  • @tripyerb sure no prob. the fingering tabs are linked in the video description.

  • hahaa i love you this is awesome

actually though you played the penny whistle with your nose :O

stupid charlie putting lies into my brain

  • СПАСИБО ЗА ТАБЫ!!!! ОГРОМНОЕ!!!

  • @MaxenAdventurer Пожалуйста! : D

  • my soul needs this whistle..

  • you have done well young hobbit

  • dude, i hate you! you make it look so easy!!! i just figgered out which end you blow into...

  • thanks for the tabs, ive been playing by ear and missing some notes.

  • I really love lord of the rings and its music, but you can really hear titanic in there too. Great job by the way xD i love that sound

  • just great man! saludos desde Argentina!

  • clark original penny whistle is a sweeter sound but everyone has their own preference.

  • where did you buy this histle and how much?

  • Wow. That's an impressive skill you got there.

  • Wow how much do one of those cost? Sounds millions better than my sweetone (albeit was pretty cheap)

  • Blimey.... How'd you afford one've those Burke's?!

  • @THEFINALHAZARD Christmas present!! Woo hoo!

  • @HelioIgnus Lucky!

  • @HelioIgnus This... this is just beautiful man, its so nostalgic in a way, it just brings peace to my mind whenever I hear this. I subscribed

  • guapa guapa un saludo desde spain

  • Epic, sounds nothing like when I play it, mostly because I'm terrible.

  • @Carn55 This was one of those songs-I-play-every-time-I-pick-up-the-whistle, so you just have to annoy your friends and family by playing it over and over and over until your fingers play it for you and you don't have to think about it :D

  • @HelioIgnus Well, isn't that pretty much how you learn any song on any instrument? Nicely done, by the way.

  • @Zoidberg227 nah, once you're an instrumental master you can just play something as soon as you hear it. But yeah I see what u did there :D

  • hehehe! Heliolgnus, you ought to write a song called "Suck My Balls, Asshole!" on your tin whistle, and dedicate it to all these fools that are talking down to you! Nice playing, man!

  • @Pyroesuna Oh yeah coz wikipedia is 100 per cent accurate. Suck my balls asshole. :)

  • @ohmypregnanthead Lol and you thought you were 100 percent accurate. Try not sounding like a high school dropout.

  • This would be "Concerning Hobbits" FROM The Lord of the Rings music by Howard Shore. It's not "The" Lord of the Rings "theme" if their is such a thing.

    other than that good whistling

  • @12Macedonian12 I know. I'm not going to change it, and I don't care. I think very few people do. You know what might be neat though: you could go around and post that on all of the other videos (there are quite a lot) that say 'lord of the rings theme' and see who cares. Oh oh! You could go to the one titled "Sir James Galway plays 'the lord of the rings'" and complain that he's not actually "playing" the Lord of the Rings, but a song from the movie. Other than that, thanks.

  • @HelioIgnus

LoL I'm not asking you to change it. I know your mocking my unnecessary critique. LoL Sorry man it's not an insult. I posted that at one in the morning so let me rephrase.

You might be interested to know that this tune is called "Concerning Hobbits" by Howard Shore. I liked your playing. I have messed with this tune my self on my mandolin. Good job.

  • @12Macedonian12 haha I'm sorry for reacting like that. Over the past 2 days people have given me more unnecessary grief on youtube (like that "TIN WHISTLE douchebag!!!" comment) than in the entire past year. Someone even fished up a comment I left in another video from 3 years ago, and reacted in a manner I would never have suspected. Text is tough. Anyway, thanks very much. My friend also took up the mandolin so that's awesome! Post vids!

  • Thats TIN WHISTLE douchebag!!!

  • @ohmypregnanthead only if I choose to call it that.

  • @ohmypregnanthead actually it's penny whistle as well because before they were made of tin they were mad of wood and they cost a "penny." even wikipedia knows that.... douchebag

  • @ohmypregnanthead

Hey, you're missing the POINT douchebag!

Don't point out something so insignificant if his playing is so beautiful.

It makes you look incredibly short-sighted and stupid.

  • THANKS just by watching u l lurnt all of this lol :P

  • Hello Mr Heliolgnus!

you can answer a question to me?

    The Burke Whistles are tunable?

    Greetings

  • Hey how much should i spend for such a pennywhistle? I would really like to learn that :D But I am not sure how much I should spend....I want a nice tone with less money.....can you recommend me a special whistle??

  • @MrBenjo2000 I would recommend a waltons or a generation. Both produce very clear notes and are 8 bucks or less.

  • @HelioIgnus Hey thanks for the quick answer ^^ will look after them :D

  • this may sound stupid but can u play the same fingerings on a fife and get the same tune?

