  • جمعية الفرقة النحاسية

  • I'll take my trombone and leave, I can see I'm not wanted here.

  • That was great!

  • best ever. period. so effortlessly played, and yet with such and enthusiasm that just makes the whole piece work so well!

  • Maurice ANDRE un phénomène de la trompette .

  • es pura excelencia a la hora de tocar

  • the way he plays sounds so easy and it's already al pleasure to watch him play. he believes in his music.

  • The end is merely moving, how can he play like this ? His sound is incredible

  • André Maurice tudja csak így előadni Haydn-t !

  • MAGNÍFICO

  • Tough the trumpet sounds quite weird , his a genious man!

  • When I was i child my mother took me to a lokal wedding in a small church nearby her i Vaerloese near Copenhagen. And guess who played. Maurice André! I will never forget. Carsten Konow, Denmark

  • il grande re della tromba

    :')

  • What 5 dumbfucks clicked dislike?????

  • One thing that sets Maurice Andre apart from other trumpet players, including Marsalis is his effortless renditions of very difficult music. He manages to make even Carnival of Venice sound almost leisurely and unhurried, with no strain whatsoever. He's, so far, the best of them all.

  • He's excellent but I prefer Alison!

  • @u4ism100 it's not fair, she too pretty :-)

  • @1karaden ...she is too pretty I mean.

  • 5:28.... Wow!! that's not normal, Magnificent!!

  • 6 minutes of playing a reasonably difficult piece with a hugely exposed part, and there's not even the slightest hint of a frack anywhere. This guy rocks

  • Back in 1984, I had the most wonderful opportunity in my musical career to have conducted the Boca Raton Symphony with Maurice Andre performing the Hummel Concerto and the Albinoni D minor Concerto in two concerts. He is without exception, one of the finest classical musicians of all time. His musicality of phrasing, lyricism and effortless singing lines are simply unparalleled. His use of alternate fingerings to create flawless intonation is astonishing. May God bless this incredible musician!

  • Wow that is amazing, I'm playing this at 16 years of age and I wish I could play it this amazing! Wow

  • absolutely wonderful cadenza!

  • wow when i played this, my cadenza was not even close to how he played it... epically beautiful xD

  • i have been playing this concerto for weeks now it sounds fine... maurice andré, this concerto was written for you ! your cadenza is UNBELIEVABLE !

  • The sound is not "fat" and a bit "tinny" because this is a Eb trumpet !!! Marsalis plays a Bb trumpet! Do you know the difference? Maurice Andrè is the best classical trumpet player of all time!! Marsalis has stopped 20 years ago to play classic, Marsalis can not go into the hall of fame of classical trumpeters of all time, even though it was very good with piccolo trumpet in the 80's. But then he stopped. Maurice Andre has spent a lifetime playing classic. Maurice André the best, forever :)

  • @giannibert Wynton played an Eb..

  • cudowne!

  • I love the way he looks like he has just come down for breakfast, found an orchestra in his garden and picked his trumpet up to play. The right balance of effortlessness and indulgence

  • @zlotythepoet omgg your comment made me laugh so much, best phrase of the day xD :L

  • @zlotythepoet omgg your comment made me laugh so much, best phrase of the day xD :L

  • @SmartieRockz lol.u say it twice.

  • Good articulation and nice phrasing, but his sound is a little to bright for me.

  • girls must pay him to go down on them...

  • Wow, I like it!

  • the conductor looks like hitler.he is the god. So smooth. He controls everything by his way of breathing.

  • As to the sound - it is more Andre's style (French) as compared to Marsalis. Andres uses a lot of vibrato where WM does not. Both are outstanding musicians. BTW, Andre started playing trumpet at age 18! I do prefer Marsalis' style.

  • Awesome !

  • i wish i could see on my front lawn

  • Usually in classical music debate rages about those gone before, who was the greatest etc, how would the current crop compare, eg the legend of Paganini with the violin, virtuosi we never heard that unfortunately passed before recording was available. I think in Maurice Andre we are blessed to have had the greatest trumpet player so far, in our time. The man is peerless on this instrument. And he gets my vote as being maybe one of the top ten instrumentalists of all time.

