  • Dude you are SOO close to having perfect form. It looks awesome. The only thing you're missing is the hip twist, which will add a significant amount of distance without loosing any control. You're hips are *this* close to flying open the way you want it to, but then it stops. When you aren't twisting your hips you're loosing all the power that you've generated from your legs, and it makes your throw upper body only. You're strongest muscles are in your legs, use them.

  • @mercilpb Thanks for the input. I'll try to incorporate my hips more:)

  • idk if anyone reading this plays baseball, but that is the same mechanics of an uppercut power swing right ther. !!!!

  • Lol @ the rave comment,

"Yeah i have anger issues and like to chuck high speed frisbees into crowds of ravers."

  • blue latitude 64 gold line disc :D

  • are you at a rave or something?

  • @Evenhurst No this is how CFL lights flicker when filmed highspeed

  • you got some serious arm speed man if i tried throwin that hard my shoulder would probably come out of socket

  • There can some control issues that can arise when my momentum spins me forward. You also might try and hop a bit higher on the X step. I find that the extra push that gravity gives me, can be useful in generating some more power. I'll have to post a video as well, as I have had some disc golfers ask me to. Thanks for posting it. This is a great teaching tool, and one of the ways in which the sport will grow is by getting the info out there on how best to play the play.

  • @ApogeeCloud Thanks for the tip

  • Here are a couple thoughts I have, some of which have been commented on already. I think you might be lunging a touch too far and deep. My concern is that it stops some of you body's momentum. My furthest throws always seem to have me falling more forward with my follow through.

  • yeah right, there are only 1 or 2 top pros that can throw 500 forehand n they have put in a lot more than 15 months

  • @djfinesse1 : I've been throwing things since Iwas very young and have a great foundation for discgolf. Better golfers have told me they want to put a shotgun to my head when they see me thumbing over all the trees.

Since I've been playing european handball for 12 years I have been practicing my forehand drive without knowing it.. I use the exact same form as in an underarm shot and I believe this is the reason I drive further than most.

And yes, a lot of people are jealous:)

  • Nice! I've been hoping someone would do this for awhile -- I would totally have been all over this when I first started if I'd seen it then.

I bet some of the PDGA pros would let you film them if there are any events in Norway. Throw in some reference points (like a black/white striped bar for height and length) and you have a scientific training tool for us disc golfers -- I'll buy the first DVD!

  • backhand for life.

  • I think if you will follow through, like the turnaround forehand, you would be THE MAN!!!

  • IMO too much arm not enough snap, hence the wobble when released. Sweet camera.

  • Ty for the input., I usually got snap though. This was mostly a camera test I wanted to share with friends. Yes I use a lot of arm and not many players are able to do so without injuries. I believe we'll see more people adapting a form more like this as discgolf develops. At least I've never seen anyone throw further with less arm. :)

  • yea i get about 400+ that way

  • @stalematedizzy I throw very similarly to this, but I don't drop down nearly as far when I drive forehand. I'd say my max d is 325+ ranging from less to more if I really put my arm into it. I've noticed though if I try and get much more than 325' off the tee my accuracy drops significantly usually due to reliance on arm speed rather than form. That's truly incredible if you can hit 500' *thumbs*

  • Nice form. I need to work on mine. How do you throw that hard without killing your arm?

  • A lot of warming up before throwing. I also went trough several injuries before I found the proper form.

  • How far can you throw?

  • @judgejoemama: On average about 400 feet, but have gone as far as 500 with this throw.

  • i dont think you are throwing as far as 500 feet with that throw.

  • well no one is forcing you to believe anything.

  • he throws hard as well, the bastard :P

  • Awesome camera. You seem to put alot of forward momentum with your body with that hop. Most people I see sort of 'step' up. Are you throwing at a wall btw?

  • @minichado I'm throwing at an arrow catch net 18m away
