I avoid meet ups with other teachers these days. All they ever want to talk about is teaching and complaining about living in South Korea.

I always tell them that if they hate it so much they should go back home.

I was only in South Korea briefly, for a two week coastal and harbor tour in 1989.  That was the year I made Commander, and we had the "wetting down" party at a bulgogi restaurant in Busan (Pusan). Two others got promoted at the same time, so we split it 20-40-40 (as seemed fair at the time). My share of dinner for 25 came to $300. There was some Soju consumed, but as you might imagine, we don't remember how much.

Perhaps I've said too much already.

Last time we took our car to NYC one of those plates covering a hole in the street shifted and our right front wheel feel in. You are brave to take a car to the city.
