  • I am now just starting the handsprings and doing some research to see what is good for me to start with, i just landed the reverse ashya and heard that can help you with the iron X, which i am assuming works out that same area for handsprings... so will doing the cartwheel mount/handspring help with the handspring in the future?

  • bonnie - DJ Icey 'Dreams'

am so inspired, but so need this clip to hand when I am at class!

  • do you happen to know the name of this song or the artist name? I luv this track! By the way ur def one of my fav pole dancers and I have learned a lot from your videos I can only dream on 1 day being as good as. keep em coming! =)

p.s. any advice on getting the (side) splits? my flexibility is lacking and I am not sure what the best stretches are

  • You have no idea how helpful this video was! Thank you! Thank you!

  • super helpful!! and the flops are a nice touch!!! ;)

  • the first one always really hurts my left arm :/

  • How do you know if your arms are strong enough to do this without falling!

  • I will try it now. Thanks :)

  • I have been dying to try this one...thanks for making a tutorial!

  • Which video is your full cartwheel video, I am trying to learn that move. Thanks.

  • awesome instruction =] still cant get either but I will soon!

  • does your top arm ever straighten out or constantly bent? i have the twisted grip down pat but cant seem to get this one.

  • thank you soooo much I have been try'n this move for months and thaught i just wasnt strong enough!

  • Thanks so much for this! I have been trying to get this for a couple days now. Thanks for the advice!

  • Thanks :) I feel more encourage to give it a try, although handspring looks so dangerous and scary to start with... lol

  • it looks it but once you try it a few times and get the mechanics down.. you pretty much face that fear :)

  • hey im still trying to do it... any tips ?? please.

  • I'm still struggling too. I guess it's just like any other pole moves,, they seem impossible then if you just keep practising, suddenly you have a breakthrough.

  • Thanks For this

Your hair looks ace like that by the way! x

  • After Sara showed me how to go into the butterfly by just going into a split grip and then kicking that hooking leg up I started thinking maybe I could do a handspring. This tutorial is perfect and as soon as I get Chaka back up I'm going to try.

  • I had been wondering about the difference between these two. I can do the cartwheel. I'll have to try the front mount one now! :D Thanks Karol! x

  • Hey love! Do you have any advice for full cartwheels? I want to try it so bad but I don't know where on Earth to begin hehe Thanks in advance. :)

  • yeah, doing and thinking of it that way will help you spot up the pole to where you want your feet to eventually be..

the cartwheel mounted version is harder to teach, IMO.

  • great! thanks for watching!!

  • omg! i love your outfit! i look retarded if i try to wear the long shorts like that. i'm half colombian, half polish, so i got the thick hips and then the skinny calfs and i look dumb hahaha

  • Watching how much work you put into your dance and how much natural skill you have too proves just how underrated this form of dance is.

  • Thanks for posting this..I was looking for some help and this just popped on my page without looking for it. I will post my progress as a response when i do final get this.

  • good luck, its a scary one to get but once you do it once youll have it down.. its just the part of getting over the fear of throwing your feet over your head with just your hands on the pole.. send me a vid of your attempts/progress and good luck!!

  • i bet that's what i'm doing wrong!! i have my arm too high..possibly cuz it seems that way after watching this..lol..also my shoulder is really sore today. did yours hurt after the shoulder mount (shoulder lift cuz i'm not really mounting yet)lol.thanks girl your so awesome!!.

  • yeah the shoulder mount kills your shoulder at first.. but make sure when youre doing it that your not banging your shoulder into the pole. work on that handspring, it took me a loooong time to get that one, so dont give up.

  • lol ok thanks girl..my arms are killin me today.lol..i've been trying it since last night..Bennie even tried to like lift me up when i threw my legs up..hehe..but yeah i'll keep workin on it...thanks so much gurl!!

  • This was really helpful! Thankyou!!!

  • Thanks so much for takin a look, i'll keep at it now i know its just about gettin more strength in the move, hopefully oneday soon on a higher ceiling ,.. thanks again, your an inspiration to keep tryin :)

  • no problem...!!

  • Perfect handspring! i love the way you do it, but 4 some reason i dont seem to be getting it the way i want, in the cartwheel. You seem to kick up and stay at side, i'm kickin and going right in front of pole, only holding it, when im quite bent in the middle? it doesnt look as good, have you got any tips on what im doing wrong? I love yr vids !

  • ok, i just went and watched your handspring vid.. your cartwheel mount looks fine to me... the more you work on it the better youll get at it. its hard to straighten it up when your ceiling is low too...! good job!

  • Excellent tutorial thank you!

  • thank you for watching!!

  • A perfect tutorial. thank you!

  • thanks..!

  • Do you use ur dominate hand as the top hand or do you use your nondominate hand to get into that position?

  • i use my dom hand on top for the cartwheel mount... dom hand on bottom for the front handspring mount.. but everyones different..!

  • I wish you were my teacher. In a way you are. This is one of my favorite moves and still not there. My body gets up but not high enough. I feel like I'm going to bang my foot on the pole. My body never makes up that far. Any tips on how to fight the gravity so my body won't keep snapping back?

  • if you watch closely youll see me tuck my legs a bit after i kick back and up.. try engaging your upper body more. keep trying, it took me a VERY long time to finally get this one.

