i play piano, and ya know... piano players have to play crappy music... so I had to play this song for the enjoyment for other people, and anyway, this isn't the whole song.
yea, good video. Car fires are like sex, they're fun while they last but once you blow you're load it's pretty much over with. haha. gotta love the 3 man engine crew though!
@USMC2010VMI Hahahaha so true. BTW, not to be a smartass or anything, but it's a 4 man engine crew. The driver wasn't shown in the shot. All engine companies in Surrey MUST have 4 ff's on board. :D
There are only two reasons that a car fire would be an emergency. #1. Someone trapped inside it, and still alive. #2. Car affecting some sort of exposure, i.e. a home, a parking garage, etc.
Thats why youre a rural EMT and not a firefighter obviously. How do the responding firefighters know how close the car is to the house? Is the car sitting next to an LP gas tank? Is there a resulting ground cover fire that is spreading? I have an idea....respond code 3 and find out!!
Pretty much everyone around here has various "Code" responses. Its a way to establish priority to an incident. But I hear in rural PA the horse and buggy only go so fast, so I guess its a slow response or no response!
how about if the fuel tank explodes. then the house will be exposed. take it from me. i have been a firefighter for almost 10 years. see it all the time.
if you dont think that car is close enough to radiate enough heat to eventually ignite the exterior of that house you have to be smoking some kinda dope
Ya, purple-k is still going strong here at least. The fast flow Amerex PKs that we use have a much longer range and incredible "knockdown" compared to the standard flow extinguishers, so we still train peole to use them on the burning vehicals unless there is Hazmat cargo or unmarked barrels or such, thats when the plant fire crew handles it. And we do not use Halon either, all of our units were switched out for the less effective Halotron.(dam EPA)
you might want to check out the fire out demo it is a it contains purplek + a re-igntion prohibitor. It would be ideal for a home kitchen and should cost under $30.00
I think not, you guys censor any comments about how your product is nothing impressive and how overpriced it is. Hell I can get a 20 lb'er refilled for 30 bucks!
I have never had ANY problems with putting out stiove fires with a 5lb co2 and I keep a 6 liter class K for the turkey fryer. I would rather have hazard specific then a squeeze bottle filled with what I already have buckets full of.
yes i did have a fire extinguisher but i could hear the sirens coming so no need to get in the way of the experts btw this video shows the outstanding work of the surrey fire dept. 3 cheers!!!!
Actually I have extinguished fully involved pick-ups(with spill) in our plant training with a 30lb. fast flow and a 2.5 gal. AFFF. Usually you only need the purple-k but we used the AFFF for mop up.
Well you can knock the main body of fire down with something like a 30 pounder, but even then I wouldn't recommend it. Also I was under the impression Purple-K was no longer used, it and Halon went out a few years ago now.
Can someone say Insurance job lol?

instead of stretchin 150', mpo could disconnect and hook up to another discharge. it works real well with small fires like this one.

Do you have a fire extinguisher in your car? Or only your camera? Just curious...

A fire extiguisher isn't gonna do shit to a fully involved car fire. Trying to will just endanger the individual.
