Watch my group with4 sax / drums / guit / bass & keyboard, it's call "band'n firm" we are french and with a bad english accent it means "band of handicaped"
Fantastic. The improvement between this and your original improv of the same song is phenomenal, its even difficult to link the two sax players as the same person (by sound obviously) Congrats!
Holy mother of crap this so freaken awesome!!!! I play trumpet and i only wish that sometime or another we can group up and do somethin like this together cuz i can play the song itself while u could jazz it up
This is my favourite song ever, And everytime i here it i expect the saxophone to burst in (: Honest to god one of the best videos on youtube, in my opinion ofc :P
You've got an awesome tone. I'm grade 7 sax myself. As someone below said, try to keep your fingers closer to the keys and you'll be able to go faster. But to be honest, you're doing great.
Try to keep your fingers closer to the keys, you'll play faster and more in the pocket. And I'd say LESS IS MORE for all your improvs, you're trying to turn them into sax solos, but if you truly want to "fuse" these two genres on songs like the ones you picked, be a lot more conservative about what you play, when you play it, and how often you play it. My lecture is over, overall good job.
I love that sax/rock fusion stuff! Very interesting and pleasing to the ears! I need to try something like this, although I'm more of a classical saxist, with the occasional jazz going on. And you're pretty good!
you should do a cover/improv to the song take warning by operation ivy, or the song wailing paddle by the rudiments. those bands already play ska but they dont got the horns im looking for. seriously do it.
really good man i enjoyed it but it got kind of boring. you used a lot of the same couple notes. Should have used a broader range or hopped from high notes to low suddenly not crawled there (just on occasion) but overall good.
once again you've rocked the world of rock! crazy awesome. i've been checkin the vids since you started n im inspired, really! on a side note, what do you to do to new reeds for prep? i think i love you...
Hi, thanks for the kind words...I don't really prep my new reeds, I just play them for a few days until they soften. I keep three or four "broken in" reeds handy and just rotate them.
wow...samson the saxman cant tell you. you prep a new box of reeds by soaking each reed for about 5 minuts each. Then you play each on for about 30 minuts but dont play anything above forte' or else the reed will get to soft to fast and ull have to throw it away too soon. and rotate your reeds. keep them in either a bag or a charcoal container meant for reeds. If you file your own reeds then seek help elswhere because im not gonna go through that whole thing for someone who thinkds samson is
you don't need notes when you improv. let the music flow. number 1 rule of soloing. no one knows you're making mistakes. that's because you don't make mistakes. you just let the music flow.
