  • M1 GARAND....THE BEST...

  • youtube.com/watch?v=x9AwgIkSReI

Listen to how audible the ping sound is in REAL life

    youtube.com/watch?v=vHXGAXqFkz4&feature=related

or this video, its virtually impossible to hear, even at close range, where the mic is.

  • I really doubt that ping is all that loud...

  • @MrBigBearBrown Its not loud at all outdoors (battlefield), just ask any WWII vet, or WWII re-enactor, or hell, anyone who knows Garands well. You just dont hear it, just see it pop out, with no sound.

Ping: Extremely destinctive? yes. Extremely audible? no

Dont believe everything you hear and see on TV kids ;)

  • I have fired many rounds with the M1 in matches, and cannot recall ever hearing the "ping" as the clip was ejected from the M1's firing not more then 3 feet on either side of me. I think this is sheer nonsense, put forward by guys who eject clips in their living rooms, and listen to it bang off the coffee table.

  • @2020skip Exactly and they go and have all the inexperienced people out there believe it ws a flaw in combat, which it wasnt. Even IF the enemy heard it, they'd more than likely use that as a reason to run away and bridge more distance between you and them, since bolt actions are horrible at close range compared to semi automatic rifles. The ping being a flaw of the design in battle is not true, the M-1 has no flaws for its era.

  • @1ohtaf1 Just give up man. LoneWolf051 has more logic on the situation than you do, just watch the videos. Stubborn bastard.

  • 6 dead germans, one wound, one missed shot,

    PING!

one happy Joe Leibgot (from BOB)

  • PING!

  • hes totaly an egg

  • "the guy at '':' looks like an egg."

    I laughed so hard!

  • Boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom ping! lol

  • should the m1 be the national symbol of freedom?

  • @BEARARMZ Oh, it already is my friend...and always will be.

  • the M1 garand and M14 have got to be the greatest looking weapons ever

  • 1:06 HOLY SHIT! DR. EGGMAN!

  • Atwater's head looks like a bullet.

  • @scassidy0526 Too bad the STG was never mass produced, and was rather uncommon in combat. Plus the Americans had the M1 Carbine for medium/close range urban combat, and those were far more common than the STG was in the German arsenal.

  • i would love to oawn one of these!

  • @scassidy0526 stg 44 cartridge - 125 gr Ball -2,250 ft/s-1,408 ft·lb? did you not wacth the video?

  • @scassidy0526 look at Europe from satalite view, its mostly farmland, an small hamlet semi automatic is used 90% of the time, even in urban combat.

  • @scassidy0526 Its only useful at close to medium range, Europe was 70% long range engagements.

  • 1:08

    Mr.Egg.....

  • 1:05 HAHAHAH

  • @MrFigglez He looks like some kind of mall cop lol.

  • what?! number 4? its the rifle that won ww2, i think it deserves number 1! or we wouldnt be here debating about it!

  • @SuperDwang If it was the rifle that won WWII, then it would have to have been used by all Allied nations as the standard Allied rifle.

God, could you imagine the M1 being the standard infantry rifle for ALL allied nation in WWII? the axis forces would've just been obliterated so much faster.

  • @LoneWolf051 It didnt have to be used by all allied nations, in fact I bet some forces of different allied nation and small pockets of resistance used them during the war we just dont know about. If every Allied nation at that time DID have the m1s, then yeah it would've finished up quicker cause of the speed compared to the bolt action type rifles. Is significantly quicker lol. and bigger round i believe.

  • @SuperDwang True, the 30-06 was equal to the German 7.62x57mm, a bit larger than the Japanese/Italian 6.5mm

  • @LoneWolf051 yep, so more stopping power means more deaths and quicker wins. AND its beautifully made :)

  • 0:59 that guy sure loved his job... jerking off the rifles reload stick. and that guy has an egg head like EWWWW! get him off this show NOW!!

  • I hate these political advertisements.

  • PING!!!

  • From 1936 to 1963 average services time your out of your minds

  • lol bill is an egg head

  • the cadillac of semi-automatic firearms? well we all know who buys Caddy's.. No offence

  • 1:02 - 1:04 masterbation.

