  • Exactly the same as Hong Kong. Gotta respect them

  • Just like Singapore! Though their system is a little different you get ~£250 for littering, and I think you even get money for reporting littering!

  • Japan subway > Toronto subway

  • i suppose a nice *or disgusting* depending on your views top to bottom, over the windows, end to end nicely executed colourfully aerosol applied,exterier,1970's/80's new york subway influenced whole car wouldnt go down too well with the majority on here then???? rattle rattle rattle!!!!! *cheekily shakes can of aerosol paint* lol ;oP

  • Meanwhile in NYC...=_="

  • What makes them behave so well? We are pigs in this country here. I know how we got this way, just wondering why they are the way they are.

  • Even in Tokyo I was amazed how clean the streets were. The little ashtrays people carry around are so civilized... wish they'd catch on in America.

  • @Jimaera Compared to their obsession of smoking? Im cool.

  • and white people say they are the superior race. HOW?????

  • The more of your videos I see, the more I want to go to Japan!

  • spanish grafitti? embarrassing :(

  • SMH, puts Marta to shame I bet they don't have bums either.....

  • and this is why, i want to go to japan... my dad went there for a business trip and said everything was SPOTLESS

  • I love Japan, I hope i get to visit sometimes, That has been my dream since i was a little child

  • @Yazoku yeah, me too! i love japan and want to visit it.....maybe anytime, if i can. ^^´´´´

  • It is a tough question for Japanese people to answer why trains, stations and streets in Japan are all so clean. The most people there just think if other countries aren't the same. Clean is the normal state in Japan.

So why do you ask? Just clean it if it's dirty.

  • @dzunku1

Germany used to be clean as well. Sweden, too. Denmark, too. Switzerland, too. The Netherlands, too. In fact, the Germanic man loves cleanliness. It comes from the inside. We are a very orderly people.

It's the politics that ruined our countries, not us!

  • @HerrKolosimo You made me realize my poor English. "The most people there just think if other countries aren't the same" meant "The most people there just think that other countries are the same". Sorry if you are offended.

I traveled in Germany five times and loved it in fact. These were more than 10 years ago. I was impressed by industrial design in cities. I remember that Munich airport was very clean in cleanliness and in design. People were surprisingly friendly to us also.

  • @dzunku1

No it's ME who must apologize. I assumed you were a US-American. It was only after I wrote my comment that I clicked on your profile and realized you are Japanese. I respect Japan very much! I think we in Europe can learn a lot from your people. But US-Americans are inferior and at the same time they are always so arrogant "the USA is better" etc., that's why I reacted so harshly to you. Sorry! All the best to you and may Japan always be safe and happy.

  • @HerrKolosimo Oh, that's no problem. I have very fond memories in Germany. We were at a check out counter in a mini supermarket to buy some snack and found that credit card was stopped and we didn't have enough cash. Then a young man behind us offered to pay for us! We were almost shocked with pressure. What a wonderful guy he was and what a great society Germany was! (will continue…)

  • @HerrKolosimo (… continued) I was strolling on a street and was called from behind by a middle aged man with serious face. He asked me if I dropped money. I checked my pocket and found that bills I got from an exchange shop just before was gone. He asked how much it was and I answered. He said that then these must have been mine and gave me the bills. These were naked bills! Who can hate people and a country like this? I respect German and its people deeply. We share the same value.

  • @HerrKolosimo proves that we're not germanic (the english), you ever been to the UK? Filthiest place in Europe!

  • @BenTennison16

Yes, I've been to the UK. It depends. There are dirty places there. But if you have got enough money (like in the USA), you can live in luxury while the people around you starve in the dirt. That's certainly NOT how Germanic people would handle it. But Winston Churchill sold out the British Empire to Roosevelt in 1940, and that was the end of that once proud nation. The imigrants are not to blame. The streets may be dirty but in private homes it's still alright.

  • @HerrKolosimo im sorry mate, but you dont know anything about the UK. And to generalise some germanic people is just plain stupid and racist. Also, did you know that about 70% of the UK is actually mixed? i bet you didnt!

  • @dzunku1 íf you clean it, the next stupid guy behind you will make it dirty. there are a lot of these kind of people every where. the graffity style dirt is kinda art of young people but there are different kind of dirtyness!!!°°´´´´ sry for my english. its even hard for me to explain! xP

  • Spanish graffity?? In Japan?? What? o.O

  • @PeircedinBlood immigrants and/or tourists.

  • I heard that their weren't a lot of trash cans in Japan, so where do they keep their trash?

  • they have their reputation always clean so they don't throw thrash in the streets or everywhere, hope the world can see this culture..

  • everywhere i went was like that. I did see some tagging but it was on train bridges in Shinjuku and thats about it.

