  • i read when i was 8m

  • @Exone112 Reading can be interpreted differently. There's a difference between reading and speaking. Just because she didn't say the word doesn't mean she didn't necessarily read them. She just read them in her own way.

  • What a clever girl :)

Well done parents. You obviously have a lot of time to soend with her. SO good to see :)

  • kid is goung to find a lot of cure when he grows up

  • that kids gunna cure cancer

  • what a smart baby.

  • i want to teach my son that

  • She did just simple learn to recognize the "shapes" of the words. She doesn't read 'em you can tell from the video.

  • What are "shapes" of words apart from the words themselves? Abstract symbols that represent the thing itself, like "head". My kids could read as toddlers, too, now my five year old is tearing through all the Magic Treehouse books like they are candy. We should be introducing the "shape of words" much earlier in our kids' education, right when their brains are picking up spoken language. A recent book called Native Reading talks about this...

  • Exactly, when baby's are young they can take all that info in without any problems.

And it will improve the learning skills in general.

  • reading is recognizing every written sign (letter), not recognizing group of signs without being able to distinguish separate letters. So what you guys have been doing, is teaching these kids tricks, not teaching them to read.

  • you're right!!

they may try to put a new word in front of the kid...

a kid who knows to read, can read any word even if it is a completely new word

  • totally right

  • besides i think it's like dogs learning tricks...

ill teach my dog to do the same!!!

  • @Exone112 word recognition is a part of reading

  • @kimbercow Ofc, but I she can't read "for real"

    It's quite stunning thou.

  • @Exone112 its called recognition.

  • @edwinafranco Did I say something else?

  • @Exone112 your pointing out the obvious fool. The fact that she is able to recognize the words, and remember the action used for that word is incredible for that age. You probably couldn't even walk.

  • @spiazo Can't believe that a 2 year old comment still gets replies. Well, I define reading like this; being able to _understand_ a piece of text. The baby, 2 years ago, wouldn't be able to understand wtf a "Spork" was by seeing the word on a piece of paper. Sure, if someone held a spork in front of her, while showing the word-card to her, she would learn. But that's just association. She'd go and get the spork if one associated the wordcard "Knife" with it as well.

  • amazing!

  • very smart baby

  • almost as smart as einstein

  • that is increadible!!

  • GENIUS KIDDO!

  • Wow how did you teach her to do that?

  • I think that she can really read but she might be autistic... see the low eye contact she doesn't watch her dad while she's doing what she read. and she seems to be very intelligent!

  • Wow can she really read or do she touch what ever she can touch?

Because she is maybe a big genius

    ONLY 4M OLD!!

    thats good!!very good!
