  • Haha these statements are awesome. One cokehead weasel from what i read started playing texas hold em because no pne anywhere would play gin with him anymore. He then aced that and has what seems a huge reputation and had millions of dollars pass through his hands, after all this. Some you tubers are here, i dont remember seeing them on wikipedia are shooting off oh he aint nothing, he spent his money bad, man i could financially advise anyone etc Did you just wake up out of your wetdream about

  • @pescadoygamba What? I'm just going to assume you were drunk when you wrote this. I can see that you're trying to make a point, but it's not clear what it is.

  • lol he does look like a real loser, with this low cut v neck shirt like some girl trying to show off, and his fingers which are each a foot long. He wasn't human, that's really the truth.

  • Is there any video of his win at the 1980 main event?

  • Stu was the Amy Winehouse of Poker.

  • man, what a gay drug addicted guy.. disgusting

  • is that guy doyle brunson?

  • stu ungars best qualitys that made him a great player was his memory and his abilty to read people, to say he couldnt win in this day and ago is obsurd

  • JEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWMETICS.

Lol at these assclowns acting like this freak of nature wouldnt be able to win donkaments today. Are you joking; his IQ was documented at 189...he has the Galfond, Seidel, Einstein, Freud...Jewnetics.

    They cannot be stopped....

There is a reason west africans win sprints and Jews own brainsports...

    GG gentiles.

  • @zaxx19 LOL, This is the most brilliant statement I've ever seen online! Hands down! Thank you!

  • @zaxx19 LOL @ ULTIMATE RACISM

  • @zaxx19 no way I would easily beat this little coke head weasel in any game, especially gin whisky which is my specialty.

  • @zaxx19 i love this comment

    -dumb gentile

  • I like how it's just all these great poker players, old guys who've been doing it as a career for probably decades and then some punk kid comes in and shows them how it's done.

  • stu is tired because he's on a comedown... Heard they got fire blow back in the 80's

  • @flastatesoldier naw this was before he started using

  • lol, he doesn't know that a J is an out for him to

  • @InfoNympho44 he is saying 9,10,6, knave. a knave is a jack so you are very wrong

  • This is such a standard hand for heads up. Perry Green was drawing so dead, only had 6 outs. Ungar can never fold here, he has two over cards to pockets in Perry's range and the nut flush draw. At worst Ungar had 30% with a flush draw against a set, which he still had odds to call for. Why is this considered a sick hand in poker? Its super standard.

  • @GoSU4u1 Who said sick? It's the last of this event. Poker knowledge doesn't mean shit without common sense.

  • Stu Ungar repeating as champion in 1981, an amazing achievement in poker. A tough field and strong final table, but Stu beat them all. Runner-up Perry Green is a very good player in his own right, with 3 WSOP bracelets and other impressive tournament results on his record, but he was up against one of the best in the history poker. Against just about any other player, Green would have probably been the favorite to win, but against Stuey, nobody else was ever the favorite to win.

  • Stu was only the best ever for a couple periods of time in between drug uses. He has no affect on any of the greatness that has happened since. You simply cant compare him to Phil Ivey or Tow Dwan or any of the other icons you guys worship today. The fact is that we dont know how he matches up against the current talent.

I would be more apt to say that his mind was better suited for being the best at Gin Rummy than a game like poker.

  • The best don't really win today. Is aggresive play and hope luck is on your side. People back then plays much more conseravative and stu style was aggressive. People are afraid to lose back then. People now days will call you down with almost anything. He will not stand a chance against these youngster nowdays...

  • @vanthiectu He would have changed his playing style, do you think doyle brunson has been playing the same way for 60 years? People upgrade their skills.

  • It was a big different poker back then and today! People especially youngsters now days or FEARLESS AND MUCH more KNOWLGEABLE. compare to the olden days. If he was alive today he will not stand a CHANCE IN THE WSOP. There was a time in this wsop he raised 8 times in a row and everybody will fold because they are too scared to play. Try and do that NOW AND SEE WHAT HAPPEN. I gurantee he will lose his whole stack. People back then never really understand the game like how people does these days.

  • @vanthiectu yeah but must admit he was too much good for that era... and he doesn't saw TV poker shows where u can see % of every hand and stuff like that... he calculated every hand perfect 'cause he was a genius.. 3 times WSOP Main Event Champion.....Come on....