  • you are a true testament to pole dancing, the change in your tone and body shape in each video is unbelievable!! go girl!! love the dreads too, bring them back!!

  • thanks julie, ill bring the dreads back sometime!! glad you enjoy my videos =)

  • how long were you dancing before you tried/accomplished the cartwheel mount?

  • it took me a while to get the handspring... close to a year. so keep at it!

  • i had 6 yrs under my belt before i ever saw and started to try the handspring. Everyone is different and there are some ladies on here that learned it in a matter of weeks/months so its just a matter of practice and determination.

  • Very helpful, I'll be giving this another go soon!

  • i tried the twisted grip, boy does she make that look easy... its definately NOT and will be a while before i can do it as effortlessly as her.. i have my practice vid up, check it out..

  • just one question, right after you kick your legs back and, right before you bring them up straight, you do something for a split second. that thing that your doing for a split second is what I'm doing wrong. so what exactly is it that your doing? it happens right between 25 and 26 seconds.

  • yeah, you should be turning your hips to face the pole..

  • I've been looking for tips on how to do this. thanks a lot for posting

  • Karol, this is just great! Didn't know there were two mounts to do handspring. Gonna practice again ;)

  • Thanks liza! Apparently there are 3 mounts, i just found out last week on pole junkies that there is a 'side spring' too..! not sure what it looks like though as i havent seen one myself. Thanks for watchin!

  • this is fantastic , can't wait to try this one!

  • thanks, good luck!!

  • thank you for this, great vid. Can i ask you if you are left handed?, i have been trying this for a while with my left hand on the top and the right on the bottom (i am right handed) which hand should be on top lead or weak?.

    thanks again

  • If your right hand is your stronger, then it should be on the top for the first mount, if thats the one youre trying to do. The second mount in the vid is opposite.. Watch it again. good luck.

  • kool, glad its helpful!!

  • I didn't know you had done some tutorials. Their both very good. Nicely done!!

  • yeah i had a couple requests for these two moves.. so much easier to teach in person though..!

  • It is a hard move, and scary. But once you get it down it comes easier..!!

  • your welcome.. hope it helps..!

  • so I guess I have been doing the cartwheel mount all along...now I will give the other one a try! Thanks for the vid, I always enjoy them!

    PS - Loved the shirt!

  • glad you enjoyed the vid. and the shirt, lol!

  • really helpful, my heart says "yaaay let's do it" but my head says "no i like my face"

  • your plenty strong enough to do it!! I know you can!!!

  • great, thanks!!

  • cool I bet that's going to make a world of a difference

  • it should. Be sure to post a vid of the success i know you will have! =D

  • The Handspring is the next challenge for me and this was awesomely helpful!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING IT PUBLIC!

  • glad it hit the spot!! thanks for watching!

  • so helpful, I have had my top arm too high and didn't know it. Can't wait to try again in the correct position...thanks for posting this video.

  • No prob, glad it was helpful. Once you get stronger with this move, you can raise your grip.

  • WOW !! Thank you very much ...do you imagine or realize how you help many of us ?

    Thanks you again !!! :) :0 ;) xxx

  • Thanks gege, im glad i could help!

  • wow thats a fab tutorial as this one is something i am really struggling with u have seriously got that move down to a T that was amazing well done xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • great telford, i hope it helps.

  • LOL LOVE THE CAT!!!! THAT WAS SO FUNNY!

    but besides that....!

this is such a great video... you are so good at explaining all the extra details, you should start a website with a entire collection of videos and charge

    xoxo

p.s- hair is still bad ass!

  • my cat is insane...!! all you see is an orange blur fly past. Glad you enjoyed the vid. I think id much rather teach in person though... talking to a video camera when im alone in my room seems a lil weird to me. lol thanks!!

  • Thankyou for posting this. I've been looking for a bit more instruction on this one and this was exactly what I was hoping for. I'll be working on it this weekend!

  • yay! glad i could help. be sure to post your success!!

  • That was like a professionally produced vid--better actually. I remember that one of the first videos I ever saw on You-Tube was when you were trying a handspring--on a stage, I think. You had a spotter and he looked real nervous! Then you got it and did this "jump" for joy and ran right off the stage! It was really somthing... Anyway, great video--You-Tube will have to appoint you the professor of pole! Hope you enjoyed your 4th and that your summer is going well.

  • haha, i dont know about professional, but it was one of my better tutorial vids. My 'spotter' was my hubby, and the jump for joy was because i had been struggling with the handspring for almost a year!! Thanks and i hope your 4th was a blast...!

  • That was so helpful! Thanks for posting!

  • Glad it was helpful..

  • Cool vid Karol!

  • thanks loulou!!

  • Great explanations! Maybe now I can go home and try them... and maybe get one!! I've got all weekend to practice (yay!).

    Lovin' the hair still!

BTW... your body wave is FANTASTIC... could you do a tutorial on that move? I'm finding it veeeery hard on my lower hand.

Rock on, pole sista! ; )

  • kool! I hope you get it!! I just finished a bodywave tutorial. Ill send it to ya but it should come up in your subscriptions too. Thanks for watching!!

  • Your a great teacher! Very clear and specific instruction.

  • thanks!

  • that's great, both your explanation and your handspring...so so strong

  • Thanks suzie!
