Today Mike Voltzs has most certainly done just that and more. Most Epiphone Sg's and Lp's and many more EPI guitars are today top professional quality and are every bit Gibson equal and better. And it's because of Michael Voltzs so again Mike Voltzs thanks for making Epiphone once again a great guitar company!

@PapaLesPaul its just the brand name. Its like PC VS MAC. You could buy a high end pc with nearly the same hardware as a mac e.g. intel processors, amd graphics for half the price you could a MAC computer. The only difference is one has an Apple on it. Like gibson guitars have "Gibson written on them" Doesn't necessarily mean they're better. Epiphone les pauls aren't exactly cheap themselves.

Slash and Zakk Wylde have played there Epiphone Models Live on stage. Todays Epiphones are the very best in top professional quality. today I would not spend a dime on a Gibson. Epiphones only down fall there way under priced. EPI MAN 4 LIFE!

I think since Slash is promoting his epiphone model, then he should use epiphone guitars in his live performances and on his albums. That way I would know for sure that he believes in that make of guitars. He is not going to convince people that epiphone are great if he is just going to talk about epiphone in his interviews and then play gibsons on his albums and at his gigs. I feel the same way about Zakk Wylde as well.

We are very lucky that there are a lot of high quality inexpensive guitars out there. I suggest checking out the Yamaha Pacifica. A ~$200 guitar I bought as a living room knockaround that the dog could bite. It does not have the ergonomics of a strat...but it feels good enuff and sounds great and plays great. I have some EJ strats and PRS ME-1 and other high end stuff and this Yamaha Pacifica can hold its own sound wise....at a fraction of the price of mine or this Slash guitar.

you guys epiphone is a decent guitar for starters epiphone is made by gibson but the wood isnt that good hardware is cheap and it doesnt hold a key nothing i heard the tuners fall off later down the road. the paint job is really crapy on epiphones. but overall epiphone is good for a person just starting on playing.
