I was a proud attendee of the BlogHer 09 event. you bearded little shits make me wonder about the state of America at the moment. do you really expect me to believe that honest, genuine corperations such as Pepsico would go as far as to lie to its loyal customers? my children are all raised with ultimate care - bacon, butter and cheese daily, thank you very much. however, i over heared you mentioning 'cornholes' at your stand... is that some kind of new snack? I gotta get me some of that stuff
Nice video. I really enjoyed watching it. I am running a marketing campaign to start a large auto detailing chain corporation. I would really like your assistance in building this enterprise. Let me know what you think by checking out my channel. Thanks
It was indeed a vague and misdirected rant, not intended to target an entire blogoshpere. My perspective of the conference was limited, and I was only speaking on what I saw. Since the post, I have spoken with some truly intelligent and wonderful mommybloggers and Blogher women. Keep up the good work!
Dude, I totally remember you and your bad, creepy attitude. I walked away from your little table without taking anything because you were giving off so much negative energy.
Do you know what grown ups do when they're working for a company they disagree with? They quit. Next time vote with your feet. Maybe then you'll be qualified to pontificate on integrity.
Also, stop being condescending to women. It's ugly and makes us mad.
I didn't attend Blogher but one of the overarching feelings I was left with was how much trash did it produce? When I see Queen size beds full of "swag" how much of it just got tossed away. Kind of sad to me. I'll refrain from my opinions on the corporations that were involved, but most of them I don't support.
While I understand that you are trying to make a statement, but talk about painting with a broad brush? Some of us passed completely on Pepsico's products (and all the other snack type products), for the nutrition reasons. Some of us passed because the products are packaged in disposable plastic, and we don't support disposable plastic. Some of us are trying to make change - did you attend the green blogging panel? And, BTW, Sheraton does back end recycling.
I would also like to add (because I ran out of room)...
Just because PepsiCo was there doesn't mean we ALL took the free samples or give it to our kids. I did like the popcorn but I walked past the "diet juice" and other crap looking for water. Was that you I asked if you had any healthy snacks and you pointed to the baked cheetos? What I did snack on were the delicious Zespri gold kiwifruit and McDonald's apple dippers.
Some advice for you... next time don't take a job you disagree with.
I agree with some of your points and I disagree with others. Corporate sponsors like PepsiCo made it possible for all of us to be there. I'd love to see no corporate sponsors but they're the ones desperate to be in front of us and they're the ones with money. Without them, our tickets would cost a few thousand dollars and there would be 5 attendees.
So, obviously, if we're sellouts and "bought" for being there while PepsiCo sponsored... then you were also purchased. Because you stood there. You handed it out. And you participated, right? Participating makes us "sellouts" and "purchased".
And, I'm sure that you're going to quit Pepsico because you obviously feel strongly about how "wrong" it all is. Right?
Can anyone confirm whether the recycling was recycled or not?
I actually go thru and read the list of ingredients before giving to my kids -so don't paint us all with one large brush. None of us are perfect, but a lot of us are trying to do a better job of what we feed our kids (and ourselves). I was completely psyched about the kiwi fruit booth on site. Interesting video, glad you posted it to give a different perspective on the expo. Please take up blogging, you can make social change.
Hi Super Jjn. I'm Bonin Bough, Director, Digital Communications, PepsiCo.
Thank you for your comments.
I can assure you that PepsiCo worked in cooperation with Sheraton Hotel to ensure that proper recycling procedures were in place throughout both days of the BlogHer. PepsiCo contractors met with Sheraton recycling and garbage personnel at 2-hr intervals to dispose of recyclable and terracyclable materials accordingly. If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to contact me directly.

I'm not sure the exact point of your rant: eat healthy? Don't accept sponsorship money?
I'm a BlogHer. I don't drink soda and I didn't have any Frito-Lay chips. I ate as healthily as I wanted to at the conference.

I vote with my blog. I take money with my hands. Thank you for not taking anything from my negative, creepy attitude. You're almost there...

Good luck ever getting hired to do another event. But seriously, what the hell are you even trying to say?

Those 12 hours a day with Pepsi sure seem like they paid for a lot of weed.

I've never seen anyone take so much time and use so many words to say absolutely nothing.
Please don't ever blog.

I got about a minute and a half in and that's all I need to see.
This doesn't even deserve a response, but I hope you also post the video of yourself handing your paycheck back to this past weekend's employer.

I know you're trying to stick it to The Man, but in the process, you're seriously talking down to The Woman.
