  • good

  • this is so old. no professional players play like this .

  • What happened to the split drop?

  • This is just plain stupid. It takes more than 2 steps to get to either rear corner. 4 just to get there and hit with a clear shot and yet another step (5 in total!!!) to position oneself to smash. Footwork? Torture in single games.

  • Key point.

Notice were the racket is positioned - it doesn't change.

Never, ever drop your racket. Keep it up always.

  • there are two popular ways

either the left foot half step n' leap

or the right foot double shuffles

shuffles are easier, steady, saves energy, but slower

half step/leap is basically what LD does, inconsistent, consumes some stamina, but much faster

    there is no good/bad

    only a matter of style

  • how bout lookin a the posting date...but youre quite right, machine :D

  • The footwork here is incorrect. If you watch the top players they don't move like this. In this vid they miss out the initial split drop to begin with. I don't think this video is a very recent one so the footwork might be a little dated.

  • A few people on this thread have said the footwork demonstrated here is incorrect. Does anyone have a link or reference to a clear demonstration of correct footwork? Most match videos I have seen are too fast to clearly show the correct steps

  • Korean players are one of the top 5 in the world.. They are like Robot... everyone have the same footwork and style.. how could they be wrong..

  • hey hey...the footsteps are totally wrong okay....

how if u watch china or malaysia players play...their footsteps are the correct one..compare to these noob korean tutorial...damn u korean...loser!!!!

    china & malaysia the best...

  • erm think i'd trip over my legs moving like that in a game

  • ???? Your supposed to shuffle to the corner not step over...

  • so should follow this video footwork or not ??

  • personally, i think its all about what you think works for you. or style.. koreans have their own style.. and msians n china have their own.. i personally like taufiks foot work (indo) and peter gade(denmark) i gez it just works better for me.

  • hey because of this stupid lesson that i never learned in my entire life the footwork I didn't able to get as a varsity in our school could you tach me a better way of footwork by posting new videos please I beg you

  • quit playing badminton. You are not fit for it. Get a better sport like sleeping or eating or something

  • you are the one who deserve to quit because youre the one think of it. I'm doing my best to achieve my best unlike yours a chicken in playing badminton haha!!!!

  • Ahhh thank you so much for posting these.

I'm on the JV team at my school, and when it

    comes to my footwork...it's pathetic.

    Thanks for the help!

  • no problem, theres better videos for it just remember hes demoing it your not really going to be that stiff or static when doing it on the court ok. you have to be fluient and able to move.

  • That was so fuckin NOOB

  • lol its funny when both the left hander and right hander do it at the same time. but is it okay to do a skip like that when it goes to ur left(refering to a right handed player)

  • when your right handed and it goes to your left yes its ok to hit it like that basically your trying to get into position to play an around the head or a forehand shot. for hitting it when its on your right if your right handed better to shuffle than to step over.

  • uhh isn't the non-racket foot supposed to go behind the racket foot not infront

  • for which shot are yu refering to? cause thats more or less what you do the 1st set they do they just cross over instead of shuffling

  • lol no chasse step? my coach always focus on the "skipping" part of the footwork, but i gotta admit, with a chasse step is is faster to move back to the center

  • lol those demonstarators are so rigid.. like they're forced to do this video haha

  • thats the horriblt thing about it though, cause you do have to be loose when you play being ridgid wil only limit what you can do.

  • your the one who is noob... respect alittle bit ass hole

  • i love this shit! yeah!!

  • stupid video! It is just plainly wrong! you shouldn't cross over your legs when you move to the right back court (for right handed player). See Peter Rasmussen -Footwork Drill for a good footwork drill

  • its true that its not common practice to crossover and it can be bad too but there are international players that do it but they do a back crossover. its liek comming into the net you can shuffle or crossover.

  • problem is, its not in the corner! cant they see it? its not even at the baseline box.... duh... poor video.

  • more to show how its done, the korean videos do have their flaws but as for right tachnique they can be helpful for those who are not recieving coaching at provincial or national level. my coach does go over stuff that is not even mentioned in the videos and when i coach i mention way more than whats shown.

  • not bad...but my question is...why are his feet slanted at an angle? in a fast game, all its guna do is slow him down, because if you choose not to do the scissor hop, you're just going to slip

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO!

My footwork really lets me down, I've been looking for something helpful for a long time & I think this is just the clip, I'll let you know how I get on!

  • what hes doing is a front corssover, you can do that a back crossover or simply shuffle to the back corner so whatever works best for you. some work better for different people and its not always gonna be the shuffle thats the fastest.

  • amazing, very educational

  • backcourt backhand clear is the sexiest move in badminton...its the best way to work out your wrist and show off that explosive burst of power

  • footwork is probably the most important thing if you want to be a good badminton player
