I think Tom Welling is the best guy for the upcoming movie. He played Clark Kent / Superman for like 10 years. He looks better in the suit than Brandon, and I think Tom is a better actor. But I don't understaind why they took another actor for the job in the first place. Why would you change the actor?

the reason the chose not to use Tom is because he looked to much like christipher reeves superman and Nolan ,Snyder,and Warner Brothers all said that they were getting far away from the Donner films. Donner's film was alright for the late seventies and before they had all the special effects tech they have today but its time for a real Superman movie.I still think Tom Welling looks more like the comics version of Superman in the face at least but I'm willing to give Cavill a chance.

I love Smallville but I personally wouldn't make Tom Welling the next Superman. Im a fan of Smallville and think Welling does a great job on the show, but he just isnt a big screen calibre actor, at least not yet. I personally think Routh was a pretty faggy Superman. In the new movie I believe they are making the right choice giving Cavil a shot at it. it seems to me they are casting some big league actors for the reboot, so hopefully they come through with a good script this time, Returns was terribole.

I'm pretty sure that had a different story, and the same goes for Iron man (vietnam vs afganistan) watchmen (tin yurl.c o m/5 vh8exy) and many others, including harry potter, the twilight series and james bond. Just face it, film makers make changes when converting to the big screen and if a show is on for 10 seasons, it must be fairly popular. I mean, futurama only did 4 seasons.

the reason the chose not to use Tom is because he looked to much like christipher reeves superman and Nolan ,Snyder,and Warner Brothers all said that they were getting far away from the Donner films. Donner's film was alright for the late seventies and before they had all the special effects tech they have today but its time for a real Superman movie.I still think Tom Welling looks more like the comics version of Superman in the face at least but I'm willing to give Cavill a chance.

I love Smallville but I personally wouldn't make Tom Welling the next Superman. Not that I don't think he is good, but I think it would cause a conflict, as it would be seen as a Smallville Movie and not Superman. Brandon is a good actor, its just that in my opinion the latest Superman film was not as good as the hype. However, I still miss Smallville.

Im a fan of Smallville and think Welling does a great job on the show, but he just isnt a big screen calibre actor, at least not yet. I personally think Routh was a pretty faggy Superman. In the new movie I believe they are making the right choice giving Cavil a shot at it. it seems to me they are casting some big league actors for the reboot, so hopefully they come through with a good script this time, Returns was terribole.

Tom Welling was handing the torch from Christopher Reeve R.I.P. That's the last thing he was doing was playing the part of Virgil Swan before he passed. He acknowledged Tom Welling as Clark Kent so he should be the Superman of this time. Nothing against Brandon or the other guy but Tom Welling and the Smallville cast all did an awesome job and should be in the Movie. That's my opinion have a good one... PEACE!!

I am a massive Superman fan I own all five films all 4 seasons of Lois and Clark and nine seasons of Smallville and I have no idea how many comics I have and I love them all and I would rather see Welling as the Man of Steel... but will give Cavill the benefit of seeing the film b4 slating him I've been waiting for a new Superman film for years and just for the record Reeves, Kidder, and Terence Stamp have all starred in Smallville 1 thing that makes it awesome

@batmanstrikes I'm not really a comic-book fan, but nolan rebooted the batman series with batman begins. I'm pretty sure that had a different story, and the same goes for Iron man (vietnam vs afganistan) watchmen (tin yurl.c o m/5 vh8exy) and many others, including harry potter, the twilight series and james bond. Just face it, film makers make changes when converting to the big screen and if a show is on for 10 seasons, it must be fairly popular. I mean, futurama only did 4 seasons.
