  • Did you know if you do it in reverse it sings "Pull to the side of the road and shut off the vehicle", then gives you a ticket.

  • That's about a mile away from me.

  • Lol

  • I drove past it without knowing it was there... It scared the shit out of me

  • Hah the cops could sit there and listen to the music and then catch the ones that are playing it too fast, lol

  • A good idea for rockband "car hero"

  • Hah the cops could sit there and listen to the music and then catch the ones that are playing it too fast, lol

  • now do it on expert

  • ps I think you have to drive along the road at 55mph to get the best 'musical' effect...good luck!

  • The 'song' is supposed to be the finale of The William Tell Overture from the opera Guillaume Tell by Rosini...and yes, the song was also used as the Lone Ranger tv theme

  • That is so awesomeee!!! It's the lone Ranger theme right? Why do people have to complain? It goes on for like not even a minute, get over it.

  • what is the song?

  • That is very cool! But I can't believe they built it in Lancaster, CA of all places, which has the reputation of the "Meth capitol of the world".

  • @ocf1fan1 no. there is hardly any meth activity in lancaster. i should know, IVE LIVED THERE MY WHOLE LIFE. shut the fuck up.

  • @Zeldarulezman I know too, I've lived here in the Greater LA area my whole life and yes I do know what I'm talking about and DO NOT TELL ME TO STFU.

  • @ocf1fan1 the actual city of los angeles is a completely different concept. lancaster is more subtle than the suburbs. theres almost no crime in lancaster, and i think the "meth capitol of the world" would be somewhere around harlem or florida.

  • THIS IS SOOO COOL I'VE ROAD ON THIS ROAD WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID WITH MY DAD

  • I would absolutely HATE this if I had to drive it regularly.

  • They just moved it a few miles to the side I think. I was on it today!

  • Comment removed

  • i drove through that

  • @MsKoOlMiChElLe how was it to drive that road

  • its still there. if it isnt the same one, there's another. off of avenue G. wish it was longer.

  • I am gonna make the road next to my house do the same thing, but sound like screams of horror in pain.. That'll wake your sleepy driver ass up. :)

  • now people who fall asleep hits this will turn the wheel left thinking there on the sidewalk and then BAHM..meets the front end of a dump truck... Good idea tho !:)

  • Don't anyone go rushing out to Lancaster now. The road has been paved over due to people complaining about the "annoyance".

  • that would be a lot cooler if it didnt sound like shit

  • what tha ...?O_O

  • my family went on avenue g

  • wow thats genius!!!! :)

  • lol nice

  • You fucked it up. obviously you shouldn't be accelerating and decelerating if you want it to sound the way its suppossed to.

  • im up in lanecaster i dont see that road nvr did i lived in lanecaster cali my almost my whole life

  • @apn818 its gone now

  • @gag2much WHAT WHY?

  • They should do a musical road that sounds like "Never Gonna Give You Up" so everyone who drives over it gets rick rolled and can't do anything about it.

  • @monicannabella my god that would be the ultimate rick roll

  • @monicannabella thast good but it should only be hearable when your speeding so u get rick rolled for speeding.

  • @monicannabella Best idea ever!!!

  • Stupid white bitches. Omg this this is the singin road pinches pendejos ur going 2 fast.

  • @510JEM shut up you filthy spic.

  • @ROY0666 This a video about a fucking road, grow the fuck up.

  • ths like wow didnt know dey make those 4 singing tht kinda scary but awesome

  • hahaha try going like 120mph or trying going the opposite omg its funny haha

  • Just so everyone knows, they moved this to Ave. G & 40th W. near Apollo park due to noise complaints.

and yes my husband and I made this video and yes it does sound better faster, we were just playing around with it and thought we would share it.

    Patricia

  • looooooooool

thats funny:) i wantone in germany...hahahaha

  • This is neat to me in many ways. I live in Illinois now, with my brother ... who was born at Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster. I lived just down the road from this location no N 70TH W Street. This is where I grew up. My school bus went down this road every day. But this there were fields, trees and homes. Now it looks so dry and barren! I have not been back there since 1969.

    Thanks for the memories!

  • Yes they did pave it up but they re-did at a couple miles away so that the people that were complaining couldnt hear it anymore. its now located in, literally, the middle of nowhere

  • he went to slow so it sounds weird if u go faster it sounds better n they paved over that one so the new one is at lk Lancaster by the fair grounds on the left side were these lk trees in the middle of no where n just stay on the left on the right road n go fast ull see a sign sayin lk Musical Road-Honda its sick lol :)

  • what speed sounds the best?

  • this sounds a ton better if you start fast enough and stay the same speed

  • they paved this road over now. people living up to 1/2 mile away could hear it.

  • theres a new one dummy

  • that is way too cool.....thx for posting...

  • I'm not giving this asshole .02 dollars.

