  • Ohh Space 1999 I never missed an episode........ those were the days

  • Is this our future - we'll all be required to wear bell bottoms?

  • i love spazio 1999 ..... conosco tutto a memoria ... l'ho sempre adoratoooooooooooo <3

lo so che ora ... sembra un po' sorpassato ..... ma i telefilm restano di un incanto unico ....

  • @0808Lene youtube.com/watch?v=jxsa3_f6iGQ

  • I loved this show..also UFO..Yes it might seem dated now..but that was all we had back then..thank you for uploading

  • They had the ships down, especially those eagles. We will have them that way, unti we can get over thrusted propulsion.

  • I always loved this show - looking at it now [as I often do] it is a bit daft, but that doesn't matter. At all. And yet, I marvel at just how dark it could get [the smoking, decayed corpses in 'Death's Other Dominion', and especially in 'Dragons Domain' scared the shit out of my kid brother, and I hated Anton Zoref's charred body in 'Force Of Life'],but we HAD to watch it, as it always looked superb. Oh, and look in the 11th Doctor's TARDIS - he's got some of Moonbase Alpha's lights in it!

  • @brianartillery Right on... many of us liked this show. It had Martin Landau so right of the bat they could get you to believe something from the script. Overall it had a great feel to it no matter what the budget was.

  • @abbeykroeter Indeed. Martin Landau, Barbara Bain and Barry Morse could spout the most outrageous technobabble and you'd take it as gospel. It was a show that really fed the imagination; my brother and I each had a Dinky Toy Eagle model [still got one], and played with them incessantly. Add a box of Airfix astronauts - utter bliss in the summer holidays. Great show, and I still love it.

  • My first true Sci-Fi film , I've ever seen . Teardrop in my eye occured .

  • space and funk..yeah man...

  • Nice Orbiter space flight simulator screenshot in there. (Eagle and ISS) like it!

  • I always liked season 1 more than season 2. In season 2 , the theme song, and command centre, was changed. and the episodes took on a more light hearted ( funny ) feel to it. It just got silly with the second season

  • The best TV theme tune EVER??!! - Forget the Season 2 intro (that was crap)

  • Are all the episodes in about a dozen parts which we have to spend time and effort hunting down and making into a playlist?

Sometimes it's hard or impossible to find the parts, they're scattered all over youtube.

  • I so want to pilot an Eagle. My favourite sc-fi spacecraft ever.

  • Space adventure in the 70's, only second to the 50's.

  • As much as i loved (and still do) this show...I have one question: How many Eagles did they have on that base? It seemed as though each episode had one getiing blown up or otherwise destroyed. Great show anyway, am enjoying it on DVD atm.

  • I can you beat that theme. The best ever!

  • Barbara Bain was very cute, but Mr. Landau,s best sci-fi was back in the original "Outer Limits" from the early 60,s. I think he made 2 or 3 of them back in the old days.

  • OMG the 70s rocks!

  • Incredibly stirring, especially that funky seventies space guitar.

  • Intro's are not nearly as good as the ones from the 60's and 70's!

  • I happen to have this joint on vinyl c/o RCA records. Whenever I hear it,it takes me back to when I was very young. Lol.

  • Has anyone seen either Martin Landau or Barbara Bain lately ?

The Years have been Kind......... If there is an Overhaul adn Remake of the Original Show they would get Cool Cameos...

  • this was the first season theme...although it was a little campy it also was one of the most believable around that time. the design of the eagle actually looks viable as a working cargo ship.

could truth be stranger than fiction, i have a feeling that there may be moon bases but they are black ops and kept secret from the public.

  • I know what i will see after i watched the stagrate series and GE999

  • I remember watching this show the same time I started jr. high school.

  • I would like to find some of the eagle models again, just to build them and superdetail them.

  • still waiting for my spacefucking shipinstead i got a shit vauxhall astra

  • just magic, cheers

  • wow...the future is reall funky

  • Gareth Hunt at 0:39!

  • German TV: Mondbasis Alpha 1

  • What a great theme song!! I still love it now in 2011!

  • First season theme for Space: 1999 rocks!

  • really trippy as fuck when yer look back the clothes,3 tv channels the uk shutingdown over the weekend, last orders fish and chips and strikes yeah they were the good old days

  • My kids love it !

  • Ahh 1999, I remember those times where I would visit the moon base, until the moon started drifting off into space of course....

  • Best pre-Star-Wars tv sci-fi show! Loved it growing up until I learned enough about true astronomical distances to spoil the premise.