  • @PeachTomoyo12 I believe so, yes. I have a fife but I don't know if they are all alike.

  • Very Nice, I like it! Post more

    thanks for the tabs.

do you have the notes for people who read music?

  • @barefootherapist sorry, no, since you can play it in any key you want using the tabs. It depends on the key of the whistle, I mean.

  • Nice, I play this on my recorder as well... Though, I'm not sure why YouTube recommended this video to me... Does this mean I am being spied on through my mic?!

  • Is this Burke a session, or a narrow bore???

  • @daynamite209 session? not familiar with that. It's a standard bore, I think.

  • sounds lovely! so more than a penny...hahah how much did yours cost?

  • @capriccioso35 Last time I answered that, a hater was harrassing me for a while. Better just check the other comments for your answer ;D

  • hey whats the diffrence between penny whistle and tin whistle? good playing by the way

  • @Uuuurk no difference. You just have to weigh which kinds of jokes you want heard: people making fun of it because it's not tin, or people making fun of it because it didn't cost a penny.

  • @HelioIgnus I should say "cost more than a penny" just to reduce confusion :D

  • that was quiet dirty but still beautiful

  • @6vasili6 haha I'm not sure I completely catch your meaning but I can play it a lot better off-camera.

  • @6vasili6 your a prick, and you probably didnt listen to the original song :) go get a life and stop commenting about people, he is amazing!

  • Thanks for the link dude, My niece at 7 years old just figured out how to play this on piano and I want to be able to duet with her...I havent played whistle in a while and I'm so glad to see you linked a tab here! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

  • @fuzzpawz86 I'm so glad to hear it! Nice to know i've made someone happy :D

  • @HelioIgnus That you have

  • I've bought a Tin whistle D 5 min ago. Now wait till I get hm!

  • NICE MAN!!

  • Beautiful ♥

  • Nice!

What key is your pennywhistle in?

    C or D?

  • beautiful

  • u Play the bagpipes dont you?

  • Well done, lad!!!

  • Wow, a Burke? How much did you have to shell out for that one?

  • @psychgoth hehe 150 bucks...as a christmas present.

  • @HelioIgnus lol 150bucks for a piece of wood? you got raped

  • @NevermindTheGame Nope I didn't, and it's not wood. You probably don't know anything about it, so I won't try to explain how cool it is.

  • @HelioIgnus Student flutes are usually made of Copper or something to that extent. Professional flutes, such as open hole flutes, are usually made of sterling silver or gold. It is also quite common for flutes to be silver plated and not throughly sterling silver. It is also common to have just the mouth pieces made of gold while the body and foot joint are silver. However, yours doesn't look like any of the aforementioned flutes and not only sounds like a wooden flute, but also looks like one.

  • @NevermindTheGame no problem, it's not a flute. lol.

  • @NevermindTheGame I found your answer copied from answers.com. Nice, trying to look smart. You can't tell what a wooden pennywhistle sounds like, and you can't tell what a brass pennywhistle looks like. You didn't know the difference between an irish whistle and a flute. You also didn't seem to know that some of the most expensive pennywhistles are made of wood. You demean its value based on what it's made of, even though rare wood is expensive. Better go do some research on wiki or something.

  • @HelioIgnus Are that Nevermindblahblahn stupid or something? :o I'm starting tinwhistle playing now, but I'm first gonna buy Clarke Original C and Victorian D. Do you know are these good choises for beginner? After them I'll buy Susato's C low whistle. Then, when I got enough money, maybe I'll buy a Burke.

  • is harry potter!!!!!!!

  • @Reyludd no no, it's lord of the rings. read the video title.

  • @HelioIgnus i now, but it looks like harry potter!!!!

    :P

  • @Reyludd lol u say that to all the guys with glasses <3

  • @HelioIgnus I think he was talking about you

  • @SaileAway I know, but I thought it was kinda dumb so I wanted to respond in kind.

  • Where can i find more tabs like yours on the internet? All i can find is notes or ABC :(

  • nice

  • where can you get one of these in Australia?

  • Your technique is so amazing! Our marching band's show this year is based off of the music for Lord of the Rings, but our penny whistle soloist isn't as good as you by a longshot. :)

  • @KaptainObviouz I wish I were in a marching band that had a penny whistle part! I know ours never did. Thanks much, i'm flattered *^^*

  • Nice job. The bending is nice, but I think you might bend the notes too often, it gets a little nauseating.

  • lol you look like harry potter

  • @TheFlutification but with the sprinkling of awesome that harry lacks.....and a beard.

  • @HelioIgnus XD

  • UR MY HERO!!!

  • So lovely. <3 Excellent playing!

  • does anyone know the name of the song

  • @OTmvp its called Concerning Hobbits :)

  • I got a penny whistle about 3 days ago and I can play that.