  • This is just one of the endless amount of reasons why i'd much rather live in Japan.

Where i live (Denmark) everything (litteraly, everything) is dirty as hell. Even the important historical and governmental buildings are dirty inside and outside.

Most places you cant see the floor because of dirt, and on every train there is graffiti.

Worst part here is that no one cares. If you like cleanliness the schools here in Denmark will be your worst nightmare.

  • This makes me want to move to japan even more....-sighs- <3

  • Don't people look at you speaking english on the train while filming? lol

  • amazing

  • *grabs graffiti* not for long >:) jk :P...no really

  • spanish?

  • UZbekistan tashkent city subway trains are clean like this too! Check it out in wikipedia!

  • agree

  • Its because niggers and spiks are in america and they fucked it up

  • @AjaxpuffNstuff you for president! :D

  • @alexhamster1134 hurray!

  • 3 people like to live in dirty shit holes

  • @hugobossdb, wow...I guess Houston really is left out. D{

  • @hugobossdb, o: So Rails/Subways are really that bad? Wow. I've seriously never been on one.

  • When I went to Australia I felt the same way, even in big cities.

  • Tokoname station?!

  • There was once vomit on a Chicago train!

  • Arg on the trains in Australia they are smothered in filth and graffiti.

  • @xHxCxNinjaxTurtlesx I went on the newest trains in Sydney, and they are already trashed...... fucking society..... i think we should start introducing japanese style law enforcing here..... that will help....... and fuck what other says

  • if you ride the subway in the US, it's full of vandalism and even HIV infested seats. Yikes!

  • You should see New York Cities subways -__- New Yorkers could learn a thing or two about respecting the community they live in.

  • This would a total dream if you got a clean train or train station in the UK but I have never seen a spotless train nor train stations the only thing I have seen clean are first class train carriages and including ist class loos are clean too where train carriages in 2nd class can be the total pits at times with rubbish stuffed down side of the seats and rubbish on the floor so depending where u go guys in the uk if going by train go 1st class is my advice

  • Holy crap you mean they have respect for others, what an amazing concept!

  • @rctsos Trust you haven't been to Shanghai, the Trains are much similar to this, no graffiti at all, don't assume every part in Asian countries look like the same. Quite different across, people and cities...

  • I can see the people mirrored by the train....omg.... XD

  • japanese are perfections...

  • what is crime like there? is it less since people seem to be more mannerable? how is it handled?

  • @Prettypurple1

    Covered it.

    Check the play lists.

  • it's funny, the bus and light rail system in Seattle reminds me a lot of the system in Japan. Very clean, very modern, very tidy. Well, most of them anyway. And I know that's not the norm in the US. Chicago is clean, but old. NYC is both old and dirty. San Fran is old and beat up. The funny thing is, in Japan, ALL trains look immaculate, despite some being 20 years old.

  • OMG! The metro here in LA is a stinky wreck! >_<

  • these trains need sum paint on em

  • MADE IN JAPAN

  • You summed it up well...it is all up to people to keep the trains and public places clean.

  • @vanstonrules Because the ones in NY are moving garbage cans/homeless shelters.

  • Fantastic! Showing us how polite and thoughtful people are in Japan. Thanks for ruining our countries! :P now I don't want to live here, I want to go to Japan.

  • This is one of the things I love about Japan: actually caring about where they dump their trash. Just the other day I was at a stop light and the car in front of me rolled down their windows and dumped out several McDonald's bags, some to-go boxes, handfuls of napkins, bottled drinks, candy wrappers, etc. Even though I see this stuff happen VERY often (almost every week!), I still get a little shocked everytime I see this. This is why I highly respect Japan.

  • The ones in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) are pretty gross. >_< These are really clean.

  • If only other countries could follow japans example. In my opinion Japanese are the most civilized people on the face of the earth. Friendly, Nice, and Clean. Lol I hope it stays that way because when I become a doctor I would love to own a beautiful vacation home with a little garden and a Koi pond and a beautiful Sakura Tree behind it. =D

  • thats so great where i live some one could vomit on the train and they wouldnt clean it up its so gross thats why i never take the train or bus

  • @tmack1337 in my place..nobody sits there even if the train is full.amazing isn't it?

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay here.

  • @tmack1337 learn to read properly son

u know japan has a 100% literacy rate of all able persons

  • Wouldn't it be funny if he's saying all this, then turn the corner and that one guy is doing his business.....

  • that was good

  • i find it amazing how there's no litter, considering how hard (for me at least) it was to find a dustbin

  • omg I remember when I went last summer and I fell in love with the clean!! I hope to go back very soon.

  • and they don't sit on seat reserved for elders and disabled..even if the train is full!!

