I'm impressed, that's just amazing. This piece somehow reminds me of Smetana's Moldau. I like the way the different tone colors of the Enlglish Horn are used, and also like the way how the different textures unfold as the music unfolds in time. A brilliant piece. Congrats!

In college my teacher was adament that we students be able to listen to a piece and pick out the instruments. I love to imagine the orchestra playing this. It's...fullfilling!

@Owlduke I agree. I'm an oboist myself &-as much as I love the sound the oboe makes-I find the deeper & more resonant tone of the Cor Anglais so much more appealing!

This is one of those great works that you come upon in life that changes your life. I was part of the orchestra that recorded it. The second and third movements are also on the same level.
