very Anglican manner.

  • Hmm the priest turned his back on The sacred presence -

  • It's there for benediction

  • @pinkfairy78 do you expect the priest to walk backwards to the sacristy, go catch him just in case he falls.

  • MburnsZA asks what purpose Benediction serves.

Listening to this recording took me back to schooldays in the 1960s when we would have Benediction every Wednesday, and 500 of us boys would sing O Salutaris, Tantum Ergo and Holy God We Praise Thy Name accompanied by the big pipe organ.

Watching and listening to this clip took me back 40 years and I now find that I miss these beautiful hymns very much.

So, for me, Benediction serves the purpose of prayer by song.

    Thank you for this clip.

  • Kudos to the lady at 3:46 with that Mantilla. A true model.

  • Jesus HOW beautiful you are!

  • I recieved a laminated card with JESUS on one side and the other side has a prayer starting with EVERY TIME I SAY JESUS

it ends (with ecclesiastical approval) Poor Clares, Langhorne, PA

I received the answer to my prayers with this card

  • After nearly 50 years since i served on the altar. it was wonderful to experience the reality of benediction again. I am just realising that things i thought were lost in me ,have now been found. ...thank you for that.

  • aulpn

Finding this Benediction was like a blast from the past and I pray it daily now. Whatever happened to Benidiction anyway? It is such a blessing!

  • Praise the Lord! :)

  • is that mother angelica at 3:57? i doubt it, but mabye. they say she doesnt come out to the shrine anymore, and that the Eucharist is brought to her in bed.

  • Mother still makes it to Mass, Benediction, and all. She just has had to give up her live shows and ad lib visits and such.

  • when i was there they said that she doesnt come out to mass or benediction and that she watches it from a tv. they bring the Eucharist to her in bed. the nuns are praying for her healing everyday. so sad.

  • Mother Angelica: A Saint in our Modern Times.

  • this shrine is so very beautiful! we went there this weekend and these precious nuns sound like angels when they chant and sing. i loved being there. i truly felt like i was in heaven.

  • You got that right...

    what's even more joyful...

is that this is just straw compared to what heaven will be like

  • Very nice. The thurifer is pro, lol. I like the swinging in different directions.

  • It's quite ironic that right at the beginning of the video it say "Holy God We Praise Thy Name" but the Church sit it fit that they do not use His Name of Yahweh in any of their songs, hymns, etc. Surely if God's our Father He would want us to call Him by Name?

  • Perhaps you're right. But then why would the unutterable Name not occur at all in the New Testament? It is because, according to tradition, it is too easily profaned and too sacred; we should avoid saying it at all. In ancient Judaism only the high priest could utter it, once a year, in the most sacred part of the year (Yom Kippur).

Also, we are not really sure that the vowels we use are correct, and the pronunciation isn't really certain. Even Jesus never said it; and God is his Father!

  • God's Name of Yahweh does appears in the NT, for example 1 Cor 1:31 "He who boasts, let him boast in Yahweh" or Matt 22:37 "And Yahshua (Jesus) said to him, You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind." There's many more. The pre-Constantine Greek manuscripts used placeholders (Nomina Sacra), their purpose was to protect and keep the most important names and titles from being corrupted and lost. Why did the RCC remove God's name?

  • Sorry, not meaning to hijack the comments section. But an honest question: what purpose does the Benediction serve, what's the spiritual significance, besides it being a prayer? There seems to be a lot of focus on the sunburst monstrance.

  • If you read Greek, 1 Cor. 1:31 says: "κυριω" not "YHWH" and Jesus says "αγαπαησεισ κυριον" in Mt 22:37. The reason why we do not use the Unutterable and Ineffable Name is because it is too sacred to be pronounced; it is the Name of the Most High. The Jews do the same thing and say "Ha Shem" or "Adonai" instead.

  • The Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament is an act of devotion and worship towards the Eucharist, since It is Christ Incarnate: "Thou gavest them bread from heaven. Containing within itself all sweetness." The monstrance is sunburst to show that it contains Christ, the Light and Sun of our dying world, who spiritually illuminates us.

