You may esteem him A child for his might Or you may deem him A coward from his flight But if she, whom Love doth honor, be concealed from the day Set a thousand guards upon her Love will find out the way Some think to lose him By having him confined Some do suppose him Poor thing, to be blind But if ne'er so close ye wall him Do the best that you may Blind Love, if so ye call him Will find out his way (continued)
Over the mountains And over the waves Under the fountains And under the graves Under floods that are deepest Which Neptune obey Over rocks which are the steepest Love will find out the way Where there is no place For the glow-worm to lie Where there is no space For receipt of a fly Where the gnat dares not venture Lest herself fast she lay But if Love comes, he will enter And will find out the way (continued)
@GayGeisha It's originally an English song with an anonymous composer, dated to about 1600. Roger Quilter did his own arrangement in the late 19th century based on Percy's Reliquaries.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I was obsessed with this movie when it was first released but no one I knew seemed to have an interest in it. I'm so happy to see someone is giving it recognition. The opening music is phenomenal!!!!!
Yes he is. I just finished reading Asylum last week and now I'm finally reading Spider after all this time. Have you read any others you can recommend? I heard Grotesque and Trauma are both great. I have to decide on what to read next.....
I think I heard this on Heavenly Creatures but I could be wrong.

You may train the eagle
To stoop to your fist
You may train in veigle
The Phoenix of the east
The lioness, you may move her
To give o'er her prey
But you'll ne'er stop a lover
He will find out his way

I didn't much care for Spider the movie, but this Over the Mountains song with the beautiful piano accompaniment was very moving and enjoyable.

"Grotesque" is certainly the best McGrath's novel I've read.
He outlined a complex plot that works as a perfect mechanism.
It's cynical and humorous.