  • Great playing! I too have worked on this song.

  • Cool!

  • it is so good looks like you put the original audio in i subbed

  • is that a D whistle its got a good sound to it

  • nicely done

  • WOW that was amazing. 10/10 i would watch this again. amazing.

  • very sweet playing. You have the slurring of the notes down just right. would love to hear this on a delay affect maybe with some echoing. Do you have a sound board or delay petal you could play through? Very awesome..

  • @tscotty32 hey thanks! No i don't have any of that stuff (I guess?), I usually just edit the audio track afterwards in Goldwave to remove noise or whatever else I need.

  • @HelioIgnus Well it sounds great! very pure and very strong notes. I love flutes of all types including the penny whistle though I am not as good at playing it as I am my Native American flutes. I bought a mic , amp, and a delay affect to give me that deep canyon sound. Its really amazing to play through and the cost for the set up was less then 150 dollars. I think you'd enjoy playing through one. Gives a whole different feel to the music. Peace my Fluting friend

  • lol oops. I got an f :S Should have gotten a d flat, that's what it's in >.< Very beautiful btw XD

  • @TransientSong It's actually just plain old D, according to the inscription and my piano.

  • i can play this on my clarinet but i want that kind of sound bravo good work

  • You look like hobbit boy!

  • @beervark You can tell without seeing my feet?

  • @HelioIgnus I'm hobbit too! High five!

  • I wish I could find a pennywhistle. They sound so neat.

  • O okay thanks where did u find the notes to the lord of the rings music?

  • Dude wat kinda flute is this? i wanna b able to play lord of the rings music like that, is it a C er d?

  • That was amazing! That is an awesome talent. That bend or w/e at :10 gave me goosebumps it was so perfect.

  • mmmm before even reading the description I recognized your Burke whistle because I have the same one... lovely sound no?

  • He even kinda looks like frodo :D

  • awesome! i didnt even know you could bend notes on a whistle!! it completes it! :'D

  • Where can i pick up a cheap whistle, or something of that variety?

  • @00invert00tapper FEAR NOT! The Pennywhistles isn't called a PENNYwhistle for no reason. You can order one on Amazon for ten buckaroos ;).

  • good idea the harmonic on whistle

  • what type is this whistle???

mines a mellow d, is that okay???

  • @DiggrBoi Yeah it should be no problem. Mine isn't the "mellow" variety, but i'm sure it's ok. By the inscription, it is the "DBSBT" model.

  • @HelioIgnus okays.

    awesome sauce!

    thank you!

  • amazing

  • where did ye buy the tin whistle?

  • ebay

  • cant wait for my whistle to come by mail

  • thank you man! great job!

  • isnt that the shire theme?

  • This sounds awesome! Did you have the sheet music, or did you just figure it out by listening?

I just bought a tin whistle today & have no clue how to play it yet, so I'm here on Youtube looking for help

  • where do you get these whistles at? if alto sax doesnt work for me (which i will still keep on trying money grows on ttress and i dont want to waste them plus i love ALTO SAX!) i would love to play one of these sounds fantastic spectacular

  • Hey! You bend your top pinky too! I tried not to bend it but I kept messing up so, even though it cramps up, I just let it go haha. I think I would do better if I switched my right hand back to the top, everyone told me to keep left at top but it is too difficult for me.

  • @backpacc as far as I'm concerned, there's no right way as long as it makes a great sound!

  • Very true! :)

  • great :D

  • Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. May you be filled with the love and the light of the one infinite creator. Go forth rejoicing in the power and the peace of the one creator.

  • You sound so much prettier than I do when you play this! Oh well, I'm still learning. :p

  • 0.o 5 *

  • I love it! Good job!

  • dude, what kind of penny whistle is this? and where can i get one?

  • tht was very good, are you still practising ?

  • it was good but had some un-needed notes in there and was very fast.

  • The "un-needed notes" were just his interpretation of the tune, if you listen to a lot of penny whistle music you'll find many of them do this. Hope this helped. =]

  • beautiful!

  • dude that was awsome l love that sound

  • I used this as a tutorial. Thank you so much. You're godly.

  • Sounds like Titanic, too. Nice job.

  • sounds more like avatar now

  • very nice, pretty smooth.

  • really nice

  • If (or) you could serve notes can throw on music record me internet strone and I will serve thankful depend very link me

  • I envy your cuts, very subtle!

  • awesome

  • So pretty!

  • nice try mate, ya let a few note run short but 10/10 for trying

  • i love playing my penny whistle. even this song is fun :)

  • whats the cheapest i could get the burke or just a good penny whistle?

  • 10 - 15 bucks. Got mine off ebay.
