  • Fantastic

  • who's the black saxophone soloist, that dudes a dam beast!!!

  • TheBartekc

Great observation. Even when you apply this to other types of music like vocalists you find the greatest singers are the greatest communicators, not necessarily the prettiest voices.

  • I'm glad to have had some jazz training as it gave me many opportunities to play whatever styles I was interested in. Improvisation, especially in a live setting, allows the audience to tap into the player's mind. When you improvise you are truly at the peak of your playing and that's the difference that makes good music for me. So maybe what I'm really trying to say is good music comes down to good communication.

  • Whew, that first vid is the hottest groove ever.

  • the end is like black stravinsky ;)

  • Anybody know what album this is from?

  • Es hermoso!!!!!

    beauty!! =D

  • Alright. Some jazz is good sometimes.

  • @TheBartekc Jazz is the only true expressive music outside of classical. Even still, what is classical? It's taking a genius's previous work and playing what's on the page to the best of your ability. Jazz is raw, unfiltered feeling. At least improv is. If you were going to classify Kenny G with Jazz, which should never be done, then I would have to agree that some jazz is terrible, and lacks emotion. Man, go listen to some more Wynton, some Coltrane, some Parker, you will change your mind.

  • Don't call it Jazz - call it good music.

  • @TheBartekc It is jazz and jazz IS good music.

  • @ TheBartekc hello, il faut appeler les choses par leur nom Jazz is jazz great Music don't you think so ?. see you

  • The majesty of Jazz !! !! !!

  • it reminds me to duke ellington big band

  • @drlluc Exactly! With Wynton sounding occasionally like Cat Anderson...

  • @drlluc Well considering that the Lincoln centre Jazz Orchestra is dedicated mainly to keeping alive the music of Duke Ellington, it should do.
