  • At 4:35, that man didn't shut down anyone. He made a play on words. He, as in legal verbiage, "led the witness." What he said was do you "believe" In your own statement?" What he implied, what he was really asking was "do you agree with your own statement?" And Deepak, or the bishop, I'm not sure who answered, answered "yes" because he didn't realize that the guy was using semantics against him. And the simple-minded crowd cheers as if the guy actually said something of value.

  • I said the same thing about what the New Age Indian guy said about "belief". He stuck his foot in his mouth. lol

  • The old guy in the red shirt is a douche-bag attention whore. His question has nothing to do with the bible. He's asking that question to basically feed his own ego. Jesus says we have to humble ourselves.

  • @RussX5Z ur just mad becasue it struck a chord and u know that he is right.

  • @TrollyMc No its not because he struck a chord, but because he says what any other douche-bag Christian says. He's a cocky cunt that uses the word of god to stroke his own ego that's all. Everybody has their own way of believing the word of god. As long as you follow the commandments in the bible and believe god is real and you don't sin (trying your very best) then you are fine. That guy in the red shirt is just another typical douche-bag American that brags about his religion that's all.

  • She doesn't get it @4:35

  • At 4:45 Deepak either didn't understand what the questioner was getting at, or he didn't want to.

I think what the questioner was actually getting at was the fact that "knowledge" itself is also a form of belief. When one says "i know this or that" they also mean "i believe in know this or that". We often forget how often we "believe we know" things that later turn out to be false.

So you can't say "belief is a coverup for insecurity" except only in a very stenuous definition of "belief".

  • @Wittgensteinism When we say "i know this or that" we also mean "I believe i* know this or that"

  • at 5:51 it's interesting when Diana questions Pastor Mark, and then he say's "You are judging me" and then he changes his tactics and say's "Jesus loves You" to get out of his judgement of her... she set a trap for him and he wriggled out of it.Mark would make a great politician...

  • The bible does not contradict itself if a person keeps an open mind and looks towards the truth. The bible is Not relative morally or in any other way. Please. Carlton Pearson unfortunately is deceived and its a terrible thing.

  • i semi-agree with the bishop guy. upon "believing " that satan can do things, in a way we unconsciously open ourselves to what he can do and therefore if we think he can.. he will.. however, it doesn't explain why non-believing people would have those same experiences. Interesting debate...

  • @lib77575 because of the choice of others and what they have been conditioned or have seen in their lives. for instance if someone sees a tv show where a serial killer chops up a person they have recorded that image in their mind thereby believing that its something that they can do.. what we have witnessed been exposed to we can actually do or have the power to do..

  • But truly any scholar would agree that Deepak's philosophies are extremely abstract and are repackaged Eastern Mysticism, and even those are terribly skewed as pointed out by Indian apologist Ravi Zacharias. Also there is not one can learn from a debate like this. All you can do is pick sides and no formidable information was given to make any kind of decision. You must admit that the Bishop is very confused about his identity lol.

  • the man with the trick question really felt smug about himself. I believe his question was inauthentic. it's full of rhetoric and is mirrored by the audience. Within one question he feels that he has exposed the right side of the panel. The man would fail in his research to try and best Depok in a intellectual debate. One question does not mean ho owned the panel. Let him sit on stage to see if he can take the weight.

  • @eyekeepmoving [[he man with the trick question really felt smug about himself]] Well he did expose the inconsistencies in Deepak's philosophies. And there a re many since there is no science and it is so abstract that it truly only exists in his mind. it's just repackaged new age beliefs.

  • @MayonR The virgin birth and the resurrection are prime examples of repackaging. I find it very interesting that Chopra's comment on christians supporting any war was not given a response. Don't you agree?

  • @eyekeepmoving [[The virgin birth and the resurrection are prime examples of repackaging]] Actually if you look into Egyptian studies, the claims of anything close to virgin birth was never part of it. And the parallels drawn by S.Acharya are extremely spurious. No 3 wise men in Bible, No mention of Dec 25 etc. It's all been debunked over 100 years ago by comparative religion scholars. political beliefs are much different than moral and may or may not have a bearing on each other.

  • @MayonR i wish you the best in your search for truth.