  • Catchy theme, but that's the only thing the show had going. The show itself is a painful gallery of the misconceptions '70s psychology had about human behavior.

  • CRAP!!! This is not the original theme! The original theme was more "Wagnarish". I know! I was a kid watching it!

  • The couple from Mission Impossible were married werent they?

  • @Mad826 yup just looked up Barbara Bain in wikipedia and it says "She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Actress in a Television Series for her performance in Mission: Impossible in 1968. She won three consecutive Emmys for Best Dramatic Actress for that series in 1967, 1968, and 1969.[1]

Her then husband, Martin Landau, also starred in the series, and her departure from the series in 1969 coincided with his. "

  • very cool :)

  • An absolute genius show from the 70's

  • OMG... Every week when I was 10 or 11, I was so pissed I missed premiere episode... I was glued to the TV... I know the premise is highly unlikely, but I like the style, approach...

  • yes times are not the same. i wish i could go back to the 70s!!!!

  • It was a great series! My husband, son and myself never missed it!

  • Reminds me of my childhood!

  • I got the Whole series on DVD a few years ago for the Holidays.

After watching 7 Episodes of teh show I realised I was back in 1975 again, and that was Sweet.

What a Story for a Remake. Only Patrick Stewart could play Professor Victor Bergmann, the Nobel Peace Prize Winning Scientist who is on Moonbase Alpha.

  • @Roadracer987654321 Make it so,number one.

  • Space 1999 theme; awe and wonder.

    UFO; alert.

Ultra seven; day saved, happy end.

Each time I hear those three themes, I just shudder.

  • Loved this as a kid!! Oh my gosh the memories!! Hang on a minute where's the bird that could change into animals?? Swear it was this!! Pls tell me i'm not wrong!!?

  • @TheDoreenknox

This theme is from season one...Maya was introduced in the first episode of season two (although Catherine Schell herself appeared in a episode of s1 as the Servant of the Guardian of Piri).

  • I have the soundtrack of this joint right here in vinyl. I brought it used and it works very, very good. Thanks for posting it.

  • i was 4 years old when space 1999 first aired on UK tv...my dad let me stay up to watch it...the theme alone gives me chills..there were some very scary episodes in the first season..i have of course re-discovered them all on DVD and i still love this show..and OMG Barbara Bain and Martin Landau are still acting in their 80s!!! way to go ....

  • too bad no live orchestra on you2b

  • I just loved this. I need to buy the dvd's

  • oups.. this girl with the short hair .. she kina looks like bjork

  • wow i missed shows like thses this is the most underrated tv theme of all time

  • Anyone else remember the episode where Brian Blessed rots at the end? Alpha Thulie or something....well cool.

  • @TheMasterNo6

your thimking of death's other dominion

  • @azzorroww Thats the one. :) Will tell you a bit of trivia, John Shrapnel was also in that episode, he married Deborah Kerr's younger daughter. bet you didn't know that.

  • @TheMasterNo6

I remember that episode - good story, the awesome Blessed, John Shrapnel, and the epic rotting scene. They don't make kids tv like that anymore...

  • @TK42138 Yes it was a goodun.

  • Awesome.

  • Sends shivers up my spine!

  • @vb6041 Should check out Geoff Love's funky version.

  • @vb6041 Such a great theme song! I love it too!!

  • Funny how 1999 looked a lot like the 1970s back then.

  • @LFransson Funny how 1999 looks a lot like 2012.

  • Excellent work on this outstanding theme. After all this years this music still make me fill chills and a sense of awe.

  • The first season was great, a very under-rated show

  • Now, This was One Wild Theme with one Wild Set of Titles.

Why hasn't a Proper Big Screen Theatrical Overhaul and Remake been done of this TV Show. Come on Uncle Keith Shackleton. Get Gerry Anderson on the Phone !

Only Sir Patrick Stewart could fill the Shoes of The Late Barry Morse as Nobel Peace Prize Winning Scientist Dr. Victor Bergmann who gets taken for a ride when The Moon and Moonbase Alpha Get Blasted out of Earth's Orbit in a Freak Nuclear Accident & Explosion,Keith, I will call you

  • @Roadracer987654321 Why did they let Victor Bergmann go? - Did he die during the first season filming? He made the entire show worth watching. After he was gone, space 1999 went the same way as "lost in space". Staring with a heady sort of group oriented science fiction that was at least enjoyable, despite being so far-fetched. - They got the idea then to add thrills chills and spills and the entire thing became "kiddie fare".

