so how do you make the "woop woop" effect? and what note is it? (yeah, i know it's probably in the comments, but they're so confusing i'm gonna ask one more time)
It's a top F (Concert Eb) he's playing. The "woop woop" effect isn't anything David is doing in addition to playing the top F, it's just how a top F sounds like on a Euphonium.
@robertgrobert Not sure I agree, the way he glissandos down afterwards implies he's "singing" through the instrument. If you try it yourself it sounds so similar that there would be no reason to bust your lip playing that 'note'. lol
@EmoEwok666 With the right technique, it is not ;) It really is all about technique, and practice is all you really need (and a bit of talent). Ofcourse, just a few can do this, but that is mainly a matter of technique and practice.
@EmoEwok666 its not that they were born with it, they just practiced and devoted to music. everyone has the potential to be just as good as david, they just need to practice
Every brass player needs to watch this video. Brilliant performance!! Fun piece, but incredibly difficult to play. David won the best soloist prize at the Brass In Concert competition with this fantastic performance against some very tough competition.
How can I obtain the departure?
Thanks!

This is absolutely fantastic! Very prolific player with an extremely solid 4+ octave range! From double pedal E-Flat to double high B-flat! Awesome!!

It can be sung. But he can also play the F like TheBrasssociety mentioned.
Under all circumstances. He's extremely good.
He's at a level I can only dream about.

The "woop woop" is done by attacking the F a bit lower than it should

@robertgrobert meaning the Eb one octave above the one above middle C? (I hope that made sense)