  • @eyekeepmoving Oh much beyond searching. Now I like to share that truth is available to investigate. It's verifiable through multiple methods (unlike Deepaks air guitar methods of spirituality). And now love to share how the Bible is provable much more than people think, and how most the claims presented by this You Tube and this Bishop doesn't even have any grounding or are outright lies.

  • @MayonR if you found truth, then by all means, I prefer not discuss this with you any further. good afternoon

  • @eyekeepmoving No problem, just wanted to point out that new news is just old news to new people.

  • 2:49 "i thought he said he didn't believe," says Annie, the ex-prostitute. why do you think she used "he" instead of "you," thereby avoiding addressing him directly? ... she would much rather prove herself to her colleagues (god, angels, fellow saved), and discreetly so, instead of openly confronting a flaw in his argument that may ultimately damn him to hell... this is our hell on earth, where the "inclusive" club of the saved on earth indulge in the eventual damnation of the excluded others.

  • @goddolove or she just didn't want to completely interrupt him mid-thought.

  • PWNAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DEPOK GOT SHUT DOWN AT 4:35. They should just escort him off the show.

  • @JAKEHARRIS281 lol i never saw someone getting owned so badly on youtube hahahaha

  • if you wanna know whats right or wrong, look at what hurts people and what dosent.thier is a universial morality that i think people should agree on.

  • 5:00 is hysterical. oh my gosh.

  • for being a Christian that Annie (i.e. ex hooker) gives a lot of stink eye. I've never seen such eyes that look so hateful whenever Deepak Chopra and Bishop Pearson defend and explain their views.

  • @amarilloxazulxyxojo wtf...you honestly just sound like you're pulling at straws

  • Comment removed

  • @aptharsia actually.... guy in red shirt. 1 : Deepak 0

  • Oh noooo, "when I say Devil something comes into your mind" Deepak came into mind!

  • the lady in the red jacket had a very eloquent question and just about stumped the guy.

  • this Bishop is not a christian.

  • I really like the question that guy asked about how you can entertain the idea of a good God but throw out the Devil. Its not possible, especially when you state that God is good but evil is within self. There is no "contrast" there..

  • You are all Simplitons

  • I like what Deepak says about sinner and saint.

It is like the coward and the hero. Men have BOTH in them. And to call one man a Hero and the other a coward, is ONLY understanding that BOTH have the ability to be both of those two Beings, ..........at different times!!

  • Evil is never tolerated and we have laws in society to make up for people who are unable to live reasonable lives. The religion guy and Annie are simply quoting back from a book that was written 2000 years ago. A book that was written 40 to 60 years after the actually people in it were alive. It was then rewritten, and reinterpreted through out the years and people see it as a legitimate proposal to live their lives by this book. There's no evidence to suggest the bible was inspired by God.

  • It's pretty simple. If you cause harm it's evil if you aleve suffering it is good. Why people can't grasp this is beyond me. Why do you need a divine being to create laws for you? Don't cause harm, help others. Pretty simple.

  • @kausidya I absolutely agree with you. I wish people would just throw out all these Gods, Satans, Demeans, religions, and new age barbarism. We have the ability to do good or evil and we need to hold ourselves accountable when we make mistakes. Really frustrates me that people can't just be good people and live a good life without these unsubstantiated and evidence lacking books.

  • It's amazing how the Christains say we need good and evil in order for us to judge whether something is right or wrong, yet they say that only God is to judge. They contradict themselves and they are stupid.

  • I was reminded about that point too. Sometimes it's so blatant they remind me thats how they think.

  • @brucinda01 you're right

  • @brucinda01 Well, i know it's not fair to say all Christians are stupid, as some of them are beautiful people, i'm just reffering to the Christians in this video. ***********

  • It bugs me that someone who is a Bishop (which would infer that they are christian) would say that God and the devil work together when Christians should know that God is love. It bugs me that he would talk about Jesus healing a demon possessed man and basically give off the impression that Jesus didn't heal him and that he was just bio-polar - he still wasn't crazy after that was he - healed!

