  • Very very informative video. Teacher should not the primary sources rather should be a mentor. Student should lead the class but not teacher. I love those ideas of this video. That is how it should be to make more learning environment.

  • Since when was the Socratic method renamed the Moore method? I say it's blatant plagiarism at the highest levels of academia.

    @billrau57 "Socratic" is a broad idea in teaching. The Moore method is a specific way to teach calculus and post calculus math, in a modern setting, in a modern US college undergrad or grad classroom. It's not plagiarism, it's a subset.

  • moore method for the win.  I've taken calculus, discrete math and analysis using discovery based learning and it's AMAZING. this really does change the lives of students... I know firsthand.

  • i agree fully, I discovered a lot of maths for myself at a young age, although at a higher level, it becomes harder (or at least more time consuming).
