I can do about 3/4 the damage the shockadin can do now, but I can quite understand what gear hes using. That looks like the shield Nightbane drops, and tell me if I'm wrong, but is he wearing tier 5 pieces? If thats the case, when i get them, Ill prob surpass the pally in this. And quick question, are BEs better at Ret ing than the alliance? If not reply to this text
YOu focus only in the spell damage and healing parts of the Holy Tree (due to cause healing adds some spell damage as well, I think) and you focus on the Judgement reduction part of the Ret Tree, and put enough in to get Sanctity Aura with the 21st point. The point of Shockadins is the spell damage you can deal to enemies, so you wont want to focus on the melee talents in the Ret tree. Whats important to my understanding of a true Shockadin is the Sanctity Aura. Comment on me if I missed somthin
He might be showing crits yes, but I have a holy pally lvl 70, and this guy here does 1200 more damage than I do with my damage holy shock and JoR, even with JoC on the target, its not the crits that impressed me, but the damage he was throwing by itself. And raid groups dont look for ret pallies sadly, sorry. Tell them about it and theyll agree.

But hey I salute ya if your allie or horde, And watching you fight these guys with damage I can never do, I feel comfortable being a pally now, just working on the gear. Just a question though, what gear were you using?
Though I have to say, yeah, Shockadins are really powerful, and even if the vid maker did do alot of ganking of people that didn't seem to notice him, he still does stupid crazy damage, and when you consider that critting doesn't up the damage of their judgements and holy shock as much as they do a melee attack, I have to say that he'd still be doing sick damage with non crits.
I dunno, I almost feel like making one now, since a gear swap is all you'd need to be able to main heal anything.
If you're stupid enough to let one stay close to you, yeah sure, you deserve to die, but as it is Paladins are the easiest class in the game to kite to death, after a blessing of freedom one wing clip and its over, because a paladin will never catch back up to the hunter after that.
Totally protected for 12 sec, the when it's gone you just stun your opponent for 6 sec...that gives you 18 sec to kill the hunter, after that it's harder but still possible.
How does that make the paladin catch up? It just makes them immune to snares. And if a paladin is stupid enough to pop it to remove snares then I'd just laugh at them. It doesn't make them move any faster to catch up, they're still just as far back as they ever were.
Didn't you read the first things you wrote? The situation was that the pala and hunter was already in "malee combat", no need to catch up then. I just wrote how you could prevent the hunter from putting snares and run away from you. And shockadins might have +15% speed talent, makes them a little bit faster but it only makes differens in rare cases.
You honestly think you're going to be killing someone with a half attack speed ? I've never once, ever, in my entire WoW caree, EVER been killed by a paladin. It doesn't happen, they can't catch up after the easiest of evades since they have no snares or anything, if its ret, its an even easier fight than Holy shock since they have pitiful mana pools.

First, I didn't say that you would kill you enemy just because you did those things.
Second, Who cares about half attack speed when you do your main damage through instant cast.
Third, I'm retri atm and I have killed lots of hunters, but they win about 60-70% of the times when there is 1 on 1 situations.
Maybe I need to say that I don't mean that pallys kick hunters in a fight.
And that you've never been killed by a pala is just a big fat lie.
