i love bands with epic instrumentals and songs that go on for 6-9 minutes. ive recently been getting into sigur ros and they sound so beautiful. these are the true geniuses of music
@bigpimpdaddy69 Agreed. Music is so much more then catchy phrases and over played synth tunes. I enjoy music that paints a magnificent sound scape when I close my eyes. But sadly many people have forgotten what real music is - and even how to listen to music! Nothing beats kicking back with some truly breathtaking music and a great set of cans.
Everything has a resonance. Resonance phenomena occur with all types of vibrations or waves: there is mechanical resonance, acoustic resonance, electromagnetic resonance, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), electron spin resonance (ESR) and resonance of quantum wave functions. Resonant systems can be used to generate vibrations of a specific frequency (e.g. musical instruments), or pick out specific frequencies from a complex vibration containing many frequencies.
@lisie82167 i held the hand of grandfather as he died... this song is the soundtrack to that pain... its the joy of life, the build of age, the rage of death and the bliss of eternity...
It reminds me of the kind of song you would hear after rising from the ashes in The Terminator. That sort of futuristic apocalyptic sound from the 1980's.
Yes we can hear all sounds....the sound of the moon, the stars, Jupiter and even the sound of pebbles lying on a beach....set your mind to it, because sometimes hearing doesn't involve your ears......
To everyone who loves this song, read a book called "The Road" by Cormac Mccarthy. It is the novelistic equivalent to this song - both are equal in their desolate and harrowing nature. You won't be disappointed, however i warn you, the "The Road" is what you might call emotional molestation.

That would make an excellent movie, if music like this played depending on a certain situation and you and anyone else who you were sharing this moment with could hear it if you were sharign the same feelings in that particular moment in time

There is a constant, defined soundtrack in life, like in the movies. We, humans, do not have the ability to hear it. The unique sounds of our own earth have been replaced by jet sounds, cars, trains_anything man-made!! But yet, the stars, the moon, even our own sun have their unique sound. Too bad, we can't hear them!!
@Cryingchicken You have the scientific view of this, which i like. Yet, NiceNbreezy has a more spiritual and emotional view.. And look at which one more people "agreed" with. It's interesting.
Well, taking into account that NiceNBreezy's reaction was posted 10 months ago, and Cryingchicken's 8 months ago: 10/8*55=68.75, almost the same as NiceNbreezy... Furthermore, top hits tend to be most read, creating a bias. In the end, I would call it a tie;-)
@Cryingchicken i was thinking about this again and when you say "we can't hear them", you should be saying " we choose not to hear them because it is very hard to" . These objects still make the sounds, it just takes someone who WANTS to hear them to notice it.
Sound can travel through space, because space is not the total vacuum it's often made out to be. Atoms of gas give the universe a ubiquitous atmosphere of sorts, just a very thin one. Sound, unlike light, travels by compressing a medium. On Earth, the atmosphere works well as a sound-carrying medium, as does water. The planet itself is very adept at transmitting an earthquake's seismic waves, a form of sound.
@NiceNbreezy with modern day technology, we can. we've decoded sound waves coming from them, and we have sounds of all our planets and even the sun (although the bass had to be reduced QUITE a bit.) Just search it up on youtube.
@NiceNbreezy Of course we can't here them, there's a perfect logical explonation for that, there is no sound in outer-space :), the closest we get to hearing the earth is when an earthquake strikes, or a volcano errupts.
@NiceNbreezy What unique sound? I understand your spiritual take on it, but what sound man..like nature sounds? waves crashing, leaves blowing, snowflakes falling?
@NiceNbreezy very interesting to think about................... sound is a crazy thing, for u are right everything makes sound, could u consider silence a sound?,,,,,why does sound need gravity to exist, why do we humans enjoy sound,,,,,, are there sounds out there we have no concept of just as dogs have no concept of color? could sound be the foundation of creation. and how could an invisible object be slower that light, What does sound, sound like on Jupiter. I would love to hear alien sounds
I love how this song in the end in gives you all these rushing synths and crashing drums with sad and yearning strings and then destroys it all leavig you with the one sustaning string.

Every time I listen to this song
I think of my uncle who died infront of me when i was 15.
It was the first time I seen death when I told myself growing up
"I never experienced someone who's died in my family" I said this for years.
Then all of a sudden.. gone
the song builds up
and at 3:03 I just picture myself screaming at the top of my lungs.
Cause I knew I can never get back what life has taken away from me.
