The whole point of THAT stand is the fact that it carries an improved GPS chip (Improved over that of the iPhone's anyway) and the fact that this also doubles as an in-car charger.

Plus I know someone that uses a Mac at the moment. She paid something ridiculous for an Apple compatible webcam from the Apple shop and yet it has compatibility issues with certain Operating softwares. They still sell it today for £90! That's a rip off.

They dont make 'external' webcams (as what he was implying), they do however include 'isight cameras' internally. They dont sell any external cameras, the apple stores stock third party brands such as logitech etc. I've never seen an apple branded external webcam.

1) you showed a round sticky pad with this vid but didn't show on any of the vids what it was used for. What is its purpose?

2) you showed that audio could be played with the kit, but you didn't show weather music could be played or a call be answered while app was in use; using the kit. Be it TT or any other app. Will it work that way?

No, the app alone is £60 then you are actually expected to pay £99.95 for the holder. I wish I was joking. Incidentally you can get a refund for the app under section 6.3 of the developer agreement which gives you 90 days to get a refund. Also UK Sale of Goods Act covers goods unfit for the purpose for which they were sold, which applies to the standalone app which is, unfortunately, shit.

Can you use the TomTom kit with other GPS software? Do you need to have TomTom software do be able to use the cradle for just powering, hands free calling and audio jack usage to play ipod audio through your stereo? It seems like it may be a good deal just for those features so long as you don't have to have the TomTom software installed.

Apparently, rumours are that Navigo are making their own device as well - if so, I hope they are priced reasonably. I'll try CoPilot with this car kit and let you know in the review which I plan to post in the next 24 hours.

Thanks. I have also heard that the GPS inside the kit requires drivers that may have not been released by TomTom (however the car kit is "smart" and may be updated via usb). So if other software works it may work with or without the internal GPS of the car kit (which apparently is used for better accuracy). I think the key feature here is that you can "POP" the device in an out without having to constantly plug in any other cables to perform the powering, hands free and iPod music features.
