WOW! 7:25-8:05.
I was impressed when I heard his version after Mr Hoyle's. There is indeed a lot more in his version.
BUT to hear the three of them match step immediately after hearing the corrections and building that wild crescendo is indeed a treat.
If I were Tortelier, I would count that as one of the great rare privileges of his life as a composer and instructor.

wow. I have incomprehensible babbleings of joy running through my head after hearing this man teach what he loves.
I've never picked up a cello in my life, I think I may take a ride to the local luthier shop tomorrow and see what they have.
Thank you so much for posting this.

i absolutely LOVE the beginning the "assault" of the horse the piano part, it's just so intreiging. I LOVE it.
He's such an amazing cellist! thanks very much for uploading.
btw, does anyone know where I can find his other masterclass on BBC in 1974?

I wonder the month, because Jacqueline du Pre died this same year and Tortelier sounds a bit sad when he talks about Her in the earlier videos. Does anyone know?

Well Jacqueline died on the 19th of October, so this likely would have been before she died