  • @InformalCrayon Fag? Im just tryin to be funny, Crayola-guy

  • Great for hunting zombies.

  • the guy at 1:06 looks like an egg.

  • @maseAK47 LMFAO

  • @maseAK47 Yeah, and I laughed my head off when he said he was once a US Marine in the Top 10 Rifles M14 video.

  • Comment removed

  • @maseAK47 AHAHAHA I laughed so hard man. Most hilarous comment in 2011 so far.

  • So many weapon specialist in the comments, it's so amazing.

  • the guy who made it was from canada thats why it was so good

  • i hate commercials!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mhh...the germans had the sturmgewehr 44, which is just on par or even better than the AK-47, and that as soon as 1944.

they would have had it even earlier if hitler hadnt been such a dumb cunt who thought that it was soldiers who win battles, even if they have shit equipment.

  • @IIIRobIII Soldiers DO win battles there genius. It's not about who has the best weaponry. A good example of this is Afghanistan right now. The Taliban's weaponry is so outdated it isn't even funny, yet they are still competing against our troops who have far better weaponry. And the STG-44 is NOT better than the AK-47. The AK is way more rugged than the STG-44, and the STG-44 hardly ever had any service time because they were hardly ever available. How long has the AK been successful? LONG TIME

  • @IIIRobIII the ak 47 is based on the sturmgewehr 44, its pretty much an updated version.

  • @TheDeviantGamer Even though Kalashnikov himself denies it completely.

  • @LoneWolf051 Yep he does.

  • @IIIRobIII No, the StG's operation isnt nearly as reliable as the AK, its far more complicated and not as reliable. The StG's system is a great design, but comparing it to the AK, the StG falls far short.

  • @LoneWolf051 o rly

  • Since i finished WaW's campaign i know everything about guns, just ask me XD

  • @xHardcoreGuitarx LOL, Love the sarcasm!!! ;P

  • Every time I hear that "ping" I get a freaking boner!

  • Egg face at 1:07 NO OFFENCE

  • That Bill Atwater has a weird head....

  • Personally i dont like the m1 garand.. its bulky and slow to steady.

  • @lilskates3 Dude its a WW2 gun and its really accurate, really powerful and semi auto. The modern M14 is basically an updated version.

  • Comment removed

  • @xHardcoreGuitarx ur fucking retarded, the M14 was the replacement gun for the M1 garand, it was built based off of it. The M14 mod 0 enhanced is an updated even more compact version of the M14 without a wooden stock. Learn about the fucking weapons you own.

  • Thumbs up if you thing that the guy from 1:05 is patrick from spongebob

  • @ghostavenger1988 LMAO!!! I wonder what he looked like when he was in Vietnam? how did he fit his helmet on that head?!

  • sexiest rifle ever!!

  • and for that canada we salute you!

  • i love the ding

  • ;-)

  • For some reason it seems that 99.999% of the time, the sound of artillery/tank fire and the couple hundred other guys on either side also firing their various .30 cal weapons may drown out the ping made by the garands enbloc. Its only during the really close fighting you would have any reason to worry and that is when the buddy system a great thing.....preferably one of said buddies with a Thompson or BAR.

  • 1:07 is he an egg? or a bullet¿ i've never seen someone like him ajaja

  • @stillLovingGnr

    no, he's an american

haha, i can make jokes 'cause im american too

    ^^

  • @bretona ok! jaja an american with a head like an egg and :( why i can't make jokes?? yes i can!

  • Designed by : John Garand the Canadian

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks

who did everything in america because canada could only produce beaver meat and snowballs

  • @dem5889 Dont forget Maple Syrup

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks: Canadian By birth. Became an American citizen as a child. We should both be proud.

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks Who moved here when he was a kid. "Fellow American" in the eyes of many, seeing as all of the non-native people aren't actually from here but lived here and were called American.

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks PS, I don't care about being the best, I'm not biggoted or anti-canadian or super pro-america or anything like that. I'm just stating a fact.

