When I saw Kirk Cameron's "Fireproof" at the church I was attending, the other members thought it was a great film. I thought it was good only in the sense of an amateur production being good. I live in the Netherlands where there's mostly a tolerant view towards homosexuals and it's mostly accepted as a form of love, which it is, but even in this culture there's still this 'ewww...' attitude towards homosexuality. The facts on the ground are that not everything is gay, a small subset of non-breeders is good for the group as a whole, breeding shouldn't be and isn't always/usually sexually motivated, and homosexuality is not infectious, so what does this have to do with anything?
Plus, it'd be nice if you linked sperm counts to gays getting rights, or gave sources for that claim; a mechanism of 'gay rights therefore low sperm counts' would be nice, i'm unsure of the molecular biology behind it.

I've been having trouble finding out what's so special about a so-called objective moral system. What does it mean for your morals to be objective even - surely its objectively true that I have certain desires and emotional reactions, that the community has certain laws and customs, that some things are in my individual interest, that others are in the societies interest, all of these are objectively true, what does it add to say your morals are objective?

I will say that a movie on a subject like this would at least probably draw some interest, I think it would only work if based on a true story from an unbiased perspective. When I saw Kirk Cameron's "Fireproof" at the church I was attending, the other members thought it was a great film. I thought it was good only in the sense of an amateur production being good. We should not confuse or excuse problems which have real causes because they exist elsewhere. The facts on the ground are that not everything is gay, a small subset of non-breeders is good for the group as a whole, breeding shouldn't be and isn't always/usually sexually motivated, and homosexuality is not infectious, so what does this have to do with anything?
Plus, it'd be nice if you linked sperm counts to gays getting rights, or gave sources for that claim; a mechanism of 'gay rights therefore low sperm counts' would be nice, i'm unsure of the molecular biology behind it.

Anything could be morally objective by that criteria, if the person were stuck in their ways, and i'm uncertain how it helps guide our actions or even how it being unlikely for those individuals or communities holding to a moral system makes that system objective. Normative realitivism (you should be tolerent of other moral systems) is an objective system in itself - not one i agree with, but by the definition that its unliekly to change any time soon, it would be objective.

He was used to strongly support jesus' actual existence. Since then I have heard many people tell me some of his writings are forgeries. the line "a man named jesus and he was lord" (or something similar) was given as undeniable proof of jesus physical existence and divine identity. I would love more information on this if you get time. also, what made you reconsider your faith? How long did it take you to realise you were atheist? I am an ex catholic too. i can relate.

Thanks but no thanks. I'll stick to movies like "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians", "Plan Nine From Outer Space" and "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes". Homophobia is nothing to laugh at.

Oh so we have yet another low-budget religious movie set to bomb this year. Yay.
You know, I can't believe sometimes that this is the 21st Century. Here is is 2008, and there's an anti-gay propaganda movie being given a theatrical release.
Of course, the amusing part is that it's a response to the overwhelming acceptance of homosexuality in mainstream America. At this point, this film is too little, too late. Epic fail.

Ah, well I just watched the trailer and let me just say that.. damn the acting looks like it sucks. Some people may be into bad acting but when it's that evident, I usually have a problem.
Plus the message definitely is not something I would want to advertise. Though people are free to do as they please in that respect.