  • @kramnivas - I would have to agree. One of the true greats of all time!

  • Poindexter is playin violin....lol

  • a mio parere il miglior trombettista del pianeta!

  • CONGRATULATIONS MEGAN. JPWARZINSKI CHANNEL AND THE NORA SHOW

  • It sounds like he's shaking the whole time, like more than the usual vibrato sound....is this supposed to be on purpose?

  • 5:03 to skip to an absolutely wonderful cadenza.

  • I'm sorry, I don't get it. At all ha

  • I've always wanted to go to a classical music concert.

  • love his ending

  • As much as I like Tine Thing Helseth and Alison Balsom, I've never heard Maurice Andre surpassed on this piece. What big, round tones he produces and the brilliance of the sound is wonderful. No comment necessary about his embouchure. I'm genuinely sorry he's gone now.

  • He's a g on that trumpet.

  • Wonderful !!

  • oh got i love his sound !

i would probably give anything for his sound

  • Tone is airy!

  • @atube4view That could be partly due to the recording hardware used or the quality of the recording. Also, He sounds amazing, I'll put up with a slight air in his sound if that's the case.

  • @malestrom92 the sound also seems a little tinny and not fat like marsalis's

    maybe it's the outdoor recording..

  • I like this conductor better than Herbert von Karajan....at least he looks like he's awake and doing something.

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 WHAT ?

  • THE MASTER!!

  • アンドレ、ブラボー。こういう街並みの中でコンサートが行われるっていうことも日本人からしたらものすごくうらやましい。

  • @chippinuts Sure!

  • i do not like the moves of the conductor

  • Awesome!!!

  • como se titula esta obra?

  • @ktmtaf

é o 1o movimento do concerto de Haydn para trompete em Eb

  • Viva Andre!

  • Fabulous!

  • theres always one that dislikes >:( damn gingers.

  • este cara nasceu para ser leder

  • where is it ?Thanks a lot

But is a very great video .

Ah and I have a last question how old is maurice andre now.

He looks realy fat. But he is the best trumpet player with Aturo Sandoval.

  • I attended a live performance of his in Bamberg Germany about 7 years ago. He received four standing ovations and played 3 encores. His son and daughter also performed on the same concert. So much for your "he doesn't perform in front of live audiences" theory. He is the master ... the maestro! So shut your pie hole, open your ears, and listen to the greatest of all players.

  • this is like the mega source of trumpet playing O.o

  • Esto es oir musica de la buena y no lo que hace muxa gente ahora

  • Maurice André is the nr 1 trumpeter of all time ! You must agree ?

I played trumpet in my younger years, and I can tell that I maybe had 1 percent

    of his skills.

  • E' Dio che suona la tromba !

  • And why is this ' great ' player not able to perform in front of a live audience, like the other great ones?

  • @Nabokov50 What are you talking about? There are even videos on Youtube of him performing in front of a live audience...

  • @Nabokov50 You sir, are truely an idiot. Now shut up and watch the video of one of the best players ever.

  • Playing a Selmer Radial Eb !

  • Playing a Selmer Radial Eb ?

  • very very very very very nice

  • The best of the best!

  • capoooo!!!!!!!

  • I give credit due where it's due......Maurice Andre is a sensational player,

but does anyone else think he could have done more with the dynamics??

  • @KillerTpt In softness, slightly, yes... But I'm not sure it would've been TOO necessary; anyone listening would be able to determine that he's a great musician otherwise. He could've, though

  • Maurice André a trombita nagymestere.

Ez a versenymű a zeneirodalom legszebb trombitaversenye!

  • @Fuckergen I listen to Winton and he is very good, I just prefer Andre's phrasing and style. I read that Andre was big influence on Winton. It is probably the fact that I first listened to Andre as a kid and now that has become "the right way", even though Winton plays it a little different it does not make it wrong. :)

  • @mtbevins I agree immensely. I personally think Wynton's sound is somewhat cold and sterile, it doesn't have the eccentricities in character of some of the other trumpet players that make it sound human. At least that's what I think, and of course it's all personal preference anyway. Have you listened to Alison Balsom? She's a perfect example of what I'm talking about. She was probably highly influenced by the master though....Andre. I mean, he is often considered THE virtuosic trumpet player.