  • @45calibermedic Yeah he was a Canadian, but only for a few years, everyone IN the U.S. has roots in other countries, but we, like Garand, are all Americans, no matter where we came from, or how long we've been here, whether it be just moving here, or been here for generations, what we do and invent here, is all American made, just like Garand's rifle.

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks when garand made it he waas an american citizen so it was an american that made it

  • @sethboy66 He was asked to pledge allegiance to the US that's why.

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks He pledged allegiance when he became a US citizen.

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks He migrated to the US when he was 9 and became an US Citizen. Canadian by Birth american by choice.

  • @1ohtaf1 Actually he was 7 when he moved here.

  • @LoneWolf051 No one cares.

  • @1ohtaf1 Just those who are curious about John Garand and his rifle. ie. everyone who watches this video

  • @LoneWolf051 yeah... im sure they would trust someone that claims a .45 has more energy than a .30-06 and it will kill you "instantly" when it hits you in the foot.

  • @1ohtaf1 I never said that it has more energy than a 30-06, the .45 ACP has 1/3 the energy of a 30-06, also I said a head, torso, or abdoman hit from a .45 will kill in 1 hit. You're the only one saying it will kill you if it hit you in the foot. I said the .45 at close range, created a wider wound cavity than a 30-06. Lower velocity (power) wide blunt bullet results in low penetration, but expends all its energy in the target becuase it flattens out. I gave you video proof, but you refuse it.

  • @LoneWolf051 Keep playing video games chump, you said the .45ACP has so much power it will kill anything it hits in 50 yards. At close range ie 6 inches away from flesh a ball .45acp will not expand as much as a ball .30-06, FACT. To prove that you know nothing, 3 times the power of the .45 is about the power of a .223 NOT a .30-06.

  • @1ohtaf1 At 6 inches a 30-06 would have so much power and velocity that'd it go straight through a person and out the other side, and still have enough energy to penetrate 2 phone books, I've done that test myself, with a pig carcas and 2 phone books, theres a reason pistol rounds are blunt, so they dont overpenetrate and so they can have a better chance of expanding. Again, the proof is right there in the video, yet you want to be ignorant. I've done these tests myself, you havent.

  • @LoneWolf051 That is nonsense, you seem to be under the impression that slower projectiles meet less resistance, this is incorrect a projectile like the .30-06 going so fast and rapidly transisting into a different medium will fragment and explode inside the target, There MIGHT be exit woulds, multiple ones, but those are created by the fragmented jacket and hot pieces of copper. Handgun rounds are blunt because they are slow and unlikely to expand, they need all the help they can get.

  • @1ohtaf1 And yes as amunition experts know, the .45 can kill a human sized target at 50 yards with a direct head, torso or abdomen hit with a single hit, thats why the US replaced the .38 with the .45, also why its nicknamed the " manstopper". What I said was that "the .45 can kill someone in a single hit at 50 yards" Now to the average person, with common sence, they know that "in a single hit" means a head, torso, or abdomen hit. I'll be more specific and obvious around you if it helps you.

  • @LoneWolf051 Please research on handgun cartridges, there is a reason they are not used as primary weapons. They are underpowered. There is no such thing as a one man stopper pistol round. There are accounts of cops and soildiers and civilians hitting their target in the torso at 3 meters with anything from .45 Auto to .357 Mag to .357 sig and even .45 Colt. and surviving. And there are also instants where a man was stopped by one shot from a .22LR rifle. You are an idiot

  • @1ohtaf1 They are not used as primary rounds because they dont have the range, or areodynamics of a rifle round, and have low penetration compared to rifle rounds. they are designed for close range kills.

And dont forget that Talliban and Al qaeda use large amount of methamphetamine, and have been known to require several shots, even from high power rifles, same goes for criminals. And of course a .22LR can kill in a single shot, just aim for the head, its a very lethal round if used right.

  • @LoneWolf051 No, for a .22 the best is the torso, on the head it has a tendancy of bouncing off. That statment of yours proves once again your limited knowledge. The reason pistol rounds are blunt is because since they are slow they need as much help to transfer that energy into the target. A rifle round is fast and once it hits a different medium it will fragment and explode.

