  • There are 2 copper chlorides.

Copper I chloride (cuprous chloride) is insoluble in water.

Copper II chloride (cupric chloride) is very soluble in water.

  • does copper chloride dissolve in water?

  • Beauty colour

  • coool it works

  • beautiful colour

  • Thanks!

  • It is kind of green at the beginning, could it be Cu(II) burning in the beginning? At the en though it is definitely Cu(I) because of its blue color.

  • @qrais It's in burning ethanol, which produces a blue flame.

  • if you added boron and baking soda it might blow up

  • Anybody know if this would work with fire poi?

  • @SuperJohnny246 Yes it would.

  • for fire poi or fire staff use CuCl2 with petrol ^^

  • where can i get methanol?

  • borax works to

  • CuCl2 burns green. But CuCl burns blue. It is a different oxidation state. Making small amounts of CuCl can be found on the net.

  • should have mixed it with alcohol so it would burn longer

  • wow pretty!

  • wondering if it works with CuCl2 ?