  • @palacekid it bugs you that a bishop finally saw the light? (light meaning stop beeing retarded?) probably because you didn't see the light now lol

  • @palacekid ... the story of job clearly shows a devil and god working together :)

  • And it bugs me that he would (different video) that he can change the bible (which is meant to be the infallible word of God to Christians)... Yet he teaches people in churches! His doctrine is kinda screwed up.. And it's a real shame because he seems intelligent and a good communicator..

  • HAHAHA DEEPAK and Bishop nailed by an audience member. What a sham these guys are. Get off the stage.

  • I find it interesting that the Christians who swear by the words in the Bible are so quick to use the word 'judge" when the Bible tells them not to. However, if God is a judge, and we are created in his likeness, does that not *make* us judges? Personally, I'm more comfortable in the belief that the Creator (Force, Source, et al) who created us in his likeness, made us creators ourselves. As such, we choose/create our realities. One can have Christ-consciousness without following a dogma. Peace.

  • Red shirt = quality

  • Deepak and Carlton Pearson have my vote.

  • just be sure you understand their argument, cos a lot of what they are saying is incomprehensible.

  • The guy in the red shirt: epic win.

  • The Bible does NOT preach a triumphant devil.

  • I agree. Perhaps temporarily triumphant. But not ultimately.

  • @Jimbo3783

(I'm a Christian, I love me some Jesus, the Devil is real, God is triumphant) You're right, it doesn't. And that's not what he's proposing. Know what I'm sayin'?

  • 1st Tim4:1 in latter times some shall depart from the faith & give heed to seducing spirits & doctrines of devils.

  • I agree with Deepak and Pearson. I am a Christian. So Question: What should I thank God for?

  • To be great is to be misunderstood-emerson

  • YES!

  • If the murderer see's murdering another as giving them a smaller chance of passing their genes on then they too are (in theory) less likely to perform that act. Over time, and with us being intellegent humans, we vocalize an action such as murder as "evil" not because it's a mean thing to do but because it's disadvantageous to do. The fact that some people still do murder is because in some cases it's advantageous (self-defense.. murder of animals for food) or because prefrontal cortex issues.

  • Evil IS made up in the mind. It's a combination of Evolutionary Psychology & the development of Society.

Evil actions are seen as actions that make a person less likely to pass on the genetic traits.

If someone murdered someone then the victim has the impossible task of passing on their genes. Others in the society then have the choice of viewing the murderer as strong and passing on their genes or viewing the murderer as evil and not passing on their genes.

  • hey christian crowd, lets just clap randomly.

  • Deepak is simply on another level of awareness and understanding that none of the other panelist's get. Trying to intellectualize, or encapsulate god into a linear, small minded idea, which all religions do, simply limits the omniessence of what the idea of god is. People Please...science is proving that matter, is an illusion, and that it's the observer that creates the reality...including his or her beliefs and ideas about god or anything. It's one of the basic tenants in the Law of attraction

  • deepak is fake.

the blonde girl and the white guy know what they are talking about..

the black dude seems like he got demoralized at some point.... but he must be happy for all he has.

  • fuck well said :D

  • If you don't understand the contradiction you've just stated, I suppose there's just no getting it...

  • The comments were directed at the people who see things in such a small way that they can't open their minds to a higher sense of truth. People have simply been programmed through life to believe in ghosts, so they simply manifest them into their own reality. I'm simply saying science is proving all the time without question that we are personally responsible for this reality, I did not say that science has all the answers or that you have to believe anything at all, just be, ignorant or other.

  • its too bad deepak can't explain what he is trying to say in words that everyone can clearly understand

  • deepak is the sham.

  • Where do I get a pimp coat like Deepak?

  • hahahahha! i think its called a kurta shirt.

  • Hahaha, tupak, deepak, whatever his name is just got ruined. Then he confirms it! Ah, that was classic!

  • LOL!! 4:43

  • 9:23

    Deepak = total domination.

  • this audience seems staged. way too many christians. where was this filmed? colorado springs? dear dog.

  • dog lol!

  • Bishop is DUMB!

  • Well.. dumb? lol Let's just say VERY deceived.

  • if i tell you of things i have seen here on earth and you wont belive me how am i to tell you of heavenly things.

  • I tried responding to your comments, but youtube keeps removing them. I'll try again later.

