Yeah Piper Alpha was in July and three trains crashed into each other in Clapham, London, killing 35 on 12th December. Some of those who survived the initial collision between the first two were killed when the third train ran into the wreckage. Terrible times.
A flight attendant was found alive in the nose section of the plane. She was the only person found with a pulse after the crash. She was dead by the time paramedics had arrived. It was later determined that several other people survived but froze to death or died of their massive injuries before rescue workers found them. May God bless them and may they RIP.

Also my wife had a terrible time that Christmas, I was at Oxford Uni at the time, and she had a late-night shift working as a nurse at St. Georges Hospital in Tooting, London. Tragically, her boss, the chief consultant - a good friend, who I met once, died of a heart attack that night. Coming back, she told me about the news, not realising about the plane crash, I told her about it and she watched the BBC Breakfast from this, I heard about the crash from the radio earlier that night

Coming back, she told me about the news, not realising about the plane crash, I told her about it and she watched the BBC Breakfast from this, I heard about the crash from the radio earlier that night

@KevCityboy I know, I was a school girl and remember watching on the news about both tragedies :-( My thoughts are with the families of those who lost loved-ones on board the plane and also in Lockerbie, Scotland :-(

Hi. Yes I set the video going just before 8 and have about 90 minutes worth. My daughter had been born on Mon 19th that was the reason I recorded it.