  • @1ohtaf1 I've never had a 30-06 fragment is any animal i've hunted, the most it's done is tumble and come out sideways. Dont forget te amount of drag depends on the shape of the bullet, a pointed one will encounter very little drag, since its streamlined, and creates a neater channel than a .30Cabine, which moves slower and lodges itself inside the target expanding and exploding, while the 30-06 (while producing extreme hydrostatic shock) passes THROUGH the target, and still has alot of energy.

  • @LoneWolf051 Its streamlined and meets little resistance, but once it hits a different medium, it will fragment and explode. The reason why your .30-06 round never fragmented in the animal is because you hunt animals in video games and they do not have balistic caculations that equate to real life. In the game and according to your logic a .45 Auto will have more chance of taking down a charging elephant at close range than a .30-06.

  • @1ohtaf1 Where do you get "video games" from? I'm taking about my hunting trips in Northern Michigan every summer. You're going in circles and putting words in my mouth. And watch videos of 30-06 being shot into blocks of ballistics gel, they go in about 2 feet then stop, and remain in 1 piece (sometimes bent) but NEVER "explode"

And you proved my point, a Carbine round expends all its energy into a small area (6-8 inch penetration), while the 30-06 expends it gradually throughout the channel

  • @LoneWolf051 I have saw multiple shots of rifles and pistols in balistics gel, wax and even water. Rifles tend to explode less than a foot, 9mm and .45s tend to go 6- 12 times deeper before stopping.

  • @1ohtaf1 And the .30 Carbine stops in less than 8 inches in the block of clay, as demonstrated in the video......that you refused to watch.

  • @LoneWolf051 Humans are not made from clay.....

  • @1ohtaf1 Nope, not at all....BUT it does mimmick the density of flesh and its meant to show how big the wound cavity would be in a human, though a REAL human body being hit would open up as big as it does in the clay but since humans are 70% water, the wound cavity instantly closes back up, and all you'd see afterwards is just a small entry hole . The clay represents the damage and shock a human body would encnounter at the very instant of impact, and the clay holds that instant moment of impact

  • @LoneWolf051 If you slowly go into a swimming pool it does not hurt, if you jump of a bridge into the sea, you will die. Why? Because since you are faster, once you enter a different medium there will be alot higher stresses on your body, same as a bullet will enfure more stresses as it passes into another medium

  • @1ohtaf1 If you bellyflop off a diving board into a pool you wont go very deep, and create a violent, large splash. If you jumpe off a roof and streamline yourself headfirst, you'll go far deeper under, and create a smaller splash.

  • @LoneWolf051 On the contrary, if you jump into a pool bely flopping you will diffapate all your energy into a small area, but that is because you only have very little energy, if you jump off a bridge at 300meters and go head first, you will die and go much deeper, but the first 6 inches water has recieved more energy than the first 6 inches of water when you belly flopped.

  • @LoneWolf051 No, I dont think that, they meet MORE resistance because its slower, couple that slow-moving projectile with a fat, blunt tip, and it will hit all that resistance and flatten out inside the human, and expand. POINTED, HIGH POWER rounds are streamlined and are moving far faster, which is why they cut a neater wound channel than a slow blunt tip bullet, heavy, large rounds like the 30-06 have a tendency to overpenetrate, and go out the other side of the human (collateral damage)

  • @LoneWolf051 You clearly are dumb, faster objects meet more drag than slow ones. If you shoot a .45ACP from a long barreled revolver and give it more speed it will expand better. There is a reason why people prefer to use 124gr 9mm JHPs over 147gr 9mm JHPs, it is because the 147 gr is slower and less likely to expand. Hollow points and flat nose bullets will have a higher chance of fragmenting but the slower they are the worste they are. Either way a .30-06 will have more hydrostatic shock.

  • Carbine a Weapon good too kill with! Heres my stupid comment about you guy's, let's say like the stupid Americans says: IT'S A GUN o.o?

(by the way, It's a Rifle last time I cheeked It out)

  • @Grumberf I hate when people say "gun" to describe a smallarm.

And Carbines depend on what they fire, if they fire a rifle round, they are a "rifle/carbine" if they fire only a pistol round, its a pure "Carbine"

  • @LoneWolf051 nerd

  • @DodgeViperACRX

you call your DI that you'll have 3 weeks kp!