  • 02:32 - Hahaha I love Deepak's "So what you talking about?"

  • yeah hah i just rewatched that and loled

  • haha worth watching again :)

  • Clearly an American religious superstitious crowd. What a bunch of scared sheep. Listen to the questions from the audience They tell you everything you need to know about their fearful, insecure minds.

  • LADY IN THE RED...GOOD POINT.

  • At 4:40 - just awesome....

  • Jesus knows there is a Satan and demons, the same demons that Jesus cast out of people are still around today.

  • I have an irresistible urge to dropkick Mark in the face...must be satan at work.

  • some people in the debate would say ur the devil because doing that is evil.

  • Mark Driscoll states "Aaa the teaching of Christianity is that there is life after death. That some go to be with god and some are separated from him forever," (00:22).

Wow, what a merciful and great Christian God. Some people can never reach this great Christian God. Isn't that just beautiful. I don't see how anyone with a loving heart can believe in such nonsense. This is a message of HATE.

  • no, the fact that people are separated from him forever is a testament of His love.

God doesn't send anyone to hell; he lets them go there. the Bible says that God is not willing that even one should persih; but he LOVES us enough to choose. he isn't going to force anyone to be with him; that is not love at all.

some people choose not to be with Him; and as much as it breaks His heart He has to respect that choice because He loves them enough to.

    know what i mean?

  • Actually it isn't a testament of the Christian God's love. Because love should be unconditional.

So no, I don't know what you mean.

  • Comment removed

  • mckillmt, save it... I used to be Christian. I heard the same junk many times. I don't believe in the Adam and Eve story or any of that BS. My view is, those stories were made up for people to gain power. Even the idea that I or others are paying for someone else's sin, i.e. Eve, is a joke. There is no justice in that.

  • you are not paying for eve's sin, you are paying for your own. eve just brought sin into the world.

the justice lies in the fact that christ died on the cross for you and you no longer have to pay for your own sins.

  • Christians have a million different verisons of the story. And you might think Jesus died for people's sins, but I don't. He was just a man that did great things.

It's funny how you are so convinced of this. I used to think like you. I wish one day you get out of this primitive attempt to grasp God. I hope you understand you follow someone's story to gain power. Besides, I don't believe in idol worship. Have fun praying to Jesus the idol. That is your choice, but I don't agree with it.

  • first of all there is no way the creation can grasp the creator, and second explain how the world was utterly and completly changed when jesus' ministry began.

  • The world changed with Jesus, Buddha, and millions of other characters of our history. Don't go around and act like Jesus was the only one. Plus, Jesus was just a man like anyone else. He just did amazing things. He wasnt a prophet, he wasnt god, he wasnt son of god, or the holy ghost. He is just a man that did great things.

  • yes but no one prophisied that buddah would come. and i dont see any cotroversial arguments about buddah or any of the millions of others that created a self-centered or prideful religion either.

  • notmyusername99999, you really don't know anything about Buddha. There are just as many claims about Buddha's coming as Jesus coming. And there are many debates about Buddhism and all the other religions as well. You are only sensitive to the Christian ones.

  • Besides, If I had to pick a religion, I would pick one of the Dharmic religions: Monotheistic Hinduism, Sikhism or Buddhism. I'm not any religion, but if I had to pick, it would be one of those three. Although I do respect the Gnosticism Christians. They believed in a similar concept of the divine to the Dharmic faiths of God.

  • The idea of sending someone to hell forever is not loving at all. It is total BS. A loving God would give people infinite chances. Not one and if they get it wrong, down to the fire they go. That is an attitude of a child. I can even understand sending someone to hell for a million years, ie hitler, but a truly loving God is only truly loving if he can provide his creation infinite chances.

  • God is love, but God is also Holy. So if something is considered Holy, then also He must hold justice.

It's like some guy murdering someone, and goes before the judge and the judge says, "you know what, im just gonna let you go because Im just a loving guy." The news casters would go crazy, calling for that judge to step down."

Basically you are calling God to be that kind of judge. God has to punish every evil deed we have ever done or else he isn't perfect, Holy, or justice.

  • relientklay I don't disagree with you. The part I have a problem with is sending someone to hell because they don't believe Jesus is their lord and savior.

