'Hektor' trains at American Top Team, alongside a bunch of UFC fighters he can crush. He's a Tyson-like southpaw with really little gloves, scary! I don't think many fighters want their chins tested by this guy. He crushed Trevor Prangley who has a win over Chael Sonnen. Just saying...

Hector Lombard is certainly an interesting enigma of an MMA fighter. Cuban, brute strength, good ground game which we rarely get to see (black belt in both Judo and Jiu-Jitsu). the 2 things clearly lacking are his cardio or lack thereof, and his punching and stand up ability. Which is strange, because for a guy to be Cuban and not be able to do more than throw wild swings, it makes you wonder HOW did he not get some fundemental boxing training as a youngster in Cuba, given their history.

@MMArmaggedon I totally disagree with you, he is so confident and good exchanging punches that you rarely see him trying to take his opponent to the ground and the majority of his wins are by tko. In cuba they don't have MMA but every kid knows how to fight, his background was Judo not boxing so from an early age thats all he did, he was probably sent to EIDE at age 10 or 11 thats an all sports school, u train 4 hrs a day and you go home on weekends.

@nikittoo1 I'm not even sure if Lombard's exchanges with opponents punching can be considered "good". The majority of the punches he throws are absolutely just wild. He has power which allows him to KO people easily. Its like Mark Hominick, who has great power in his fist but also has precise, technical boxing. I don't know how the sporting structure works in Cuba, i know they have a great amateur boxing history though. Plus to have a black belt in one belt is impressive, much less 2.

@MMArmaggedon Maybe to you he looks wild cause of his style of fighting, he's a short guy with short extremeties. if he didn't have any boxing techniques i can assure you that his "wild punches" wouldn't have let him be where he's at now.To me he is a complete fighter he's got more experience then most MMA fighters, he's an Olympian medalist, he's got 10's of international fights as an amateur.
