in the very first moment these words really sound heavy. But in fact it's the truth! And that's one reason why I've turned away from the church in the late 1990's. I did no longer agree to the rules gives by men of the church. For what reason? They even don't follow their own gooddamned rules! I am what I am, and that's all what I am. And believe me... I'm proud of it! I enjoy my life as good as I can. And I need nobody to tell me how to do it better. ;-)
Wow...pretty heavy...and right at Christmas time, too! My parents are fanatical Christians and are pretty disappointed that I'm not living my life like they live there's. They're the poster people for faith. Faith in a belief that so overwhelmingly consumes one's life that everything they do, are, will be, revolves around it. Faith in God. Faith in heaven. Faith in an old book (the Bible) that was written by men... not God himself. I DO know this: There's life after death. I've seen a ghost...
@Charredbriar Yes, you have seen something, and you assume. I never said there is no life after death, I said there is no proof. I also have seen stuff I can not explain. But I will not build a house on such a loose foundation, because I have no clue what it really was. And most important of all, I will not tell other people what to believe because I had an epiphany. Lets openly talk about theses things and exchange what we believe, thats cool. But let's not make false promises.
Beautifully and scaring thought provoking, as you always are. We are not strong, not smart, not proud and unfortunately still not aware about this.I have my hands and my brain, i can act and react, you are right. How about your life?Who is more satisfied between your "You", your "Self" and your "I"?I think that also getting up in the morning is a matter of faith, not coming from a church or a government. You say "get up and walk", i say take a moment to sit. And look. Thanks for opening your heart
@giacomomora There is a time for sitting and there is a time for walking. I was sitting long enough. It's time for me to walk. But I agree, inner silence is very important to actually see things how they are.
(cont) I am the only important one. I can not prove you even exist. Why should I have concern for you? Why even worry about the question? To maintain contact and feel a part of the community, the country, the world or the race of human. We can change government, we can even change God. The Romans, the Egyptians, both had gods and rulers. Did they not last centuries longer than our modern societies? An interesting video thanks for the thoughts and questions. gregg
@truckpipe Well, I hardly doubt you will run around with a chainsaw and cut people into peices. Because you can think for yourself. And because you can understand the concept of socializing and its benefits. Also because you know what love is. People that are going crazy and shoot each other... look at their past. They have been controlled, abused and destroyed. I think we, the average people, could do much better if we would not be so lazy and so timid.
Interesting, but if philosophy/history/Psychology shoes that humans must have something to join, to be a part of, to feel a part of. If not why bother having any society at all, and if we have a society then we must cooperate whether it is by a standard of conduct or by rule of law. If no law, why not kill all other humans and take what they have? There is no god, there is no need for government, no need for cooperation. Each person is an island unto himself. I think therefore I live, only me.
I'm beginning to think invisibility must be key to godly superpower, since they all have it. Careful though, some of them will love you so much they no problem torturing you eternally if you don't bow/listen. One actually killed his son for us - and you know, nothing says love like murdering children. So many of us fathers show our love that way even today. Now just pretend to drink his blood and try not to think about it too much. Merry Christmas, Alex.
Oo, philosophising (is that a word?). Here's what I say. There is a god and a holy spirit. He/It has many faces and is right here, is us and in every cell. We think we can't see "him," but we see him every day, everywhere. We think he'll save us, but he IS us, so the freedom is each of us. He exists, but it's our choice to see him, not a building or religion. I could go on and on, it's too much fun. Fidele

I used to have discussions like this with my father ( usually after a few beers )
He used to say " son, pick a focus point and believe in that. Be it God, the sun, Trees......
If you have no focus point you will drive yourself nuts with unanswerable questions"
By the way.... I am nuts....

@MartyWeller I havent met a sane person in my life. You sure are nuts, but you haven't lost all your marbels like some other people.^^