  • this train is cleaner than my room XD

  • Wow yea that's good. Didn't suprise me though.

  • Lol @ the school girls in the background.

  • Wow,the train don't have even a scratch!! Amazing!!

  • I just find it funny gaijins (foreigners) find it's actually quite something to have everything clean. That's something just what we expect for anything... so imagine when we go outside....UGRRRRR! ガ━━Σ(゚Д゚|||)━━ン!!

  • @rctsos

Singapore is probably the only other country that I would rate. I haven't been back in a few years but my last impression of the place was pretty good.

Definitely PWNS Australia though. But I may be asking for too much since running to (or even close to) schedule is a big enough ask as it is >_<

  • I lived in Japan for three years. I have to say, I do miss it a lot now. It's a great place.

  • so true..so very true...

  • go to the middle of osaka and its dirty.

  • Awesome. Japan loves it clean and organized.

  • Time to go to Japan and get some graffitibombing done then.

  • How is it possible to keep a public area so clean as neat person i love this part of Japan great vid, thanks.

  • Love Japan soo much, your Language is Beautiful, Your Country is beautiful, i would defiantly have to go there soon!

  • Not just clean, but safe. I would take subways all over, and never had any worries, even late at night. Now, if I was a girl it might have been a different story.

  • This really makes you feel safe too when you see things this well maintained and clean! If the outside and inside is that clean you know that train get it's regular mechanical maintenance too!

  • @crazybboy5

    I hate them....

Nice video ! Keep it up!

    5STaRs

  • @hugobossdb

Yes, I dont miss living amongst animals who do that crap.

  • Japanse dont even spit on the ground. My best friend lives in Japan and she says that if a cop catches you, you can get fined for spitting in a public place. Littering in japan is like dirtying (Did i spell that right....?) the country. Japanese have respect for everything around them, unlike a lot of other countries.

  • I know. Unlike people in america, Japanese people won't kill bugs, normally they catch them and put them outside. I've heard it's a Buddhist teaching?

  • @Cluey62

I would imagine so. I didnt know that, though, intresting info...

  • @MikiTheChimera

Oh, no no.. There is no fines when you spit in a public place. I think it is in Singapore.

There is no fines if you spit or throw the garbage on the street in Japan. Don't worry, we are not that strict.

  • I wish people in the U.S. had as much respect for other people as they seem to in Japan. I can't tell you how frequently I see people flick cigarette butts on the ground. One day I watched a guy carrying fast food drop one of the drinks. He paused for just a second, then continued walking and just left in on the ground.

I love public transportation but it can at times be a nightmare in Chicago. It looks so pleasant in Japan by comparison.

  • When you have a clean Train and maintain it really well it will last a life time then trashing it with graffiti

  • You know why that is? Because they keep the immigration under control!

  • Wow, here in Germany there are graffiti all over the train stations!

  • haha, just went there. & that is true

  • I have to agree, when i've been in Tokyo, the place is so tidy it's unreal.

It's not fun returning home, it highlights how much of a tip Newcastle is :(

  • yup, true. I love Jp trains - there are some very ancient ones too - with almost antique charm - they are overnight trains - and look as if they have survived some bad times from the outside - but inside - all old-world comforts. Very warm and cosy in winter, very clean.

  • Thanks for creating this video, at least worldwide monkeys from asia through western europe should learn that so clean public transportation really exist on earth and it looks naturally beautiful!!! :D

  • Unfortunately, you're right. The prisons would soon fill and the wheels would fall off society if they had the same diversity as western countries.

  • Why? So they could suddenly have graffiti/crime/illiteracy/impoliteness/crudeness/social ambivolence and no moral compass at all? Or is that the point of your sarcasm?

  • so clean they even do porn in them =)

  • I would be definitely tempted to do a graffiti, lol, but after watching your videos about the negative stuff, I think I would think it twice XD...

anyways. great videos and 5 starsss.

  • haha look the difference between this train and china train looooool

  • The last time I was in Japan, Kyoto, I accosted a Japanese housewife to practice my Japanese on her.

She froze, then turned and went away from me at a speed I could not ever have imagined a woman of her years could muster.

She must have thought she had seen a ghost.

Too much orderliness may render a Japanese unable to cope with the unexpected chaos brought on by a Ganjin.

I have never tried talking since without someone making an introduction for me. I was lucky not to get into trouble then

  • Maybe not much different to the reaction a big foreigner would get "accosting" an American housewife on the street in America to "practice English" on her???

  • @CommanderUTube

    I think there are some reasons;

    1) As most of Japanese people are very shy, she is one of those shy people.

