  • @Motorsports45 Thank you for including some of his broadcasting skills. I think they were extremly underratted and that he too (Just like fmr. NASCAR drivers) would have had a great career as a broadcaster after his racing days

  • Think about this: Dan was testing the 2012 car and died, and Sarah Burke was ushering Women's Skiing Superpipe in the 2014 Olimpics and she died..... Hm....

  • This guy will be missed for ever. R.I.P. Dan.

  • Mister Wheldon. Welcome to Immortality

  • This is SIN! REPENT!

  • I fitting tribute video I would say. LIONHEART

  • I watched BOTH of him 500 wins IN PERSON! I can't believe how his year went from the HIGEST of the higs to the LOWEST of the LOWS! RIP DAN!!!! FOREVER MISSED!!!

  • what kind of person would dislike this

  • I hope they leave this video up for a LONG time. It's so sad, I wish he never accepted that challenge. It's not fair when there are so many evil people left in the world and the good ones leave us. You will always be remembered Dan.

    "LIONHEART FOREVER !!

  • @1960twilight Even if the challenge was dropped, he was already in talks with multiple teams to run the Las Vegas race. Rumored that Sam Schmidt was going to put him in Tagliani's car regardless.

  • @CookieDude1178999 Thats the first I heard about that..but maybe even if he did race in Tag's car, circumstances may have been different. I don't know..still so sad.

  • @1960twilight Even without the GoDaddy promotion, or the attempt to get other drivers of other disciplines to come out, the Las Vegas event was going to be huge. It wasn't going to be just another race, and Dan would have given thousands of dollars just to run it. Either way he was going to be there.

  • @CookieDude1178999 I'm sure you are right, but you know when we lose someone we respect we always try to think about the "what if's" We all know he loved to race, so I'm sure he would have found a way. It's just a terrible terrible loss, and in my opinion, Indy Car will never be the same. He was just such a true ambassador for the sport and for life. He did so much to make people feel special and he never forgot where he came from. I will truly miss him.

  • he may not have had the recognition he deserverved over here but those who know of him loved him and will never forget him RIP Dan

  • shit happens !

  • God sent the first angels out into the universe to experience, with many powers to protect them, and to return with those experiences. Then God sent Humans, who hold a special place in God's heart regardless. Who always push to the edge of experience with nothing but flesh, spirit and creation, knowing the end could come at any moment. Laying it all on the line. Bringing experience back to God in a way that would of never been known otherwise without us. R.I.P Dan Wheldon.

  • Still cannot believe hd is gone....RIP Dan

  • A True Legend R.I.P

  • 4:15 to about 5:30 is the best part. Those are just glimpses into his amazing personality. Miss you Dan. You were/always will be the best.

  • R.I.P. Dan, the motorsports gods have been cruel to us as of late.

  • R.I.P Dan you will be missed by all of us.

  • @ 1:27. Breaks my heart. Too young to remember but his kids will have this to reflect on their dad. Thanks Dan for thrilling us race fans with your incredible driving talent. You are now with God and those who have passed before you.

    RIP.

  • 1 second your here. The next your gone. Live life to the fullest everyday.

  • R.I.P :´(

  • Not since the colorful race commentary of legend racer Jackie Stewart had a person like Dan come into the race booth. Dan added real experience and insight as a race commentator. Dan was a true treasure. A rare breed indeed, kind, thoughtful and always upbeat. I will miss his enthusiasm and infectious smile

  • It's ironic to hear Dan comment on concentration, endurance and element of controlling one's fear ("Loose the fear win the race."...Dan Wheldon.

and always being on top of your driving skill. It's been a sad time for all. I will miss him.

  • 98 or 77??? even 26, don't matter. still the champ! love ya bud...

  • @MaverickXSE Don't forget the 4 he drove for two Indy 500s

  • Thanks for posting this video...Daniel was such a great person. On and off the track. He will be missed.

  • One of the good ones taken so early. He's now racing in heaven. RIP Mr. Wheldon...

  • @rst1121 My neighbor died. At the funeral, his friend said he is in heaven with a leaf blower cleaning up the place. Everyone laughed.

  • This makes me so sad :( Life is not fair... my respect to Dan and his family...

  • Beautiful tribute. :')

  • Also, I hope Sebastien does become a future Indy 500 champion. Do it for your dad, son.

  • RIP Dan, one of the many great talents gone before their time. Glad to see that the news coverage in the UK actually features more than just 'Dan Wheldon has died. He was 33. He had won some races.', because he deserves more than just that. He deserves to be cremated 17 times and Britain should go into 2 days of national mourning, 1 day less than Senna. Only 3 of my friends are actually really depressed by this news. It should be everybody. Sad to see that some talents go unnoticed at home...

  • ovals will keep killing drivers...

  • @OuvinteAmigao Yes, well said. Its sad, because America has lost many great talents, Dan Wheldon and Greg Moore being the biggest, but they never learn to improve safety unless a death happens.

  • R.I.P Wheldon, gone but never forgotten

  • R.I.P Dan you will be truly missed by everyone involved in indycar.