  • @gunny556fly huh?

  • @DodgeViperACRX

drill instructor twinkle toes the guy who teaches you how not to get your head blown off and fill the guy shooting at you full of hole's

  • Patton said it himself " best battle implement ever created" and true that for it's time we had the edge over the axis for much of the war until the German g43 and mp44/stg44 though not mass produced they still had a factor, and tojos arisaka is just pure shit!

  • deff one of the best rifles ever used in war but it could be better, imagine a rifle that has the accuracy and distance, but a little less kick and more rounds in the magazine, you get something like the M1 carbine, a gun that worked so well soldiers werent even using it to its full potential, it had more distance and accuracy than the average soldier could use that coupled with the high cost means it gets left out in the cold when talking about the best rifles but i have to say the m1 is better

  • @AEIOUandSometimesW The Carbine has a .30 round, it has 1/5 of the range than an actual rifle, it has far less penetration and range than a rifle round and is only accurate to only about 50-100 yards, whereas a rifle like the Garand can reach out with precise fire at over 500 yards. The Carbine was just an enlarged pistol with a larger magazine capacity and a bit more accuracy.

It gets left in the cold because the Carbine is a whole different concept and cannot compare to rifles.

  • @LoneWolf051 obviously your not sure what your talking about. . .a rifle is a shoulder fired weapon that has a rifled bore. a carbine is a RIFLE with a shorter barrel, the m1's effective range is 300 yards almost 50. . .and punch, if you get hit with something traveling at 1000+ FPS it doesnt matter how big it is

  • @AEIOUandSometimesW If I wasnt sure, I wouldnt be a licenced gunsmith, The M1 Carbine fires a pistol cartridge but has a rifled barrel and is shortened, If the M1 Carbine was a rifle, it would fire a rifle cartridge, and have a full length barrel. If it doesnt fire a RIFLE cartridge, its NOT a rifle...no matter how badly you want it to be.

And the Garand's maximum effective range (from my experience with them over the years) is about 500-600 yards, if the shooter is a good shot.

  • @LoneWolf051 your a gunsmith? and you dont know what a rifle is. . .you must be an idiot to say if it doesnt shot a rifle cartrige its not a rifle. . .what are black powder weapons that shoot miniballs. . .hmmm its a rifle, look up what a carbine is since you dont know, ill tell you again, its a RIFLE with a shorter barrer usually used for cavelry, and back to my first point i was actually thinking of the m14 not the carbine(which is a rifle BTW)

  • Comment removed

  • @AEIOUandSometimesW Typically Carbines (not just the M1) fires either pistol or rifle calibers, with shortened barrels, in the case of the M1 Carbine, it was a true Carbine, not a "Rifle/Carbine" like most others, since it fired the .30 Carbine, it can never be designated a "Rifle/Carbine" since it strictly fires a non-rifle cartridge, putting it out of the "Rifle/Carbine" class.

As before, the M4 is considered a Rifle/Carbine, due to its shortened barrel, but fires a rifle cartridge.

  • Comment removed

  • @GenieMB1 I've been to Camp Perry a few years back, they had some great M1 shooting, I want to go back some time if I get the chance.

As for the .30 Carbine, the Ruger BlackHawk revolver can be chambered for the cartridge, as well as the AMT Automag III semi-automatic handgun.

  • @LoneWolf051 Your statement was that the carbine fired a pistol round. If Im not mistaken that round was used in the carbine before pistols were chambered for it. Picky point but misleading for those looking for accurate info from an expert.

  • @AEIOUandSometimesW The Carbine on the other hand has a maximum effective range with its .30 pistol round is around 250-300 yards. That's why the Garand is a rifle and the Carbine is a Carbine, the rifle is for long ranges with its full size cartridge, and the Carbine is for short to medium range personal defense purposes.

  • Comment removed

  • @AEIOUandSometimesW You cant compare a Carbine to a rifle, because a rifle is in a whole nother catagory, a Carbine is for short to medium range light combat as a personal defense weapon with light to moderate stopping power, while a rifle is for extreme long range precise fire with great firepower.