  • This is amazing. I want a road like that! ;_;

  • i heard that the people who live near this can hear it day and night and are really annoyed by it

  • It doesn't look like anyone lives near it.

  • People live near it I promise.. haha they just complain. But they moved it, so It's still in the AV

  • thats the road they made for the honda commercial.

    :D

  • William Tell Overture ftw!!

  • Judging by the blue glitter dashboard and the stick stuck in your defrost vent, I think it's safe to say that this would have sounded alot better if you weren't driving a piece of shit on circa-2000 mis-matched firestone wilderness tires that you likely picked up at a sweet yard sale. Just my .02

  • You seem like an angry shit. Just my .02

  • i wounder how it would sound if a motorcycle went over it

  • it sounds odd.. more crappy then odd

  • Sounds better when you are up to speed.

  • @STtheboy It'd be REALLY loud. Yeah, I went over with my window down and that friggin thing deystroyed my ears.

  • @STtheboy it wouldn't be right. theres a whole sh*t load of psychics behind it. you'd need the double wheel base

  • @STtheboy Like Bag Pipes.

  • @STtheboy It would probably sound a lot like wind

  • @STtheboy It plays in mono instead of stereo.

  • they took that shit off stupid fucken people were bitching that it made too much noise its in the middle of the fucken desert y they fuck will you care

  • I used to live in Lancaster. This stretch of road is right between two large housing developments. You can't see them in the video but they are there. People were complaining about cars repeatedly driving over it at all hours of the day and creating traffic issues. 2 miles westward and you have empty desert. That's where it should have been built!

  • isent it over on ave g now?

  • theres a muscial road in los angeles,

look under "musical road los angeles"

  • I hope my tax money isn't being wasted on such junk! If you want to keep drivers awake, give free cofee.

  • whats the difference then? And it was sponsored by honda so calm yourself...

  • Unfortunatly the road was paved over already

  • It was remade In October I read.

  • my friend was on it on sunday.

  • So instead of fixing roads, we are cutting into them to make "music". Way to go!

  • relax..there is only like 2 of these in the entire world lol

  • The road has been rebuilt a few miles away

    go to musicalroad (dot) net

    for more info

  • I would like to go over that at 120 with my jeep's loud ass mud tires.

  • Can anyone spell anymore? Do they still teach grammar in the K-12 schools across 'merica?

  • Nope, they replaced it with Spanish

  • Zeno, though your comment makes no sense whatsoever (grammar is not mutually exclusive to any language), I'll humor you for a minute--it might be a good thing if they do teach formal Spanish in the schools, especially after NAFTA and the fact that our economy is in shambles and more interdependent with Latin American economies than ever. But let me guess: you are probably xenophobic, short-sighted and close-minded and you think 'merica should be an English-only country, right? Right.

  • My comment makes perfect sense when you acknowledge the amount of Spanish speaking immigrants are coming in. No I am not a xenophobic person nor am a short sighed and closed minded. If you saw some of my social rants you would see I am not short sighted however I do very much so have a personal view about society that is rather defined and no ethnicity is not a factor, independent choice against conformity is. I have and live in a community primarily Hispanic, African American, and Asian.

  • I have no problem with heritage, ethnicity or culture, I have a problem with people being brain washed from there individuality. I am for the gathering of free thinkers and the reformation of individuality in the social structure and against the ever cascading problems of conformist society, cause you know maybe if people stopped being follows and started becoming leaders we would not be in this " shambled economy " I don't have to be against and ethnicity to be against the ignorant.

  • He or I? If i may ask.

  • whats the real purpose for those rumble strips? to kill your tires?

  • more friction

  • usually these are places on the outer edges of roads to jolt sleepy drivers awake..

  • To wake up the sleepy drivers that drift onto the shoulder.

  • HAHA!

  • was the commercial for honda?

  • people REALLY complained about this, what idiots, the riges give more grip so it it not a safety issue, and since there is such a small area of riges, there would be no tire damage as long if you did not swerve back and forth everyday on that road for 2 months, so yea

no reason to get rid of that

  • It's hard to drive a motorcycle over.

  • i wanna go through it!!!!!

  • the road is now on ave g on road to apollo park i went over it yesterday.

  • cool road! i didnt believe it at first.,

  • lol i thought the commercial was a joke..not real.lol now i know its real

  • Cool! I saw that commercial. What was the song that road had on it anyway? Whatever it was... didn't make much sense.

  • The song is the beginning of the William Tell overture. It's hard to tell because it's slowed down, but once you know, it's a little easier to hear it...

  • they should put those everywhere but like different tunes and then they wouldn't need street signs you just listen to the name of the tune

  • i went on this!!! it was so cool

    hahaha

  • the road was moved! it's on ave g now

  • hahaha YES YES AND YES there should be a police chase on this road.

