  • He was a true master - when he let everyone learn to be very pleasant.

  • I had the pleasure of taking classes with Tanya in Los Angeles. She helped me transformed my practice.

  • Chubby? He is full bodied and strong as an ox, and super flexible. His own practice is incredible. Start there, and then everything else falls into place. We are all performing in the play of life, and it can also be authentic. it is the watching where the magic is.

  • too much harping on the asana is just boring.

  • hmmm... I didn't think I was going to like John Friend based on things I've read, but I did like him and his ability to bring joy to the poses. Yep, he's a little chubby, but so what - yoga is not about judgment, it's actually about non-judgment. And have you seen the photos of the yoga masters from India, they're all a little chubby in the belly.

  • This is ridiculous. These are young women; this no more than a workout; his language is silly (melty???). He is overweight and not much more than a performer.

  • @RevaWard Whats even more ridiculous is your strong opinions about something you obviously know nothing about.

  • Inspiring stuff. I like what he said about radiating in each posture.

  • to each his own

  • It doesn't get better than John Friend, 800 yogis in Estes Park, and the beautiful and graceful Tanya Beilke on stage demonstrating the asanas! I was one of the lucky 800 yogis able to be present for this historical event and it is something I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you John, Tanya, and Yoga Journal for putting this event together. When is the next one? :) Buy the DVD! You won't regret it!
