Thanks for posting about our much visited Keddie and Williams Loops in our beautiful area. Quincy, CA, a very scenic, friendly town is located between the two, and is a good place to eat, shop, and bunk down for the night.
Wow!! Did that bring back memories. I was the first trick Canyon Dispatchers for many years. I retired in June of 2007, but still have mostly fond memories about the "
Canyon" I noticed that they were "broncoing" on the day that you took the videos and that Manager of Track Maintainence, Bob Dickenson was in "Bronco Delta" when they left Keddie. Very Nice!!
Back in about 80 I was visiting in Clio & walked up to this spot often , Never thought I would be able to see it again, thanks by the way which direction was the train headed e/w ?
@charliezz46 this is eastbound. from Oroville to Portola. I have another video up here UP 844 Steam Over Donner 4-17-09 where the 844 was westbound from Truckee to Roseville
Its the westbound that shows where I was at the time. I was on the west end of the trestle & never even thought about crossing it, even then lol. I was staying in Clio & all I had to do was hike up the mountain about half way .Beautiful country Thanks again.
Hope you stayed dry! 4449 went by my back yard (I live 100' from BNSF in WI) this AM and I didn't get my camera on time. Will set my alarm and try again tomorrow.
Very nice video, you went out of your way to chase that I can tell. I only got to see her parked in Roseville and depart it a week or so later, truly an amazing locomotive with amazing sound, makes you really appreciate steam locomotives a lot.
Just an awesome compilation of shots through the Feather River Canyon-- it is great seeing all the locations together like this in one vid!! Man, that "spike-driver" at Keddie really got after it, LoL-- that was GREAT! But my very favorite-- 844 coming out onto the Clio Trestle, those zoom shots-- that is fantastic!! Thanks for 'putting these together'-- REALLY nice!!
thanks for the hard work you put in to this ! nice how the steam hangs in the cool humid mountain air, we dont get that in Wyoming too often for the runs out here.
Nice camera work at 6:00 zoomin with the steamer on the trestle was choice stuff IMHO the local foamers Rule!
