Lana del Rey...plagiaire...hahaha! Classique! Look for an artist NOBODY knows in your country, rip his/her music off, hope no one will notice, and...BINGOOO!
This is a nice little song/performance, but it is not such an original chord change. Sounds like the type of thing Leonard Cohen would've written every ten minutes in the sixties, which he probably heard off of some obscure record somewhere. I don't mean to hate on this at all, but people shouldn't hate on Lana Del Rey either just because she managed to have a hit song with an actual melody
i've just read about interview of lana del rey on french journal she didnt like one question of a journalist that she took the song of eleni with video song games, now i listen the original version and i think it's true lana is a rude plagiator, greetings from Algeria
i listen to eleni all the time and its so weird to me that this song has been related to lana del rey (whether she plagiarized it or not), i feel like 2 different worlds I'm "a part of" have just been combined in a unexpected way :s
this song uses similar melodic progressions but that happens... it's not spot-on nor is the structure of the two pieces even -remotely- similar... this song lacks any of the bridges that are in "video games"... iuno... -could- be a rip-off but i it's doubtful...
"Vedeo Games" is a plagiarism and I think there should be a lawsuit; The melody is the same even if the background and key are different. Eleni Vitali (aka Ελένη Βιτάλη) released this song 20 years prior to Lana Del Rey in 1991.
The thing is when you think "how the fuck could've ever Lana del Rey got to this song when no one in the fucking universe (till now) ever heard of it?"! I mean, it's not like this song it's a world wide hit of a known artist! It could be a simple coincidence! I got my mind blank about the subject, it gets even more crazy in my head!
This is older than Lana's song but if anything she would have gotten the idea from the beat. this chick sings about loved roads and stuff lol not close even close to the lyrics from video games

I'd think it's just honest coincidence, really. Same note sequence - other "artists" have done much worse and have gotten away with it.

One has to be tone deaf to think Video Games was plagiarised from this song...

@TheRedRainn the melody does sound similar. you're in denial if you disagree.

I wish I could find a proof this song is effectively some years old, any evidence that this is very anterior to Lana Del Rey ??

@ericlecuriste This song is from the 1990 album "Oi dromoi pou agapisa" (streets I loved). I think you can find it on grooveshark or itunes

@YouTfts This song is from 1990, so I think Lana del Ray's writers picked this one up! Copy, note for Note!
