I have discoverd Abney park a few months ago and I love their music.

Now this is gonna sound crazy and weak, but I suffer from a pretty bad panic/anxiety disorder.

A few weeks ago I had to go get some shopping. The only one who could go with me was an 18 y/o girl with hardly any experience with those kind of problems and we had to walk. (I'm not lazy, but ina panic I can hardly walk.)

I got myself together and went anyway. When I came back I had this song in my head.

I personally prefer the clockwork qaurtet, the reason being that their songs sound like a clock. The beat is jerky like a robot or clockwork and it plays a ticking clock in the background. Also the lyrics act like and are sung like this. I havn't looked much into it but if abney park have a song like that could you point me out.

@TheKirbyxox The difference is that the Clockwork Quartet started up as a steampunk group, whereas Abney Park did not.

Abney park was originally a sort of electronic-ish gothic rock band. Their pre-steampunk stuff is actually very good, and their newer stuff truly follows the same model, the only difference being that there's a steampunk theme in the lyrics now.

@TheShredDokter I think I can explain with a few things. 1) The singer's voice is raspy which Till's can be in songs as well. 2) Each element while working in harmony is still separate and distinct this is a common trait of NDH which Rammstein is a part. 3) The use of an accordion, many songs dealing with the sea can be equated with Reise, Reise with the accordion use. 4) Electric elements to accompany more traditional music. Again common to the Rammstein's style of music.

This Band (Singer) is Amazing!! Been awhile since I heard music that sent chills in a "This is some damn good music right here!" kind of way :) I've always loved his Voice, it's so...Powerful, for having no other way I know to describe it. I first descovered Abney Park more than 5 years ago easy. ALL Abney Park had at that time was "Stigmata Martyr" & I actually had the honor of talking to him on his Message Board....I'm so glad Abney Park got launched. I always knew he had potencial :)