I also believe people should be given more chances. If it means to reincarnate and come back and try again, so be it. That sounds more just to me.

  • Satan is the most lucrative invention of religion.

  • haha oh Deepok. "You can't have one without the other."

Exactly there is a good and there is an evil, hes contradicting again.

  • @ 7:15 - Does she think Christianity was Mark's idea?

  • Chopra got owned @4:50! (facepalm)

  • and driscol gets defensive

  • Deepak Chopra & Bishop Carlton Pearson are both confused.

  • Are you serious? Not only is chopra the only one making sense on that stage, he demolished every argument presented by driscoll and the hooker. You must've been intoxicated while viewing this.

  • chopra contradicted himself so much. he's making some sense at random times, but really his logic of evil is inconsistent.

i wouldn't say they're both confused, though. all four of them got mixed up or responded slightly off topic of what some questions were really asking. rightly so; wouldn't you (a general "you")?

  • I don't believe he contradicted himself (of course I could be wrong). Which comments are you referring to? I believe he's stating that everyone is capable of good or evil and it depends on your choices and life experiences.

  • everyone is capable of good and evil and it does depend on your choices and life experiences. the Bible says that.

what it boils down to is that there is a basic form of moral standard for everyone, and everyone that makes choices breaks or adheres to that moral standard.

how can everyone have RELATIVELY the same moral standard (i.e. murder is wrong) without ever meeting each other?

  • It's such a simple concept even the bible could get it right. It's gotten enough wrong for any free-minded person to dismiss it though. The bible is not a moral standard or else there would still be slavery, which jesus never spoke of. We need to be better than the bible. Is everyone who does not subscribe to the bible immoral? Morals are when you ignore your primitive urges.

  • well john wayne gacy followed his primitive urges completely and he murdered and raped 33 men.

and according to you thats a prime example of good morals?

i would consider myself to be a free-thinking person. for example i freely thought that the book of Isaiah, which was dated 700 years before the coming of Christ by secular archeologists, described the death of Christ so vividly its passages get mistaken for eye witness accounts in the New Testament was too weird to be a concidence.

  • I'm very familiar with John Wayne Gacy. I used to live in Des Plaines. Who said that murder and rape was good morals? You're sick. And I'm sure the two books sharing the same story wasn't a coincidence, it sounds like plagiarism.

  • Throw both concepts out the door!

  • the woman from the audience is apparently one of those people who cannot think of perceptions of "right" and "wrong" without someone giving her advice. Would she just start murdering people without God telling her to stop?

I'm an atheist, and I don't drink, do drugs, murder, cheat, steal, or commit any of the "sins" that you so fear. Because I don't WANT IT, that is morality

There was morality long before Christianity, it is a cultural construction in ALL human populations.

  • The Bible does not say that those who have never read the Bible cannot be moral! It says that even those who never heard the ten commandments, by nature, seek to do what the law requires because God has written His law in their hearts. So that on judgment day they will be without excuse when they are condemned for their sins.

The point that Christians make is that apart from God and an universal absolute moral law, there is no basis for morality. Morality becomes subjective and preference.

  • sorry, i just side linked to part 6 somehow and i'm only a couple of minutes into this part as we speak.

should the girl on the left really be sitting there right now for her own sake? maybe i missed something from the 80 percent of what i haven't watched, but this doesn't seem good for her. religious or not. she seems on edge and she seems to be trying to find any way to be good, she's being told that her medication/belief is wrong for the sake of arguing religious views.

  • Deluded people are uneducated and have failed to do the reading and thinking required for maturity. Such people do not deserve respect. Others, such as certain politicians and of course the clergy, use religious fantasy to enhance their standing among and so control that deluded human mass of ignorance. They deserve still less respect.

  • Bill maher would slam the whore and the fat guy.

  • One day Deepak will fall off that crazy cloud of "HEY MAN" and get real.

He comes across as as idiot.

If someone harmed his wife he would define good and evil.

  • if someone harmed his wife he would call that a destructive force in nature

  • The guy who asked the question at 7:40 is an idiot.