  • @kotetsu131 Oh and you are right about Wynton's influence too...in fact EVERYONE that plays picc well today was influenced by Andre. Wynton played a Bach back in the day...

  • The cadenza was performed within his range. Not bad. But not great.

  • For an outdoor performance it sounds fantastic.

  • A true maestro!

  • If anyone is interested, I have uploaded Movements 2 and 3, from a Deutsche Grammophon LP in my collection:

    2: watch?v=_sKIu4931Dw

    3: watch?v=XsiDTIXb0t4

    regards to all, david

  • Maurice Andre is great! He looks like a jovial chef on a cooking show.

  • I just want to hug this chubby Frenchman, he has made my night with his fantastic playing.

  • i have to play this for an audition. it's insane how hard this can be yet he makes it look easy.

  • mee encanta la musica clasicaa!!

  • at 5:30 that is probably the fastest triple tounging ive ever heard

  • what fantastic playing!

  • from memory....

  • @codawsome i'm betting he's played this a bunch. it sinks in.

  • @codawsome I mean, the trumpet part is very hard to memorize.

  • Strong tempo, still suave!

  • MACANUDISIMO, GRANDE MAURICE

  • something sounds choked. I don't dare insinuate it was Andre. Maybe it was the quality of the recording.

  • who the hell is the doofus who clicked dislike?!

  • What is that musical technique called at 2:29?

  • What part are you talking about? Maurice or the orchestra? He's just doing a trill...

  • Incredible, I haven't listened to much of Andre's stuff, but I definitely will. He sets the standard even for top of the line professional musicians

  • Stomvi or Selmer Trumpet?

  • @ferroapala Selmer Radial

  • 5:05-end. there. are. no. words.

  • Hi, Trompetje, do you have the other two movements from this recording?

  • @alsuz No this is all I've got.........

  • the best player in the world

  • @slashdamasta jajajajajajajajajajajajajaja

  • todo un heroe!!!!

  • I've always been wondering if virtuoso players produce vibrato by using their lips or shaking the trumpets, it seems that he shakes the trumpet just very slightly, anyone else have any idea?

  • @sepheroth56

It appears in this video he's producing vibrato by lighting shaking his trumpet back and forth.

  • @sepheroth56 There are basically 3 ways. Rocking fingers gently over the valve covers is one; the extreme case of this would be pinching the horn and "shaking" which would be more of a jazz thing. The other 2 are "lip vibrato," which is sometimes referred to as "natural vibrato, and the least common: "breath emphasis" (oscillating with the diaphragm). In this case, he is using lip-vibrato, and occasionally augmenting it on sustained notes with the right hand.

  • 5:30 :)

  • amazing double tounging in the end

  • What is the year? The master looks so healthy!

  • @saulocpp Between 1974 and 1980. Wow.

  • I played for only 1hour on a piccolo trumpet and then my lips just went off, but this man, my idol, used to play so much more and it would still sound fantastic after a few hours.

  • i used to be able to this when was 16 but I used to practice back then.lol

  • Thanks a lot for this first part of the this beautiful concerto. Have you got all this concerto ? Where did you find it ?

Very difficult to play outside but it's Maurice André. I'm a big fan forever.

  • Marvelous!!!

    I love Maurice Andre!

    Thank you for uploading.

  • Magnificent performance. Bravo Maurice!!!! Just one question, what type of Eb trumpet is he using???

  • Just look at the valve pads - unmistakeably a Selmer. However, he is already using the StomV mouthpiece system.

  • Selmer

  • why the Master play this E flat trumpet's key C with 2-3 rather than 0?

  • Frequently, C open is sharp, and 2-3 lowers the pitch.

  • ya i think so, that's why when he played fast notes, he used 0 but when come to a slow C, he played with 2-3.