  • stu ungar was the GREATEST, addicition is a terrible thing, but it does not take away from his well earned LEGENDARY status, no matter what anyone says. PERIOD.

  • you cant be the best ever if you kill yourself. End of argument.

  • @madpuppy54 That makes no sense. So if somebody won the WSOP main event 10 times, WSOPE main event 10 times, 50 WPT events, and the 50000 HORSE tourney 10 times and then killed themself they wouldn't be the best ever? Not sure how you can say "End of argument" when you make absolutely no sense.

  • @sixer6

The fact is that he killed himself in his 40's and CANT win 10 titles of anything. Its impossible! Meanwhile other players can win many more titles, more money and receive more accolades than him yet you are going to point to the dead guy as the best player ever. That makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. Once you kill yourself early in life, you relinquish any ability to become an all time great. Stu hasnt won anything in many years last I checked. He was only the best at one time, not all time.

  • @madpuppy54 except.....he's been dead for years and nobody has beat his record yet. So...in a sense you're absolutely right, but the manner in which you try and argue your point is completely flawed. Stu Ungar is amazing BECAUSE of the fact that, over a decade after his death, regardless of the resurgence of poker's popularity, NOBODY has beat his record yet.

  • @edt5481 That might be because the fields are enormous now and people actually know how to play poker, unlike they did 30 years ago.

  • @Harvegg oh come on you can't be serious. Poker has been played for hundreds of years. You think that because more people have started playing that that means more skill is somehow being used? I'm not buying it. That's like saying that Jordan or Gretzky isn't great because they didn't do it against modern opponents. Say that to anyone and you'll get laughed out of the room.

  • @madpuppy54 you are such an idiot it's actually scary.

  • @madpuppy54

A trained monkey, given a long enough time frame, will win more titles than any human being. That doesn't mean the monkey is the best poker player ever. You have to take into account what the person was able to do with the time they had. Ungar is unmatched in that regard.

  • @madpuppy54 That is a dumb ass statement, Stu was the best there was.

  • I did cocaine in vegas and played poker and it was the best experience of my life.

  • Drop your SHIT man. Play some real webcam poker it’s the real thing. Its on at pokerview. Let do this!

  • z best

  • ungar played poker every day since he was like 10 years old. hes the mozart of poker

  • @pokeher26 He played gin rummy as a kid. Not poker. He went to poker because he was too good at Gin and no one would play him and he was rejected at tournaments.

  • Stu Ungar's stack was always dancing. It was constantly moving. R.I.P. Stu Ungar and Chip Reese

  • His math theory on poker is like trading

In trading you trade but cut short your losses and let your winners ride.

In poker you play and steal as many hands, but bet big on the strong hand.

If you do this over and over you get better at it, than it is the Holy Grail if you have the right character. This is the top level of math and psychology for both endeavors.

  • he looks like michael jackson gone wrong

  • awesome!

  • Stu Ungar was a gin rummy player. However, he was an amazing Card Player which is why he Was so good at the wsop

  • @victimasdelosio yeah but your mother is a bonafide cunt..

  • @victimasdelosio Greatest gin rummy player that ever lived, one of the greatest hold 'em players that ever lived.

  • @victimasdelosio

duh duh duh duh retard fuuuck u

  • A LEGEND !

  • thx god Stuey never knew online poker

  • stu is legendary but he was also a shiesty coke face that has no money management skills whatsoever i mean cmon how do u lose more than a million in 1 night? and he got scammed by a couple hookers lol

  • @pylet41 come on man...let it go. he was a good dad. he had fame and money. he got it young and messed up.

  • johnnymdee, experience counts for nothing in the face of pure genius plays and natural in-born brilliance, the true pure talent of Stu UNgar would teach any of the players of today a real lesson in dominance, just because these donks play online, so what ? Stuey was playing and beating the best when he was 16 years old AND younger, he was the ultimate player and Table Captain, ask anyone wh ever saw stuey play when he was in the zone, he was the greatest EVER. !

  • Mick Jagger... ??????????

  • Looks like a cross dressing pedophile.

  • Damn...the guy looks and dresses like a woman....

  • I believe Stu Ungar really is the greatest poker player of all time. Better then Brunson, Ivey, Antonious, and Durr.