  • Ive never, never in my life seen a greater rifle. Its fast, leathel and ultra sexy! I love the M1. If someone asked me whats my favorite weapon i would say M1 garand in the first 2 milliseconds.

  • 1:04

    lol

  • The fat guy's head is like a watermelon. I just want to shoot it with the M1

  • I love this rifle. That .30-'06 is a real man stopper. The Germans though were more scared of the .45 SCP round and they were terrified of the 12 gauge shotgun.

I always have thought that the .30-'06, the .45 ACP and the 12 gauge complimented eachother very well. All are powerful with great stopping ability.

  • Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom.

    Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. PING!

  • did work on those tojo fuckers

  • lols, it was made by canadian but its american! lols

  • @choileelee Thats the story of America for you, immigrants coming from all over and making this country a legend, like Dr. Garand. The rifle is All American, and John is Canadian American.

  • *PING!*

  • Even though I personally prefer the Lee Enfield I would have rated the Garand #2 (behind the AK). The Garand was really ahead of it's time and was certainly the best of all rifles fielded in WW2. It surprises me that the Germans with their V2 missiles and Jets and King Tiger tanks went to war with an old design, 5 shot capacity rifle.

  • That is a beast of a weapon fired it on a gun range in florida

  • 1:05

    is that dr.robotnik?

  • this won world war 2 ?

dont you mean when us became pussies and just drop the nuclear bomb

  • The Germans were about to use nukes too on the US

We used the Atom bomb to save American lives.

  • @LoneWolf051

rofl where did u get ur info?

    that's bs

  • Actually its all true, Heavy Water?, Rijukan Norway?, Atomic weapons?, Amerika Bomber?, ring any bells?

Thankfully they never got it active thanks to the Norwegian resistance's raid in 1941 on the Norsk Hydro plant and the destruction of the Heavy Water shipments to Germany...

If that shipment got to Germany, the Nazis would then have had all the compounds for an Atomc bomb

Its one of my favorite raids of WWII, I've studied it alot over the years.

  • @BlackShotJapan

German scientists were close to that technology but Einstein escaped Germany before the Nazis could get their hands on that bomb.

Many fleed German scientists and phyicists worked with the Americans to finish the bomb.

Their were also a lot of Germans involved in the American Space Program. Wernher von Braun developed the Saturn V for example...

  • @bfgguns and later von Braun used the v2 nazi rocket to build rockest missles

specialy the rockest to go to the moon

  • @bfgguns wow GeEk!!!!!

  • It wasnt pussy to bomb pearl harbor without any warning?

  • @MeTaLhEaD945

bombing of the pearl harbor's significant is little compared to the a bomb. It targeted the military, while the a bomb just wiped out like 300000 civilians

  • @BlackShotJapan Targeted the military is still targeting people, especially people who werent even involved in the war and werent prepared on a sunday while everyone was sleeping and had the day off. Might as well of targeted civillians, and the two cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were militaristic cities who manufactured many supplies for Japans military.

  • @MeTaLhEaD945 There was a warning, the incoming Japanese planes were picked up by radar an hour before they attacked, but they were dismissed as a flight of B-17s coming in from California.

  • @LoneWolf051 I know but there was no warning before the approach and for us to ignore that wave of planes was stupid on our part and by us doing show just proves how unexpected and without warning that attack was.

  • What are the perks with this gun?

  • Comment removed

  • Well, the perks for this over the competition were that its semi-automatic, it held 8 rounds instead of five, and was the standard infantry rifle of the US, while everyone elses were bolt-action rifles.

  • bloody yanks big headed we won the war lol.... royal enfields the bomb

  • 1:05 mr egg head

  • The wood is so beautiful

  • @meusicalentall27 That's black Walnut for you

  • i wish i hAD THE MILITARy channel =(

  • well . . . ok . . .

  • .30-06 Springfield (7,62 x 63 mm)

    308 Nato (7,62 x 51 mm)

  • yes canada gun wooooo

  • @hi98uin14 Yeah!

  • Nope, it was made in the US, by an American citizen, manufactured in American factories, and issued to American troops, Canada had nothing to do with it.
