Ok guys, that's an intriguing function of this power shot camera: it can take different exposures of the subject AND the background and combine them.

He going with legs to people but zoom out with camera and then going back of people and zoom in with camera. Sorry for my english but im Bulgarian :)

@daltonkunkel It's called a "Dolly Zoom".

He was walking closer and further from the guy as he was zooming in and out, just as atisas2 said.

Search wikipedia and youtube about this and you'll see the effect used in other places, very common in the movie industry.
