The reason I fret a note just behind the fret itself is that you get the best 'tone' to your notes AND you need to use less force than if you fret half way between the frets.
That's why I talk through the video in great detail - and explain what notes I'm playing and where I'm playing them.

GREAT but on all your videos you seem to press the string down on the fret instead of between the frets.
Any reason why you do that?
It makes it a little hard to see what you are playing.

I never knew there was a difference in tone. I will have to experiment with it.