  • @dynagravitomagnetic According to Imdb:

"Barry Morse decided to leave the series after Season 1 had ended. An explanation of his absence was written into the first episode of Season 2, "The Metamorph", but never made it to the finished episode. Dialog was to indicate he had been in a faulty spacesuit. "

  • at 0:23 the theme is exactly the same as in crysis 2 mission 2 and even the theme of mission to mars is in crysis 2 coincidence?

  • I put away a lot of Space Food Sticks and Faygo sodas watching this show, lemme tell ya.

  • Why, oh why did they scrap this tune for Season 2?

  • Me and my brother were mad on this when we were kids. The school staplers were like Space '99 ray guns and could do more damage

  • one my favorite sci fi shows!

  • @knoskillerr666 Yes! And of course you know......"Anything can happen in the next half hour!"

  • Eagles seem to be a lot better than shuttles, have a look NASA.

  • This Show would Fill the Movie Houses if Done Right as a Big Screen Remake.,

Bruce Willis as Moonbase Commander John Koenig would work. Sir

Patrick Stewart as Nobel Peace Prize Winning Scientist Professor Victor Bergmann would be Perfect. Bring Back Alpha Moonbase and Eagle One.

  • i always did wonder, why, when the moon got blown away from earths orbit, why they didnt all freeze to death as they were blown further from the sun? mabee they had good Double glazing and cavity wall insulation.

  • good god, what a tune!

  • BEST intro eva!!!!!

  • this is awesome even when played to day .....when this music came on those old tv sets years ago . you just new you where in for a power house of intertainment

  • 0:22 This Episode! Eagle collides with ISS! LOL

I like the first few seconds of the theme, the drum rolling, followed by the dramatic loudness of the brass and strings. The bass guitar is really funny when listening to it now.

  • why did they get rid of this epic space funk score in series two?

  • composer barry gray i liked year twos theme by derek wadsworth but barrys orchestral work for year one of space 1999 is uncomparable love it when i was a kid still do today

  • Hands down the coolest part of this show for me was always, always, the sets (including the ships). Of all the sci-fi worlds, this one still takes my breath away unlike any other. I am so pissed off that the real 1999 looked nothing like this.

  • @stevel738 Me too!( A 60 yr. old hippie, grandma ) in Toronto, Canada.

  • The American Dr. Who!!!!!!!!!

  • @Wyobiker1 it was a british show like doctor who

  • I was a teenager when this show came out. At the time I thought the premise was pathetic. An explosion so big it caused the moon to travel the galaxy a la "Lost in Space" style?

I recall making fun of most episodes.

And yet I believe I watched most of the episodes .........

  • Thank you, poster, for a superior audio version of this theme. You must have peeled it off your stereo somehow. Naturally, I miss the images though. Odd to think that the brassy power of the first first several measures is every bit as powerful as the Straus that inspired it...

  • Thanks for the post. Awesome show. I wish SciFi channel would get rid of that b-rated crap they put on every Saturday night and put on some classic sci-fi like this. Even better... the redid Galactica, why not this?? Anything is better that the garbage they have on now.

  • Does anyone else think the Eagles looked like. . . well you know....

  • @riverdale999 After all these years i never really noticed...but when you mentioned it

    yes they do.

  • Love The Very Spooky Out - tro Theme @ 1.07 min. I Think This Was The UK Version Of Star Trek, Although About 15years Late But Probably Made On The Same Budget! BRRRRRRRIIILIANT!!

  • Love this soundtrack, thanks so much for sharingggg....a fan from spain

  • Brilliant!

  • One of the best intro themes ever! - Surely.. :-)

  • @utMagicMushroom ive never seen the show only heard the really awsome theme is the show good?

  • Well, it depends on your point of view. If you like sort-of corny sci fi, with outrageous costumes, way out plots and average effects - then this is the show for you! As it turns out - I love that sort of stuff. :-)

  • @utMagicMushroom

well if i happen to see it on tv i may has well watch it : )

  • @draklorian it was a good show, especially in the earlier seasons. It's such a pity an updated version would be crap because i'd love to see it come back today.

  • @utMagicMushroom fekin "A" dude wat a tuuuunnnee! ;)

  • @utMagicMushroom Don't call me Shirley!

  • @utMagicMushroom

Its one of the best - and don't call me Shirley!

  • @utMagicMushroom I have always liked it too!

  • @utMagicMushroom I love it too! It is nice to hear it again!
