i must have watched all your youtube vids-very interesting.you have patience of steel i must say that.such a shame with the mg though.after all that work.good luck to you and all your family-keep making more films they get better all the time.
ive been welding for 40 years and im up to british standard welding have welded all the channal tunnal air ducting and caneary warlf in london you should have come to me for the welding it wouldhave sailed the mot also ive done 7 - 10 restoration job in my life its just a pitty you wasnt living next to me the welding would have taken me a week to do costing around £1,200 quid but done properly still you live and learn
Replacing the bushings is fairly easy I know you can do that.
You may have to send the car out to get some 'adequate welding' done just to impress this MOT guys. Get some quotes, I hope you can get it on the road, don't give up never surrender.
Well Sid - Looks as if on your MOT failure, most is the Welding. Have some leasons before you start your next car, it will help you. I got a welder to teach me and I am still learning. I could not have done what you did in 14 months I am still at it for nealy 4 years this coming October. Keep your chin up, and best of luck for the future.
The so called stuff I use for under car projection is called Tetro Schutz, Best way to applie to the car is by using a small air compressor and gun. Schutz should only be used on the outside of car body. If used inside of body work i.e box sections it will catch fire when welding. For inside of box section I use Waxoil.
I'd give it a few days, maybe a few weeks, and then revisit it. Time has a way of clearing your thoughts and re-lighting the fire. It doesn't seem terminal to me. Best of luck!

I think if you had used new floor pans and boot pan sills you would have been ok,keep the panels and buy one with a good shell.

Don't lose heart Roger, This was a massive task! and you cant win the all!
We all learn from our mistakes, u see it as a bad thing, me i see it as a good lesson of what to look out for next time.
Just think next car u look at you'll be underneath looking at exactly what needs done or how much welding.
I still think u can make a good profit just ebay all the parts off & be ££ in : D
But make sure you carry on, it's about the only good channel on You Tube& Well worth the subscribing! ; )

It's a shame that such a good looking car will never be driven again :(. Mind you, it looks a lot better than when it was pulled out of the pond eh