  • Haha everyone wants to touch him like hes a little kid and hes all jerkin and shit like get the fuck off me LOL

  • But nowadays everyone cbets, it's nothing special anymore.

Stu was just an average aggro donkey who would feel weakness and raise big with air trying to get others to fold.

Maybe he was the best when others were total shit, but nowadays he wouldn't even be able to make the money in a $1 tournament.

Don't forget his cash game skills were shit. He didn't have the patience to fold, so after an hour he'd get impatient and reraise bluff all in every hand, until someone called and busted Stu.

  • @girlie347 your so full of shit, laughable comments, sounds like you need to learn some respect, stu ungar was the greatest player there ever was or ever will be, your just another young punk that busts before the money every time you play. your name gives it away, females suck at poker. R.I.P stu

  • @girlie347 Im sorry but you sound so stupid its not even funny... "He wouldnt be able to make the money in a $1 tournament" LOL.. i know what your saying about cbets and shit.. but you dont think if he was still alive, he would change his game up to how other players are playing.... Stu ungar's IQ was extremely high and if he was alive he would change his game and adapt to how others are playing.. and its a disgrace to what you said.. honestly you know nothing about poker

  • @LostKid115 By now there prolly a new game called Stuey's ...and Stuey's Hi-LO if he would had lived!

  • @girlie347 you say "Dont forget his cash games skills were shit" ok tournaments and cash games are totally different playing styles. Tom dwan is one of the best cash game players alive but he sucks in tournaments and Phil hellmuth is one of the best tournament players but sucks in cash games.. so you cant judge him on his cash games because in the end he was the best hold em tourney player to ever live

  • @LostKid115 stu won 2 million in tourneys and an estimated 28 million in cash games, so why dont you shut your fucking filthy mouth and learn your stuff before you talk shit with that dirty mouth

  • @girlie347 you're full of shit i'd love to play you at any card game you'd get raped.

  • @girlie347 You're an idiot

  • @girlie347 I can't even believe what I'm seeing, a fucking broke fucking filthy bitch criticizing the best poker player that ever lived. how dare you say his skills aren't enough to compete with today's players, you fucking stupid moron. if you knew about his outstanding mental agility with an estimated iq of 185+ and his photographic memory, you wouldn't even dare opening that filthy mouth to say what you just said. you better hope I won't find you cause I will smack the jesus out of you

  • @girlie347 google about how johnny chan, phil helmuth and other legends admitted that stu ungar wiped the floor off with them. when he entered the main even the first time, he never even played NLHE. and still won first prize, as doyle brunson claimed " I never saw someone improving so fast while the tournament was still going" and as for you don't you ever dare opening that mouth about the greatest card player ever to set foot on the planet, Stuart Errol Ungar himself

  • Stu is overrated because he died a long time ago. He played in a time where everyone just played for a pair of aces, nobody knew the odds for draws so any gutshot was good enough to go allin with, even as a 20% underdog.

Maybe Stu was so great because he was the only player who used the continuation bet. Back then everyone checked the flop, you only bet it when you had something, and advanced play would be to check it when you had nothing. To c-bet was unheard of back then

  • @girlie347 THAT'S THE POINT GENIUS. He was so ahead of the game for his time! Of course Stu Ungar of 1981 couldn't hold a candle to the durrrr's of the world, if they could magically play right this minute. durrrr has the advantage of poker software, online poker (millions of hands to play, etc.) People of Ungar's era only could play on the felt, study in their head (w/pad & pencil perhaps). There was no pokerstove, hundreds of books, online forums... You just had your brain... and your balls!

  • @JohnLeeMD if you seriously just said that tom dwan could keep up with stu ungar, then i strongly believe you need a good smack on that fucking face, how dare you compare a normal guy who played 5 years before he earned money to stu ungar who destroyed johhny chan, phil helmuth, doyle bruson, amrillo slim after playing thise game for just 2 days, you fucking stupid annoying son of a fucked up bitch

  • @JohnLeeMD how can it be that stu ungar won the wsop title in 1980 and 1981, and didn't play in any after those 2 and then return at the wsop in 1997 16 years later, and destroy the entire field even after having so many brain cells lost because of his cocaine addiction? is there something wrong with you? can't you see that stu absolutely the greatest who ever lived and that he would outplay phil ivey, tom dwan or anyone like they're just little kids who ply for the first time with their 10$

  • @dannyoo2 That was my point. My point was that Ungar was THAT great, in response to the guy saying he was overrated. If he were a young guy now, he'd be right there with the best. But to think that the Ungar of '80, '81, and '97... if he could magically teleport to 2010 for a HU match, would mop up Dwan, Ivey, etc, with all the experience (online, etc.) they have that he doesn't, you are seriously underestimating them and today's game.

