Who can score from the blue line and shutdown the other teams offense. This shows how little YOU know about hockey...

@niccowley13 One game doesn't make a career. He doesn't produce much Offensively, he isn't that phyicall and he is average on defense. He is an average Defenseman. There is no way that he is one of the best or even one of the better defenseman in the league. He has been in the league for a while and has only slightly improved. I know Defenseman take a while to develop. But I think Daley is as close to a good as he will ever get.

He not only has a great mentor in Robidas but a great leader. He has learned a lot and is one of the more sought after young defensemen in the league. He is a testement to the teams "small but mighty" name. He may not be a Hatcher or a Sydor, or a Lindstrum but you know what. He's pretty dam good. His stats may be not Crosby-ish, but he is a great def-men.

@niccowley13 I don't fault him for not being a Hatcher, Zubov or Lindstrum. Few players can be. He is a fast skater and needs to learn proper postioning more. I did expect him to be more of an offensive threat, but maybe he will get better offensively.

I just think that was too long of a contract and the NTC was stupid. Time will tell. If he gets better or stays the same and the Stars don't need to make room for better players then it will be a good deal if not it could reallly hurt them.

If he doesn't improve much or they want to make room for another player, too bad they are stuck with him. A 6 year deal is way too long and I am against a NTC for almost any player. The league has alot of players of Daley skill level & I don't see him stepping up to the next level. he should have gotten a 2 or 3 year deal & no NTC