    2) Most of Japanese can't not speak English, so even you spoke in Japanese, she might have thought you spoke in English and run away

    3) Kyoto is a ultra conservative city. they tend to cliquey compared to other cities in Japan.

Please do try to speak to Japanese in Tokyo, I am sometimes asked by foreigners, and I talk with them normally.

  • @sheepandgreen

I felt quite bad for unintentionally frigtening that woman. My Japanese sensei suggested that my tone could have been too rough. My favorite Japanese movies tended to be the "Seven Samura" type. To that woman, my sincere apologies!

  • Yeah, it really makes you feel like you are living in the jungle.

    Time to check on that immigration info. <_<;

  • ARGGHHHHHHHhhhh I seriously don't know why Australia isn't like this!! Man we must a bunch of lazy bloody morons! I can't wait to go to Japan! My sister went there last year and she went to a park (forget what is was called..) Somewhere in Tokyo and even though there were so many trees there we absolutly no leaves on the ground! They pay workers to pick up leave!! hahaha

  • That is why I dont live in Oz any more....

most people don't care about anyone but themselves and young dudes are often aggressive and destructive..

Australia would be as clean as Japan if everyone wanted it to be.. but too many of them don't care!

  • Comment removed

  • i was sooo impressed with their train system. here in LA the trains are smelly and downright gross.

  • HOLY Flippen Cow, I am so racist to non Japs, Sorry.

I'll make a video of Australian trains, besides them being dangerous the Graffiti every where, plus writing shit all over the windows with knives and sharp objects... i forgot where I was going but yeah...

  • Yeah, that is yet another reason why I don't live there any more!

(Miss some of the funny buggers though!)

By the way.. the word "Jap" is highly offensive to Japanese... I am sure you didn't know that when you used it, mate.

  • It seems like every single countries have those but i guess the Japanese got more money and replace the windows more often. Cityrail's L,R and S sets of trains all replaced there windows. I never saw one window without scratch marks on them ever before.

  • Why would they replace the windows?

    They don't get vandalized.

  • The ones in australia do

  • I know.

That is one of the 100 reasons I don't live there any more :-D

  • sry but ur living in la la land

  • Really?

    I love it :-D

  • not you lol, I meant @ 97268324 channel name

  • LOLOL well its a typical country. You can hardly find 1 country in the world which is perfect, eastern countries might have excellent transport systems in there capitals but look at there countryside, theres hardly electricity(not referring to Japan). Japan is a great country to live in but so is Australia.

  • now i feel how bad sydney public transport is compared to tokyo

  • wow, if only canada's trains were like this.

    just...wow. Im in awe.

  • Wow, those trains are clean. I was in NYC for vacation a month ago, and those trains were icky. xD

  • haha only in english and spanish, dam foreigners lol

  • i cant belive it!! everything is soooo... perfect...

  • singapore's trains are very clean too.

  • that is correct lol.

  • Your making me so jealous! I really want to go on vacation there so bad T.T Keep up the good work!

  • thanks!

working on more videos right now!

  • lol me to.. I've wanted to go to japan for years..Japan seems to be the cleanest place in the world...

  • I have been to many counties around the world but I live here because it is a harmonious place to live.

  • were you in Tokyo?

  • I often go to Tokyo, but this was shot in Nagoya.

  • Wow...Lol nothing like New York subways ;)

  • are you aussie?

  • yes

  • Just a quick question... About how much does the average train ride cost in Japan?

  • depends where you go.. around the city 300-700 yen would be average

around the country... 10-30,000 yen maybe

  • Oh. In Victoria theres rubbish all over the floor, bottles of urine rolling around, graffiti everywhere, seats torn and the list goes on.

  • Sounds unpleasant - where is Victoria?

  • Oh, Victoria is in Australia.

  • Ah, yes, that Victoria..

That is another reason why I don't live in Oz any more.

Amazing that people "shit in their own nest"

  • Our trains don't look close to that.

You would think the trains in little Norway would be well kept. Think again.

I think it has a lot to do with respecting things that aren't yours. And understanding what will happen if nobody cares.

Another pro towards going to Japan.

  • You are so right about respecting things that aren't yours!

Nobody would even think of damaging a train because they want to live in a nice environment and know they want to ride that train again!

And they would never damage or steal something that belonged to someone else - would not even cross their minds!

It is one reason that Japan has one of the lowest crime rates in the world!

  • I've heard that "Japan has one of the lowest crime rates in the world!", but they have the best-organized criminal group: Yakuza.

"Maybe few, but the best" :]

    It's true?

  • Yakuza are into organised crime.

They extort money from business owners mainly in the big city.

Young girls are usually safe to walk the streets, bikes usually dont get locked and you can usually leave your wallet on the table in a bar and it wont get stolen.

I feel another video coming on!!