  • @JohnLeeM you are comparing average people like tom dwan and phil ivey to someone that had an iq of 185, tom or phil maybe need to play 10,000 before they figure out something, stu ungar's intelligence is so ridiculously high that there's a chance he could have figured the same thing without even playing any hand by just imagining the problem. in other words, he learns at least a 100 times faster than them if not then a 100 billion times, do you understand

  • @dannyoo2 You are the typical fanboy, who sees some clips and then bases your opinion on them. Like 20-year olds who say Muhammad Ali is their favorite boxer... how would you know? You are pretty ignorant too, if you think Dwan or Ivey aren't poker geniuses... Ivey right now, is in line to someday be known as the greatest player of all-time. Dwan is following in those footsteps. So to say that Ungar, while right there with those guys, is 100 smarter than them--bottom line: you are a f'n idiot.

  • @JohnLeeMD when you see those poker after dark episodes where they gather old people in the game, they talk about all the people that are good but none of them talk about stu ungar. till today they are still even scared to mention his name. i know what it's like when it's so obvious that you're the best but no one will admit that because they are jealous. im not here to brag about it but im pretty sure my iq is beyond your reach. im talking from experience. so why dont you just shut the fuck up

  • @dannyoo2 watch?v=xmRG5l-oGt4--Mike Sexton - Stu Ungar and Phil Ivey

This is Mike Sexton. A contemporary of Stu Ungar, probably one of his closest friends, and of course has seen Phil Ivey play for years. And HE'S saying that Phil Ivey and Ungar are comparable as players (and overall gamblers). So for you to say that Ivey or durrrr can't hold a candle to Ungar, ESPECIALLY considering you are a kid who doesn't know shit and weren't even an itch in your daddy's pants, basically you need to STFU.

  • @JohnLeeMD your intelligence is not high enough to stimulate your imagination but it it was, you would easily figure out that these are questions someones asks him since this is an interview, and because he doesn't wanna disrespect phil ivey he will at least say it in a way it wont bring phil down, while he knows in the back of his head there is no fucking way in hell that he can sit down at a table with the all time legendary stuart errol ungar him fucking self, and not go broke, stfu fckng ho

  • STU UNGAR MY FUCKING IDOL!

  • that guy has a powerful gut

  • you tell me Master

  • i loved your song in curries, almost made me cry too, ive SCORED that BOOK i GAVE THE REASONS ITS SO SPECIAL I HIGHLIGHTED the fucking book of morphy who i LOVED it was my dads 2nd fav posession:) page 184 The World Is His Fatherland at the bottom marked in with byro says weep not O europe rejoice not, America For lower level on his own far away + mums safty as i said we had a deal in curries, god i want to be with you but not at the hell your putting me through

  • string bet 4tw xD

  • What has Perry Green done since this tournament ? Is he still around and how old is he ?

  • @johnnycheck99 8th at this years WSOP Omaha 8 event, around £1million in career earnings. Definitely not a bad player by all means.

  • Comment removed

  • @johnnycheck99 perry quit poker since that day because he couldn't believe that stu could defeat him so easily like he was no one. perry is now in a mental institution he lost his mind he keeps repeating his last outs in this hand, 9 10 6 jay, 9 10 6 jay, perry is a broken man, stu really finished him

  • stu asked perry if he had 2 hearts at exactly the right time when he was open for suggestions because he had fear and perry said I don't even have one that's when stu calculated his chances with lightning speed while fat perry was sitting there being defeated by the greatest of all time, poor perry

  • @dannyoo2

    lol

  • i wish we can see stu cards to see how he played, greatest poker player in history of the game i would lovee to see how he did it. Anyone would love to try to play he did although thats impossible, there was only and will ever be only 1 stu ungar

  • genial cette video....respect from france....