  • lol yeah

  • hey guys guess what...all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god whether you choose to believe it or not. You have two options, one believe in jesus and live with him forever in heaven when you die, or don't believe and bank on the chance that god doesn't exist. good luck and make the right choice your eternity depends on it

  • our eternity DOES NOT depend on anything if we don't see things as being a zero sum game between salvation and punishment

  • Richard Carrier would decimate these clowns in a few nanoseconds. It would be like eating a casual lunch at home to him.

  • Great quote from Deepak at 9:25

  • Praise God for speaking through Pastor Driscoll! Lord I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord... in wrath remember mercy. Habakuk 3:1

  • "god is real because we can experience god", no he isn't and no we can't. we can experience things we can attribute to a god, nothing more

  • hehehe

  • I LOVE THE MAN IN THE RED SHIRT!

"Deepak, Bishop, do you believe that all belief is a coverup for insecurity?"

    Both, "Yes."

    HAHA!

  • Driscoll: I get my answers from Jesus......

What by email? Text messages? Does he call him on the cell?

Everyone knows that if you claim god talks to you, then you're officially nuts.

  • everyone knows yo mommy is a hoe

  • So's yours- How do you think we got here genius?

  • Mark Driscoll still is owning EVERYBODY

  • As soon as you define God, you limit God.... so true~

  • The problem with this is that God has revealed Himelf to mankind in His Word so that we could know Him. Driscoll is not defining God, He is proclaiming what God says about Himself in His Word, the Bible.

  • ROFL a few good ol southern baptists might make it

  • do you believe that?... yes. haha pwn'ed

  • Pearson was lucky God didn't hold his breath.

  • demon possession hasn't changed

the psychologists can't even solve most of the mentally ill because they are demon possessed

  • "And that's important?"

    haha, that lady nailed him

  • chessdawgz wrote "'And that's important?'

    haha, that lady nailed him"

Are you agreeing that moral boundaries are inconsequential? If so, you would have no recourse for any evil ever occurring. In fact, you cannot even presume that any act is any better or worse than another. That suspends reality in my opinion.

  • "I think that without that, you've sawn off the limb of morality you sit on"

    "is that important?"

must there be ONE morality? He makes it sound as if there's only two answers, and if I were there, I'd be laughing with the audience on that one

  • Mark was talking about rape and murder and then in essence the lady asks if it's important to have the distinction between knowing that they are right or wrong. So let us ask when is murder or rape acceptable? Or is it important to know when murder and rape are acceptable?

  • what's wrong with you OWN morality?

...since clearly believers can as be far from or as close morally objective, would following your own ethical code be any worse?

I think that what she's getting at, and any reasonable person should've said yes

  • 4:45 was a strawman.. these usually work because people are too stupid to be able to tell the difference between the real argument and the false one represented by the opposition. Deepak was clearly talking about religious belief, as that was the topic, not the word "belief". I believe the sun will rise tomorrow, thats not a cover up for insecurity. I have valid reasons to believe it. He should have worded it better though, because people are so stupid. He shoul dhave said "faith", not belief.

  • True

  • I'll just point this out: belief in a repeated system like the sun rising is the same as faith. You think that because of what you've observed that it will come up again, but there's no way for you to know that the universe won't collapse tonight or the sun won't explode. You're trusting in it to not in order to support your belief. Plus, you might do well to take a que from Chopra and recognize that insulting people by calling them stupid/primitive doesn't make you look smart.

  • Ok, I'll just point out that you are WRONG. Faith is a belief without evidence or even any need evidence. I do not have FAITH that the sun will rise tomorrow. I have lots of evidence to support that assertion. It doesn't mean it will happen, but the likeliness of it not approaches infinity. Therefore it is a reasonable belief and not faith.

  • your side does the same thing all the time. big deal.

  • I don't have a "side". What other people who are also non-believers do is irrelevant and has no bearing on what I am saying. If they are basing a belief on no evidence *they are wrong also*.

  • How do you judge an act as "good" or "evil"? That's an incredibly easy question that people often misrepresent as hard. Answer: Anything that which is detrimental to society is "evil". The evolution of morality explains this. Those who do things that harm the group are weeded out.

  • LOL at 4:55 DEEPAK gets owned LOL!!!!

  • how?

  • Deepak gets pwned at 4:45.