  • Call me old fashioned but I don't think moments like this: the Benediction or the climax of the Mass should be filmed. I'm sorry - but the very idea of standing before this miracle, being in the presence of Jesus, and trying to capture it on a man-made mechanical device is ridiculous. It's true that is this is the Benediction and I feel less strongly then if it were the actual Mass, but still: this is God we're talking about and we watch it on the internet like any old light entertainment.

  • Absolutely angelic. This makes me proud to be a Catholic. These nuns have the most angelic voices I have ever heard

  • I have friends who are nuns down at OLAM...those women are truly extraordinary.

And the shrine is breathtakingly gorgeous.

  • Another place that is wonderful, if you are ever in Ohio, is St. Charles Center, in Carthegena. It was formerly a seminary before being turned into a retirement community, but still allows pilgrimages there, as well as 5 miles over in Maria Stein, where the 2nd largest relic shrine in the nation is. I was there last weekend for a discernment retreat, and enjoyed it. Benediction is offered at St. Charles M-Sa at 6:05 pm and Sun at 12:35p.

  • What a beautiful and sublime ceremony; it's a powerful witness of Jesus' real presence in the Eucharist. Thank you for sharing it with the world through YouTube.

EWTN and the Poor Clares of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery are worthy of every penny we can send them!

  • well,as we all know, Pope John PaulII cause the downfall of communism in poland, germany and russia. So , by any form of logic, who was in control of who or what. Pope Benedict defrocked priests and censured bishops. who is in control. The Catholic Church is the One,Holy,And Apostolic Church.LONG LIVE THE POPE.Viva Il Papa!!!!!!

  • Jesus I adore you. I praise you and I love you. Oh Ilove this video. Thanks for sharing.

Please LLord, forgive my unbelief. Have mercy on me and all our departed brothers and sisters and all the holy souls in purgatory. Please have mercy upon all our seperated brothren, fill them with the true and most Holy Spirit. Please forgive all their errors through misleading of all sorts. Amen.

    Thank you Jesus, thank you.

  • Beautiful service. Bring back benediction.

And NO Voltaire is NOT a Saint. What are your sources, please? I presume you do not read New Testament Greek, the language of the Gospels. If you did you would know that "rememberance" is a bad translation into Engish of the Greek word "amnesis" which is most definitely not rememberance. If you do not like what is here, practice some of Christ's teachings, "If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out"

  • Benediction fills me with peace.

  • Thank you for sharing this video with the world! The Benediction is a beautiful form of Eucharistic devotion, and the Divine Praises is such a wonderful prayer of repatation!

  • Beautiful, spiritually moving liturgy. Wonderful rendition of the hymn. Blessings and thanks ...

    Mike H.

  • Thank God for TRADITION.....Vatican II has almost destroyed our church, modernists should hang their heads in shame.

  • Sorry! Voltaire is NOT a saint, but a French philisophe during the age of the Enlightenment, circa 1730

We shouldn't argue about Faith and who is the true church...Christ is the truth wherever proclaimed!

  • Praise, honor, and glory to our Triune God... thank You, Lord!!

  • St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..
  • hermos bendición, gracias por poner este video que llena de paz el corazón

  • indifferentism is the road to Hell get off it now

  • Did my comment imply indifferentism? I think not. What I am saying is that faith is based on Love, not fear. This is the message of Christ: "I bring a new and everlasting covenant: The law of love."

  • We who are receiving the unshakable kingdom should worship with reverence and awe. Hebrews 12:28

  • The Hebrews quote was in response to voltaire.

  • They are a traditional Catholic group...who try defiantly to resist the changes of Vatican II. A former Catholic, now Episcopalian

  • Should we congratulate you for having Henry VIII as the father of your church?

  • The Henry VIII comment was for the Epicopalian.

  • I don't understand why you're on this site looking at this video. If you don't like Catholic things why aren't you somewhere else? If you're an expert on history, then I challenge you to name any Christian who did not believe in Mass or the sacraments, including Christ's Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist at any time in the first 1200 years of Christianity. The Church is practicing theology that comes from the very first Christians. Christ said his body is real food, his blood real drink.

  • Lovely, moving.

  • Wow. I love Jesus.

  • wow, those chicks can sing! beautiful alto part.

  • Just wonderful amen

  • I love Benediction......it's so wonderful......did they say the Divine Mercy Chaplet before?