  • His belt was unbuckled.....funny

  • @texassocialite8

Odd's are in your favor in that certain situations. That's just sick. Dont think there is anything you can do there.

No prob, I can answer that question, my advice to a newer poker player player is sign up with Full Tilt with bonus code UTUBEBONUS.

Using this method, you can get double your first deposit. Basically deposit $30 to your new Full Tilt account, and they will award you an additional $30. It will work all the way up to 500 bucks! Test it out for yourself!.

  • With all due respect, I can't feel TO bad for him. He blew all his winnings on cocaine and was a gambling addict. Good player though

  • i call with 10 high, wheres that one?

  • @GlobalStrike1 some guy played aggressive and moved all in on the river then stu said you either have 4-5 or 5-6 so im gonna call, and he had 10 high. this footage is so legendary that wmg studios refrained youtube from showing it to people

  • @GlobalStrike1 It's a legend - only witnessed by those were there - Phil Hellmuth was there and saw it. It was during a heads up freeze-out that Stuey challenged the 1990 ME champ Mansour Matloubi to(because Stuey fucked up and OD'd the night before the final table so he couldn't finish the tournament) there's a nice article about it on the poker verdict website :-)

  • its not u mate, the sound on this video is positively deafening ,lol, but its still great, i love stu ungar! may his memory never die...

  • someone should show norman chan the winner

  • Stu looks really dishonest... But he is still one of (or even the) best poker player of all times!

  • ok i see what ur saying but you're actually a month late in responding to the comment i made. the dicussion i was having was not saying that ivey is better than stu or stu not being the best ever. im trying to make the point of why is everyone so sure? these are two unbeliveable players but they're playing at different era's of poker. with the way shit is being played now, dont be surprised if stu gets knocked out of a lot of tournys the first day. he wouldn't dominate. there's no way he would.

  • how can i have a flush? theres only two hearts out there LOL

  • lol stu is legendary for blowing his roll up his nose

  • Hey, TMX0000.... you're a fucking moron.

  • i miss u stu :(

  • Yo tmx0000, I highly doubt you can take this guy on at all. And you gotta be kidding me if you think this guy is garbage.

  • I like how stu pushes his chips in, also how the other guy puts his in also

  • @tmx0000 this guy can beat you with no cards and no chips

  • Good ole' river.

  • Stu doesn't look healthy :(

  • Donk Fest? Stu would crush even today. It was a pretty standard all in and call at this point in the tournament.

  • @Sconi71 standard then and standard now.....would love to see stu and ivey get it on in a cash game these days on tv.

  • @doccy

I rarely comment on videos, but I hope your comment is a joke. Ungar is beyond legendary; the really is no word to describe how great he was!

  • Comment removed

  • @pickpoche 100% no doubt!

  • id have to say the big difference between stu and ivey is that when stu got to a final table he ripped it up. although im not trying to take anything away from ivey cause obviously hes also a great player

  • couldnt agree more with you Ayoudell, what a gladatorial tear-up stu against ivey would be, its a match made in heaven :)

  • Ivey's best game is not NLHE. Phil Ivey is a fantastic player, but I don't believe he is the best NLHE player in the world. I wish Ungar was still alive so we could watch the two of them play cards together, what a treat it would be!

  • i agree that would be cool as hell. but no one said ivey was the best nlh player ever. he's just considered the best in the world right now.

  • @blpro i believe that with if stu had the bankroll, ivey would not be a match for stu. stu's the michael jordan of poker, ivey's the kobe bryant. as immense and close as it would be, stu's just too incredibly good at poker.

  • honestly im not sure what u mean when u say "bankroll" do u mean more chips than ivey if they were going heads up? if so then yeah stu better win or should because anyone who has the most chips has the advantage. or do u mean "bankroll" as in stu would be able to buy himself in as many tournaments as he would like so, he'd be able to win more bracelts? really no matter what u say your going to favor stu because you want him to be the best. its called being biased. i dont favor ivey or stu.

  • @Ayoudell i agree but Ivei is good at NLH. He is the best all around player of this time, to me is Stu then Ivey. But yet again, i might be wrong, if very hard to know who is the best because of the time period difference

  • @iHannibal9216 then the only way to find out who was better is too see what players played with stu ungar in that time that are also playing with phil ivey today, one of them is doyle brunson, those 2 are 2 of the best today but ivey can't wipe the floor with doyle brunson unlike stu, so thats why I think stu was the best

  • @dannyoo2 true, very true.