  • lmao...that would be hilarious...

  • Lol it's funny hearing the person speeding by at 0:38

  • its so off..

  • that guy at the begging sounds like johnny Knoxville

  • I thought so too!

  • my aunt lives on the houses near it.

she said she could hear it at night and it was irritating :P

thats probably why they got rid of it.

  • I heard people living near the the road got tired of hearing the sound day after day.

  • the stock civic tires work the best and they made the road more dips so its louder

  • I actually just read that it is best listened to in a Honda Civic.

  • how fast to you have to drive for it to sound at the right tempo?

  • about 55, i think

  • works better with a hybrid cause its quiet

  • its now on g and 30th west

  • Lambo in 180mph

  • i thuoght it was 65 mph

  • or 55

  • you have to hit 60

and its the William Tell Overture.

  • what could they possibly say as a valid complaint? "the musical notes hurted my ass"

  • wat song is this

  • Its the Lone Ranger

  • I heard Barack Obama is using stimulus money to expand song roads all over the USA.

  • i heard that barack obamas a moron who makes fun of special olympics ppl :P

  • i heard your a dumbass who has no idea what your talking about

  • I believe that this is NOT the appropriate place to say that.

  • i agree

  • Thats Awesome but kind of short though. It would be better if they put it at least twise.

  • I have lived in quartz hill 4 five years never have gone to it

  • I live like 20 miles from lancaster lol

  • i was Born in Lancaster but now live in alabama

  • boner

  • The Reason Its Out Of Order Is U Should Be Doing Apx. 80mph Over It

  • Comment removed

  • Drove on this road on Ave K all the way to 90th St. West. I think it was repaved. Didn't see or hear shit..

  • They repaved the road and moved it to Ave. G and 50th W.

  • Thanks steelhorserider76, I drove on the musical hwy this afternoon. My kids loved it, I kept turning around over and over again. The song sounded like Ten Little Indians.

  • sounds really weird in your car.

  • I drove over that last night! Apparently it's supposed to be the William Tell Overture, but it doesn't sound a thing like it. :P

  • It probably depends on the speed you're going. Wrong speed => wrong timing => wrong song.

  • wrong carwrong sound. It is based on the wheelbase of the car. Speed only tells the speed of the song. You must have a honda civic. Saddly, it will be removed I heard.

  • ya 55 mph

    he was going over

  • It is gone. Tried it at Thanksgiving 2008. Nothing...

  • actually they moved it to ave G west of the freeway torwards fox air field and apollo park. stay in the left lane

  • Is that the william tell overture?

Only the most maniacal ricers will get to hear it at the right speed

  • the road is undoubtably a homosexual..

  • aw.. they removed it?? cnn says it still there.

  • I never did it but i had thought of this in about 1985. I wanted to have musical fanfare and a voice that would say, "welcome to new york" or the equivalent, wherever you are. also it might be cool for warnings.

So many people in the world. eventually somebody will come up with whatever you have thought of.

  • Doesn't sound like music, sounds like a typical Honda breaking down.

  • A Honda breaking down?

    ...

    You mean a Ford?

  • Honda last forever you idiot

  • lol hmmmm. American car company going bankrupt....Honda...??? Hmmmm. Uhh ill take my honda

  • It was done by Honda for an advert.

  • lol yea this was paid for by honda. Not california.

  • Actually, Honda paid for it. They created it for a TV ad. The noise bothered people living in the area so it has now been relocated to another road.

  • ya plus about a month later they took it out. What a bigger waste of money.

  • LANCASTER IS A FREAKIN CITY!!!!in the desert in california duhhh its not a country ; )!!

  • Very concerned about another aspect of intrusion by media advertising. Pretty soon you wont be able to take a crap without having advertising being blared at you. This type of advertising is more intrusive toa captive audience as it is impossible to 'tune out'. Rather than worrying about 'Big Brother' we must concern ourselves with Madison Ave or in this case Madison ave 'K'!

  • I used to dread going to lancaster. Too long of a drive from Newhall.

  • cool.. the ppl suck i heard they took it down

  • LOL that sucks i heard old ppl were like saying its too loud

  • Ironclaw, you are ignorant. The US contributes hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars to relief all over the world. It pours into so many countries, it is there whenever there is a catastrophe like the tsunami a few years ago. Go read a book- you can't blame us for everything. It makes you look foolish.

  • ya gotta admit though..americans do spend a lot of money on pointless things..but i get what ur saying..plus now i think of it..so does everyone else:S (spend money and stupid shit)..like coloured toilet paper..its all gunna be brown anyways..like..fuck

  • if you want to get technical, no one needs fashionable clothes, no one needs big cars, big houses, fancy meals, television, sports, alcohol... youtube.

the US is the babysitter of the world, i think we can afford to spoil OURSELVES once in a while.