  • Comment removed

  • stu moved in on Mansour because stu knew EXACTLY what his opponent had ; a perfect read ; it just goes to show how truely great stuey was, he would run all over phil ivey! ivey only came 7th in wsop!!! stuey won wsop 3 times! :)

  • well actually thats an unfair comment. you really cant say stu would out play ivey because there completely different players and they played in a completely different generation of poker. There was a couple hundred to a thousand during stus day for tournys, for phil, he has to battle 10's of thousands today. thats like saying Jordan would destroy James. it would be a great matchup but, you never know is all im saying.

  • @memyselfandeye3 ivey got there in a considerably larger field...a few hundred vs a few thousand...hard to compare

  • wait wait... you cant compare the two plaers results in wsop cause phil played after the poker boom and getting to the final table today is like much harder than in those days...

and the all in was nothing special draw vs draw....

  • stu also had the high card and a better draw...

  • she just a dopey bird who knows fuck all about poker....lol at stu ungar playing nl50

  • Girlie437 U need to shut the fuck up! I speak for anyone thats ever played poker that i do believe u dont know what the fuck ur talking about.

Read 'The man behind the shades' (if u can read!) and then apologise to the legacy that is Stuey Ungar

  • why nobody have the 1980 final table video?

  • It's been said that it doesn't exist. Which is sad, because we would all love to see the interaction between Stu and Doyle.

  • @SFValleyDweller doyle probably bought it and destroyed it

  • Stu looks like hes on drugs

  • @ciderath00 he is

  • guys like durrrr and ivey play the style that is recommended in super system, which was published in 1978...ungar wasn't just pushing in and hoping for the best girlie347, believe it or not, poker was played at a high level 30 years ago. if anything, i see the donks today pushing in on draws and hoping more than they would have 30 years ago

  • i've read about ungar. His life was shoking. His iq was avobe 180 (top genius) and had huge trouble with drugs.

He happened to be mega agressive since he wouldn't care about money and so he had multiple swings from millionaire to broke

  • yeah think its quite obvious girlie hasnt read his book and knows very little about him

  • As for Stu being at the level of a NL20 t NL50 player, here's an anecdote. Stu once won a 50,000 pot in a cash game when I guy missed a draw and shoved all-in on the river. Stu declared, "you have 54," and called with just J-10 in the hole. He was right. Exactly right. He had a phenomenal ability to read other people's hands and also an ability to count cards.

  • You are wrong about that hand, the hand you are referring to was later reproduced i by Phil Hellmuth in an article for Cardplayer Magazine. In 1992 Stu faced 1990's WSOP champion Mansour Matloubi in a couple of 50k heads up matches. In one of these Masour had missed he's draws on a 337 flop. The board showed 337QK and Mansour shoved he's last 30k of chips on the river and Stu said i am sure u have 54 and he called with 10 high, 10 9 off. Phil H. later said "Stu could not even beat a J high bluff

  • my bad. It was even more impressive than I recalled.

  • girlie you really think if stu ungar was still alive and not a raging coke head he would be playing nl50? with hes iq and memory you not think he would just move along with the game as it has changed?

  • Why is Green playing like hes beat. All he needed was one double up and he was even. Then he min raises, calls a substantial raise and puts it all in with a draw. Terrible play from Green.

  • Do you know the SIZE of the shit you just said?

  • This situation is not surprising given the metagame. Perry had two overcards and an open-ended draw. He is actually getting the better end of a coinflip against an unpaired A high or even a hand like A-8. This is a great spot to get a shortstack in against a bully. Unfortunately, Stu also had overcards with a stronger draw which took away outs, and was following the exact same line of thinking. He is about 38% to win on the flop and getting the odds to call. I'd bet that both players knew that.

  • @girlie347 lol at your comments do some reserch i have a playlist on my channel about him lol your to funny

  • i wish he didn't was an degenerate

imagine how great would see he playing against durrrr, or ivey at high stakes poker

  • so you wish he wasn't a degenerate so he could fucking entertain you?

What about his daughter you sick fuck?

  • ez my friend, i was saying this to Stu the poker player

of course i wish he could had a better life with his family and friends

  • calm down, retard '-.-
